Shame there were not more runners,  but I guess most of the final series positions had already been decided.

I had been lying down in a darkened room just beforehand, hoping the painkillers would kick-in to help with my headache;  however - apparently what I really needed was to just get out on track!  Particularly with the knowledge that the surrounding positions would not change & to just enjoy it as much as possible without pressure  (apart from the usual don't take out team-mates out of course...)

I certainly lucked into a better final position here a couple of years back,  but this was about as good as I could realistically expect;  podiums rare with this bunch!

Anyway,  congrats to the chaps ahead; then just romped away with it.

Don't know what happened to John  (he's the one that somewhat assisted me with some online testing before the last privs event here);  but although it's not entirely sporting to say so - was relieved to see that prib suggested he was probably being kept busy elsewhere.

Likewise, in the early stages at least;  Phil certainly had the measure of me.   Although I could maybe close a bit during the lap, he was just haulin' ass up the hill & away.  I consider I inherited that position due to an issue at T1.

Where as I managed to get my off-tracking complete T1/L1  (maybe that's what I get for taking a couple of psi out front-left before the off; as I noticed I'd been getting that into the red after a few laps in practice...).  But overall, maybe it helped with consistency after a few laps had passed.

Nice of you to stand-in for Fran... :)

Cheers all,  it's been another good season.

Dave.

Well, not the glorious end to the season I was hoping for...

Qualified amazingly in 2nd but a good way behind Cookie's time and just ahead of Bastian in his Eagle. Got away well but Cookie was slowly getting away and Bastian was making his intentions very clear behind. I made the rookie mistake of revising my setup just before the event and meant to transfer the chassis settings across to my race set up leaving the gears as they were but due to a monumental mix up ended up with the "Qualifying" gearing for the race as well. 1st & 2nd particularly was way too low and I over revved the engine every time I needed the gear. Sure enough after a few laps the engine cried enough requiring a shift-r. Then to add insult to injury I completely cocked up my plans for the S&G and despite creeping around the last few 100 yds still managed to miss the pit entrance so had to go around again. Eventually having got that sorted I rejoined the race but was well adrift of the rest of the field and Cookie was already flashing in red on my Prib occasionally.

From then on it was simply damage limitation with the number 1 priority being to try not to get lapped by the leaders. Caught Jack in his BRM who let me through a lot easier then perhaps he should have considering we were racing at that point and set off after Dave R who was about 0.5ml up the road, Slowly reeled him in and finally got past only to mess up T1 and slither into the kitty litter, I'm sure I heard him laughing to himself as has went back through. So with it all to do again I caught him finally into the hairpin onto the S/F straight and this time managed to make it stick, Passed Jack for a 2nd time a little later but there was nothing I could do about Phil who was a further 15 seconds up the road so I concentrated on not blowing my engine up for the 2nd time while watching Cookies progress behind in case I needed to get out of his way in a hurry but fortunately the flag settled that one.

As Dave C mentioned it's a shame the turnout was so low for this one. :(

A big thank you to everyone who looked after the servers, scoring, moderation etc. I've really enjoyed this season. It's a shame I can't be as lucky with my lottery numbers.

TTFN
John.

Wow, unexpected.

considerations to john (engine in lap3 or so) and Axel.
I noticed the gap melting to 13 seconds in the last lap and thougt you went off.
But i guess you will have a time penalty for your stop n go you couldn't take anymore, or why should i win this.

i, for myself hoped for a mistake-free race until 10 laps to go, when i spun off twice in T1. losing around 26 second in total.

I thought to have enough time to take the penalty for the last lap reset, but waited too long for the shift + r ...

My season 32 petered out with a whimper - scuppered by the scourge of Microsoft. The was s large windows update with messages about how my on-line experience was being improved. Surprisingly everything on GPL seemed to being functioning until the start grid when I discovered my clutch had been disconnected when I jump started. I returned to the pit to serve s penalty but forgot GPL disconnects if you stay still too long. To be honest I rather struggle for pace at this track.
Not great season, but enjoyed the racing ad always.
Congratulations to John on a solid championship drive & to the Dave's, who scored rather more team championship points than me.

Verily now something is changed with the new pedals but now, sometime,i have problem with wheel.
Only the race at Porto was a disaster,2 engine in 5 laps and ,for me,without explanation.

Mod report published.

Congrats to John for a convincing win this season, to Dave Rainier for the runners up spot and to Dave Curtis for 3rd.

Overall the standard of driving this round has pretty clean so many thanks for that. Hope to see you all next season  :).
