Title: UKGPL Season 32 (2017-18) Sports Car Trophy (67) - Interlagos - Feb 27 Post by: Cookie on February 23, 2018, 12:25:34 PM +0000 Season 32 Sports Car Trophy – Round 10 - Interlagos 70
For the last round of the Sport Car Trophy we go to Sao Paulo,Brasil, the Motor Racing Circuit Interlagos 70 Interlagos was famous for it´s bumps. In fact the track was a torture for every driver of every class of motor racing. The track was so bumpy that it was considered the closest thing to Rallie Racing ! Since it´s first WDC, every driver complained a lot about the condition of the track. It turns out that the fault wasn´t the asphalt per se, but the soil underneath the asphalt is not suitable for laying asphalt over it.
Driver lists and divisional rules can be found on the championship standings page (https://www.simracing.org.uk/smf/index.php?action=LM2R&group=619&theme=6) Only reported incidents will be moderated, there is no Red Zone. Handicapping and chassis allocation. This season the Sports Car Trophy will be using a token system which allows drivers to purchase any chassis of their choice for a given number of tokens as published on the championship standings page (https://www.simracing.org.uk/smf/index.php?action=LM2R&group=619&theme=6). Drivers classed as Amateurs will be allocated an additional 10 tokens. The token allocation will not be managed in SRou this season so (unlike the 67F1 Works and 67F1 Privateer divisions) the tokens available to each driver will not appear in the championship table (when the mouse pointer is hovered over the driver's total). Rather, the available tokens will be published in the race announcement. See below. Available Tokens: Note: These are the tokens available to each driver before the 10 tokens are added for making the race start.

Such a great track with these cars, pure fun! Grats To the Champion Greg, who missed it too (my best wishes to you and your father) Title: Re: UKGPL Season 32 (2017-18) Sports Car Trophy (67) - Interlagos - Feb 27 Post by: Phil Thornton on February 27, 2018, 11:18:14 PM +0000 I've uploaded the chassis choices into the spreadsheet. Unfortunately Evil has overspent his tokens. He had 3 tokens available after Round 9 which when added to the 10 tokens start money was 2 tokens short of the cost of the Lola :(.

My race was fun while it lasted. Made a poor start and spent the next half battling through the field. At half distance real life intervened so called it a day.
Congrats to Greg for winning the sports car trophy. For whatever reason, this season I've been blighted by the braking bug. It caused me to go off again this round. I don't remember it being much of an issue in previous seasons, but driving around it this season has proven beyond me. I look forward to trying out the GT Extra mod whenever that gets released. Thanks guys for the racing this season. It's been good fun :). Unfortunately Evil has overspent his tokens. He had 3 tokens available after Round 9 which when added to the 10 tokens start money was 2 tokens short of the cost of the Lola :(. TBH I knew that I would get a DQ for taking the Lola, but I figured that I was not in contention for any silverware and did not want to upset any results. On the other hand I fancied some good racing, so by taking the Lola I would be able to race, but not be in the results, sneaky huh??!! As it happened I screwed up and ripped a wheel off after bouncing off a kerb. Until that moment I was enjoying battling those big Chapp 2F's, they had the grunt on the straights, but the Lola was awesome around the twistier bits. A great battle with Doni for a few laps and then Axel joined in. The setup that I grabbed was on old one from Albi, and I just had to reverse the offsets to get the tyres working properly and there was no evidence of the "brake bug", I could just stand on the anchors at each corner.
