Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules.
(3) The AI control should be turned off so that you have control of the car at all times, including pitting. Your player file should therefore read
Autopit="0"
Force Autopit Off="1" // Forces autopit always off
No AI Control="1" // AI never has control over car
If you still finding pitting problematic, experience tells us that its less to do with positioning and more to do with approach speed. A slow approach to pit crew chief has proved most reliable.

Special Notes: Note early race start time.

For those who are finding these cars tricky, I have uploaded two setups to the online folders. Procar one for Brands Hatch & a Gp4 one (which I used last time we raced these at Hockenheim79) for Hockenheim 79. Like the KAD Mini one I've uploaded I won't promise miracles but it may help people tame them a bit.

Thanks Geoffers for your setups. I'll give it a try as soon as it is a bit less hot outside.

Due to that I will definitely miss this one as I escape to the Eifel mountains for some days - hopefully 5°C less temperature   :whistling::

Update: now 41°C predicted  :boat: :

Holy cow Kurt - and 27º C on Thursday night!!!   Anything over 20º at night drives me bonkers, but then, I would most likely have melted during the 41º in daytime...  :sweatdrop:

:P that's one of the reasons traveling to Northern Denmark nearly once a year  ;D  or at least to the seaside. And I work under the roof without air-conditon :sweatdrop:.
Sorry to say but we are just experiencing what climate change means.

BTW: dmi.dk who are - in my opinion - trustworthy now foresee 42° C for Thursday:

Apologies to Matt for the unintentional impact at the 1st chicane, L1.

How not to take a chicane  :wetfish:

Was scary Tony, but no bother. Had to take a phone call, so went in pits, and left.
Not sure whether I had any trouble with these with my own setup, but I used Geoff's with
some minor changes like a less power diff, and more coast diff, and it went well.
Just curious.. were people using the secret extra setup options mod to reduce the wing for the straights?

I had the rear wing set to 2. I cannot confirm that this made me any quicker  ::) ;)

But it did make my car fly an awfully long way.

I had my rear wing on 1, like Tony I don't really know if it made the car quicker or not.

Anyway, congrats to Erling on a dominant performance , I was just about able to keep up in the early stages but was taking a few more risks than I felt comfortable with. Predictably I twice made a mistake at the second chicane so decided 2nd was better than a DNF & drove at a more comfortable pace. Still made another mistake late in the race when I got on the outside kerb entering the last two turns & spun onto the grass. Also had two cuts by then so the last 3-4 laps were very sedate.

Congrats also to Clive in 3rd & to Tony & Bob for making it to the end.

So, still curious.... If I ran with your setup Geoff, would it have wing at 1, or would I need
to have the addon installed for that to work.....

Honestly no idea Matt, I would presume it would have the wing set at 1 (or whatever I ran with on the Gp4 car last time here), but I don't know for certain.

Lots of practice for this one - wanted to improve on my performance back in 2016.  Quite like the track for the M1; negotiating the chicanes felt somewhat like threading a needle, but quite rewarding if you got your line and speed just right.

Matt: Ran with wing setting 5, which I believe is the standard, non-advanced setting.  Have tried 'low-drag' settings before, but always found that the more loose rear offsets any straightline gains (or increases the risk of spinning)

Very happy with qual; first time I got a sub 2:05 time - and even enough to pipp Ziu's old record from 2016; did not expect that

Ok start, retaining the lead.  Few laps into the race, I had the beginnings of a small gap to Geoffers, but then missed a downshift at the 2nd chicane, bumping over curb & grass both left & right.  That invited Geoffers back in, and he proved very difficult to get rid of again the following laps  ;)   Believe I - very reluctantly - gave him a tow on the straights, or perhaps it was his lower wing setting having effect.  Maybe he got distracted by a dustplume up ahead when Anton went off, but no matter, a mistake at the 2nd chicane gave me a breather.  Next lap, the gap was 8 secs, so he must have lost more time.  Later in the race, it jumped from 10 to 20 secs, probably because of the spin he mentioned.

When the immediate threat from Geoffers was averted, the rest of the race was a bit of a dilemma with my own vanity. SO wanted to clench fastest lap and beat Ziu's old record. Had done it several times offline under simulated race conditions, with best being a 2:05.5, so theoretically possible.  Online however, I just couldn't get things to click - kept ruining it for myself whenever I had a promising early split. Priority #1 still was to win the race, so couldn't let it all hang out just to try and score a needless record.

Grats to Geoffers & Clive, and all who made it.  Commiserations to the early retirements.

Glad to see you're not completely melted yet Kurt  :)   Funny you're using DMI (Danish Meteorological Institute, for the uninitiated). I'm not always impressed by their forecasts, but maybe they do Germany better than the domestic stuff  ;)
