Title: G25 force spikes Post by: Clive Loynes on June 15, 2018, 01:52:16 PM +0100 My ancient G25 is giving me random force spikes when around the straight ahead position.
These are quite severe but manageable but I'm worried that the force feedback motors might be suffering. Any ideas? :( Title: Re: G25 force spikes Post by: Cookie on June 15, 2018, 05:14:27 PM +0100 Wich FFB do you use ?
Standart or FFB2 of brr? There is this big deadzone every Logi Gxx wheel has, you can feel it on long straights! No cure yet! my G27 FFB2 is set to 0/0/390 Title: Re: G25 force spikes Post by: Clive Loynes on June 15, 2018, 06:00:56 PM +0100 Wich FFB do you use ? Standart or FFB2 of brr? my G27 FFB2 is set to 0/0/390 How do I find out? I guess it's standard as I haven't changed anything. I also guess that the 390 is degrees but what are the two zeros? Thanks Axel Title: Re: G25 force spikes Post by: Cookie on June 15, 2018, 06:16:19 PM +0100 FFB2 is a patch by brr the force settings in GEM+ for it are the 0-0-390 !
It makes the feeling better in the wheel... Get it at SRMZ, there is also a test of FFB3 available but this seems imo to hard ;) Title: Re: G25 force spikes Post by: EvilClive on June 15, 2018, 06:22:58 PM +0100 I was experiencing something similar a little while back. The wheel would kick violently for no apparent reason, although my G25 has worked fine for many years.
It was around the time I fired up my new rig and switched to Win 10, but I cannot say for sure why it started happening. It was more noticeable in GTL than it was in GPL, but both were uncomfortable to drive.. If I recall correctly, I made multiple small adjustments to the FF settings until I managed to dial out the random spikes. I think I posted for help and copied someone else's settings to try and solve the prob. Once I had quelled the beast I made the settings universal for all games. Maybe I should try the FFB2 ??? Thanks Axel The three values should be Latency, Damping and Force as for the original FF setting in core.ini Degree rotation is set in Logi Profiler. I looked at FFB2 but decided that I wouldn't touch anything just before the IMS race. May have a play now. ;-) |
