Luckily it's "liberationday" friday, so the exam that I've got is on thursday. So I will be able to join, and drive all the frustration off me :P. So I better get pole or else all cars infront will suffer ;) :tank:
After the race I'll post an unofficial lapchart for people who are interested, and probably the day after a video, if there is any good footage.

There isn't any registration for Season 1-ish so free-for-all (SimRacing.org.uk members only of course).
Hoping we will be using our new server with greater capacity.

More familiar faces. If the whole ghostspeed knows of this league, there will be no problem to fill the server up to 1000 people ;)

Hmm, I drove that stupid exam out of my brain with practice, and I think it worked. A 1:47.421 gave me a 4th place at GTLrank with this car (alfa) track combo. No doubt that is beatable, but for now I'm happy with it.

But what is the rule about cutting the chicane? As far as GTL allows it, or always 2 wheels on the track (including kerbstone) and the grey stuff is no kerbstone.

Looking forward to racing here tonight, though not had a chance for any practise yet. :(

I'll be in a sexy little Italian number...ooh and driving an Alfa  ;)

The only practical rule is that we allow what GTL allows, with the caveat that a driver who causes an incident as the result of what could be regarded as unreasonable corner cutting will likely face a stiffer penalty as a result. But I don't think that's likely in this case.

Good turnout chaps- 25 on the start for a non-official league race? Not bad at all.

Couldn't get it together in qualifying and then got nudged twice in the race, the second time saw me trying to start the engine for about 30 seconds. I was about to hit escape when it suddenly kicked into life. Grabbed back a couple of places but a little frustrating. Good fun overall though and Germany has all the best tracks IMO!

Well that was both great fun and very hard work leading to disaster.

Qualified okay in 10th amongst a pretty tight grid, managed to defend off the start and even snatched a place on the first flying circulation. Dragged myself up onto the back of Dan Minton and Locutus but started to have problems braking for Conti, and sure enough after a few hairy moments I spun and lost loads of time rejoining. After that I struggled to stay on the track there, and then having worked my butt off to catch Don I was a very silly boy and cut the chicane a bit too much for a third time and got a stop and go. After that things went from bad to worse when Don spun on the back straight and I didn't slow enough to pass his out of control car, rolling and slipping almost to last.

After that I totally lost touch with everyone but 2nd and 3rd place cars but hung on in there for 15th and (I think) a single point.

Hopefully the server replay will be available (and no doubt I have remembered all that stuff above in the wrong order!)

Very pleased to see a good turnout and from what I saw the new guys (including the mass invasion of Ghostspeed drivers :D ) we've gained quite a few good, clean racers who aren't aliens. ;D

;D Firstly well done Ruskus, but I'd like to say if this is what the rest of the season is going to be like then BRING IT ON!!
Had fabulous races with Greg130, Locutus and MichaelB, to name but a few, all nice and clean, I even made it more interesting for myself by missing a braking point   and hitting the barrier  and then having to wait for everyone to get past safely. :P

But PHEW! what a race in the midfield!  :o
Well done to everyone, brilliant, server was also very stable relatively low pings, 120 ish.

Oh and I think MichaelB and myself deserve a prize for the closest finish, 0.001 of a second in my favour,  :fencing:.

Had a good run in qually PB by 0.7 ;D Was very happy with 3rd.
The race started and I soon found myself 4th which was about right, Rui rod pulled a nice move on me around lap 6-7 and then started to pull off. But I got lucky cus I think he span a couple of times and then PG ran outta' fuel so I ended up with an underserve 2nd :P Thought there might be more cortina's tonight, I guess alfa are gonna win manufacturers title :D
Bad news on my gtl disc, a crack seems to have appeared in the centre of the disc. Dunno how much longer it'll hold out :( Hmmmm, suddenly r-factor seems really good ;D
Grats to Ruskus on his victory

I prefer to think of it as official-ish. ;) I don't think there were any significant technical issues so I think we will make this count as a championship round.

Awful qualifying say me start in 21st.  However this meant I had great fun battling through the field to finish in 10th.
Apologies to PW, not sure if we had a coming together, didn't feel anything but noticed you span.
Some really close racing in the middle of the pack, great fun

Great to see a fair few turn up for tonight, amazing pace at the front as usual and grats to Ruskus on a good win!

Managed to qualify in 6th with a PB and spent the early part of the race trying to hang on to the back of the lead 'pack' behind Paul968.  Paul then got disco'd :( which stopped a potentially good battle and then was left to try and catch JonM.  Had a very slidey moment coming into turn 1 and lost sight of him, then spent the next 10 or so laps staying about 9 secs back to the flag, in the end for a very welcome 3rd ;D well chuffed with that :)

I did my PB of 1:47 dead, with which I was very pleased. I used the same setup for qually as for race, as I always do. But I didn't know how it would act for 21 laps. In the first half of the race all was good, every lap in the mid 1:47's, but then my fronts were starting to wear and Pero_Grozni started to come closer. Well closer, he already was within a second of me, so he was getting too close actually :P.
But all of a sudden I lost him in my mirror...You tell them Peter what happened :D.
Then the backmarkers start to come up. First Adam Parle, and he spun in T1. I had no where to go, so I rammed him. I was pissed at first, but I didn't lose a position and after the race he immediatly apologized. So no hard feelings :thumbup2:
Then it was getting the car home, to take the points.
I heard it has good video material this race, so let's hope.

Shame both me and Picnic missed this one. After lots of effort getting the server working it would have been nice to show up for the first proper event on it, but c'est la vie. Sounds like you had good fun.

On the other hand my S2000 meet had a very good turnout. About 10 S2000s, an NSX, one bike and a CRV  :-X. Perfect weather for it. Driving at speed with the top down at night is awesome. Shame I couldn't take any pictures as I'm not allowed my new digital camera till my birthday. Bloody wife!  :o ;) I mean it's sitting there doing nothing and I can't use it. No fair!

Good show Zacari and Aagramn, doing well for Team Shark. Shame on you Gizmo. LOL ;)  :P

I'll be there for next weeks race.

What I don't understand is how Ruskus drives so fast with all the video camera equipment onboard?!

Good race - and it was going great right up till I ran out of fuel. Utter Pero stupidity at work there - I managed to mix up laps and litres of fuel and as it turned out I only had 16 laps worth of fuel. With enough fuel I would have been right there with Ruskus, possibly I could have also overtaken him as my tires were still very much alive at the point Ruskus started to understeer all the time.
I didnt do any practise beforehand and didnt have any setup so was quite suprised that I was more or less on the pace at the end of qualy. And in my old fashion I again managed to do a better lap in hte race than in the qualy so I am quite happy about that.
Next time around I will pay more attention to the fuel units -  this was one of my biggest begginer mistakes in GTL.

Arrrrgh!!  I was on a 1:49 qual lap with my ambitions on a 1:48 when the phone rang and I had to run out for important family business.  Looks like a missed a really awesome race, too, darnit!  Well there WILL be plenty more, muhaha.  Yes, GhostSpeed is here: we pass and you even see us!  ;)  I left the game on so I have the replay to watch, too.  Thanks for hosting!

About the cracked CD/DVD: Others have had this same problem and 10Tacle will replace the disc for a handling fee.  Personally I wish they would just TURN OFF the darn copy protection for us honest folks, what a waste.

Wow, what a great seasons opener!
I was having a good old battle with Flybri and Aagramn for a few laps until I gave it too much wellie coming out of the the last corner before the big straight and Smashed into the barriers, careered back onto the track and collected Gizmo (sorry again). The car didn't feel the same again after that ;D. Anyway got back to racing and found myself in another fight with Mr Cooper, I was a bit quicker on some sections of the track but found it too hard to make a clean pass especially when the cars are so evenly matched.
Really enjoyed that and love the TC 65ers.

No problem, as I said after the race it was just sheer rotten luck. I remember seeing you start to turn to the inside and a chain of thought along these lines:

"Ho ho, he's given it too much welly, here comes an easy position."

"Oh look, he's bounced off the barriers quite hard."

"He'll come to a stop on the right, go left, go left, don't lift too much."

"Perhaps he's not going to stop on the right after all."

"Oh dear."

"What's the sky doing over there?"

2nd disco in 2 weeks in a league race, both at around the same point  :(

The race went fairly well up to then. 4th in qual was about the best I could expect, and then I lost a place early on to Ruirod under braking into turn 1. I couldn't quite keep up, and he went on to get past Jon too. I was then following Jon at a distance, hoping for a mistake and not getting one. Zacari was behind keeping me honest but unless I made a mistake I felt safe enough. When the cars all winked out of existance though I knew the fun was over.

I'm not sure whether the problem is my internet connection (which does seem to go to sleep every now and then) or something is running on my PC. I think next time I'll start with a reboot of everything and then make sure everything else is turned off.

Locutus is receiving incident reports for Season 1-ish.

The divisional moderator is always listed on the championship table page on the website for easy reference...

The "incident" (can't really call it that, more bad luck) with me should not be reported. You spun without me knowing I was behind you, so better luck next time. Even if I did lose a position to Peter there, he ran out of fuel later on anyway, muahahaha....oops, he's a teammate ;).

Y'all need to get Assassino to invite you to join the team officially as described here (https://www.simracing.org.uk/smf/index.php?topic=431.0). Otherwise you won't pick up team points.

The "incident" (can't really call it that, more bad luck) with me should not be reported. You spun without me knowing I was behind you, so better luck next time. Even if I did lose a position to Peter there, he ran out of fuel later on anyway, muahahaha....oops, he's a teammate ;).

Thanks .... I should have been watching my mirrors a bit more, I've never caused a problem when being lapped previously, and with a bit more practice I intend not to get lapped at all!

Here it is

The video about this race. It took me many hours to make, so I hope people enjoy watching it.
I tried to put the best overtaking moves in the video, with some commentary at the bottom of the screen, to tell who is who. There were lot's of position changes due to spins, which I did not put in.
It's 4 minutes long and 50 MB. No engine sounds to save some some space, but with Queen at the background, you won't miss that.

Thanks Shark for hosting:

Great Vid ruskus. You were right about the sound ;) Everytime I see that writing going up the screen I just think of Star Wars. Maybe you should start with. On a race server far, far away.... :D
Nice work Rukus and thanks for putting it together 8) 8) 8)

Top video Ruskus. Cheers.

Some shocking driving from Team Shark co-founder Gizmo there though, chicane cutting at it's worse! Not sure I can sack his sorry arse though.  ;) :P

Thanks guys. But I found these videos to be much more work than the ones I did before (and my salary for it isn't enough for more ;)). So I'm gonna stick with making vids for the races I participate in, so either the NGT or GTL races. It's "easier" to know where to look when you were in it yourself. :)

Shark, how do I link to that lapchart so that everybody can see it, without downloading?

The trick is to 'cheat' and upload them without RARing them up - then link to the top-level HTML file.

Thanks, works perfectly now :D.

Oh Shark, if you sack him ;), you can transfer me from RSms to the Shark team, for only 1 million euro's. :-*

Deal, 1 million euro's it is ;D.

Because of the good words on the video, I'll keep making them (till I'm fed up with it :D)

I though the screenshots in the video were quite good. Gave me the oppertunity to show the action in a brief way, without making the video into a full scale movie. :D

At the top of the field it was kinda boring, hardly any overtaking, but in the middle and back it was a coming and going of moves. The names of Gymer and Locutos crossed the screen alot. They must of had a great race.

Should this video be linked on RSc for promotional purpose of UKGTL, or should we just keep it onboard?

Not a great race for me. Qualified back in 15th. Picked up a lot of places during the race, but only due to other cars going off track. Apologies to Flybri for taking you off when I lost control under braking for T1. Nice move at the end to pip me for 6th place Madd, thought I was safe but you got a much better run through the chicane.

Nice clean duel though wasn't it, I really enjoyed it, ridiculously close at finish, that extra wide number plate did the trick!!  ;D , I think it lasted for quite a few laps too (Brain is addled, 12 hour night shifts  :death: ) , I don't think we even traded paint either!
Hope to see you in next race.
