FYI -

I have reduced the fuel multiplier to x2 as the fezza's were nearly running dry at the last race

If you are not on the booking list you will need to log in during the booking session
If you are on the booking list you will need to log in during practice or qualifying

I will set up the practice server with ballast, if people encounter problems with ballast during the lead up to the event speak up so that we can try to work out what is causing the problem

Awwww man! just when I thought I had solved my overloaded fuel issues you go and throw a spanner in my fuel tank  ;D
Brands Hatch should set up a great race for the more nimble cars to show their potential  :)

Seemed fine for me but stracker isn't working on the server.

Not driven the track for a long time, forgot how good it looks! Now need to try out the 962 as thats a little more urgent.

Local boy gets podium finish  ;D

What a rush that race was, loved it  8)

If only I hadn’t missed all pre practise and qually (thanks to a late meal  ::) )
Joined with about 4 mins of qually remaining and hadn’t done any low fuel runs.
Ended up 10th with work to do  :(

The race was frantic from lights to flag  :o Spanner’s Audi was first target but he got out of shape into paddock and I was through. Next up fmg and I chased his bootlid for a few laps until he got a scary tank slapper out of paddock too that nearly took me out as well  :o
Then I caught allfrance and nfsw having a fast battle. Nfsw ran wide at the back of the circuit and I was past and got past allfrance somewhere else.
Up to 5th before my pit stop   :)
Pitted for fuel and new tyres (didn’t want tyres but couldn’t see how to cancel them  ??? ) Got back out in 6th I think just ahead of allfrance but nfsw had sneaked ahead (no tyres?). Felix quit a lap later as assume he missed the pit window?
After another great chase of Flavus and nfsw I was up to 3rd  :o and setting fastest laps until Simon nicked it late on. I got his 7 sec lead down to 5 and could see him ahead on the final lap as I gained on him but race finished.
Very happy with 3rd from 10th on the grid, could have been higher still if I’d been able to do a proper qually sesh and start further up front ..maybe  :)

Well another great GT3 race for me.  >:(   I did some offline practice in the afternoon and once the tyres warmed up I was doing mid 25's on heavy fuel load and when the fuel burnt off I was hitting low 25's. In the first part of the race I struggled to get into the 25's hitting mainly low 26's, nothing to do with the car or track, just my crap driving. After the pit stops I got pushed off at turn 3 and lost 2 places, then later got pushed off at turn 1  and lost another place and in between that I was trying to get past a badly lagging car. It would suddenly slow down a couple of car lengths and then speed away again as well as jumping about a bit and that caused the turn 1 incident. Practically impossible to race against and I got caught out again when I tried to follow closely through another turn and it suddenly slowed down so trying to avoid contact I hit the kerb hard and span. Hopefully that doesn't happen too often cos it is no fun racing against people with bad connections. Congrats to Jeff for the victory and drive of the day vote goes to Mark for 10th to 3rd.

Pretty depressing race. Got caught out by FMG braking a little earlier than i wanted and lost a place, took some time to get calm down a bit but was a bit miffed at peoples pace. Tyres didn't appear to be wearing much so wanted to change the pit stop so i didn't change them. But with the short pit lane i was in the process of cycling through when i reached the box, and they changed tyres... to softs. Not done any running on softs and found the left rear getting too hot, and with the rear being too loose becuse of this i ended up spinning which increased the tyre temps massively causing me to go off quite a bit. Had to stop on track to wait for the pressures and temps to drop to a normal range. But it kept catching me out and decided to quit as it wasnt much fun.

Even if I didn't get a good result at the end of the race, I enjoyed very much Brands Hatch circuit!

After the start in P5 I closely stay with Felix and Simon both in front of me ... Felix seemed to be a bit slower than us, in fact Simon passed him and disappeared in the distance, I had few laps very close (and very funny!) to Felix but without succeeding in overtaking him (well done mate!).
So I decided to undercut the pitstop, ... but ... shame on me! ... in the lap before the pit I went into the sand, lost contact from Felix, passed by Mark and nfsw55, bumped him while entering the pit lane (sorry again) and after the pit again in the sand after T1!!!

So all chances to get the podium smoked away in 2 minutes!
Finished 6th passed by a very fasty Flavus!

Congrats to Jeffrey and the podium!

See you for the gran finale!!

Apex, try Race Department Assetto Corsa website  - there are sticky threads there for various steering wheels. Saw them the other day while looking for something else.

I had a similar incident a couple of weeks ago in a different league, where I was tapped from behind and went off into the barriers, was a short race
so pretty well ruined my race. There were rules I read about which basically said if there's contact it's the guy in front's fault.
I might find those, but the point is, you can usually find a version of the rules that suit your argument. I didn't post an incident
report because, it would be that I moved over, or the guy behind pushed his nose up the inside... so I left it.

These are the overall rules for passing in the top level SROUK pages:
https://www.simracing.org.uk/smf/index.php?topic=3349.msg65156#msg65156

If you feel wronged you can put in an incident report, if you have and you don't like the ruling, then you can appeal if
you want, and another moderator (there are several) will have a look at it.

I hope you do book the incidents Flavus, as you cost me 3 penalty places for the Silverstone contact!  :P which I still think was a racing incident  ;)
I saw you get nerfed off ahead in this race,  unfortunate,  as could see you had good pace in the McLaren. It was a bit tricky and unfortunate that the Audi was warping in the race.

Last round should be a corker at Donington and 4 cars all within 10pts of each other from 5th to 8th and a few close together up front too.

Series stats look bad in that about 13 signed up drivers only made 2 rounds or less  :( Not sure why as the racing has been pretty good and enjoyed the British GT series angle. Not putting race threads up until a couple of days before the race doesn’t help promote though  :-\

@ Mark - The incident at turn 1 that you saw when you were following was down to lag so very difficult for drivers to avoid contact when that happens  :(.
However I raised an incident report for the above clash because my interpretation of the site rules is that it is all about the racing line turn in point - quote "you must establish substantial overlap with the car ahead before a corner's turn-in point to have the right for room to be left for you by the ahead driver". Therefore if an attacking driver has no overlap at this point then the attacking driver is fully responsible for any contact. E.g. An attacking driver on the opposite side of the track to the racing line will not gain any overlap until the lead driver slows to turn in. Then the attacking driver can easily gain false overlap by just braking later, going in faster, and claim that they have overlap when the inevitable collision takes place on or near the apex. Not so easy at the end of a long straight but not a lot skill required to poke a nose in front on faster corners. The main reason I put in incident reports is so that I can learn who is at fault and hopefully avoid similar incidents in future races, it is not a personal attack on anybody, its for my benefit as I am always looking to improve and avoid incidents. Overtaking and also defending always carries risk and I never like to risk spoiling somebody elses race, even if it means finishing farther down the field.

Here is my review on the incident after the appeal:

There was no overlap at the moment of turn in for the corner and the manoevre was purely dependant on the defending car leaving the door open and giving space. Because there is hardly a braking zone for this corner, you need to be alongside at the moment of turning in:

However, the McLaren steers in quite a bit earlier than normal which could have caught the Porsche out. This is the turn in point a lap earlier:

The contact between both cars is really minimal, but the outcome seems a bit exagerrated by the collision model.

I'll leave the original verdict in tact. The Porsche was a bit overambitious with an attempt there, but the McLaren was a bit unpredictable while defending.
