First I would like to welcome you to our fantastic community  ;D

Just put up your driving and lobby name in this thread https://www.simracing.org.uk/smf/index.php?topic=1421.0 and I'm sure they will make you a reserve as the numbers are a bit low this season.

Sprint races last 40 minutes.

Find the championship roster here https://www.simracing.org.uk/index.php?ind=lm2&group=22.

If you have any more questions don't hestitate to ask them  :)

With the new server coming on stream, there are effectively loads of spaces free in GT Sprint.

The replays and exports are working on the new server yes.

No GTR replays still don't have wheels as we have to use the noDX version of the server.

I'm afraid I will have to miss this race as there is a VERY important football game I need to watch on.

Grimsby vs Lincoln in the League 2 Playoff Semi-Final 2nd Leg.

Hopefully Grimsby will be up by many goals already from the first leg, but it will still need to be watched.

Hopefully there will be someone else from the mighty Sharks there or the lead in the Championship'll dissapear! :'(

The replays and exports are working on the new server yes.

It seems that we have lost them again; a league race cannot go ahead without at least the exports because we don't have any other way to get the results into the database. Hopefully they will fix it during today but otherwise the race will be postponed and we'll run some sort of fun race instead.

Isn't there a sort of trial for 2 months with this server in which both parties can cancel the agreement? :P

Ok, I hold a grudge against Jolt, hehe. Never mind me ;) :D (For more info read the instagib part of their Unreal Tournament forum ;))

My last post seems to have dissappeared so I'll repost...

We should still have our 4u server (old server) till 20th May so we will move this race to that so that we don't have to postpone if Jolt haven't sorted the problem out. Of course typically, we can't currently access the 4u server but I think that is a temporary problem.

Tyf...not as big a grudge as me and Pete at the moment! ****ing useless b***ards.  ;D ;D ;D ;D

Think I've worked out why so many of you support Grimsby, is it because they named their ground after a famous racing car driver  :P

In fact I've just been Googling around and cannot find a reference to explain how Blundell Park actually got it's named, on or before 1899.

Absolutely cracking race.

Tough qually, got a new PB and was lying 9th behind some very fast buggers, then Flybri nicked the place off me on the dying laps....just as i was watching Truetoms times to see if he would do the same ! ::)

race was excellent, had a superb close quarters battle with Flybri for lap after lap never more than 0.8 secs behind him, while he in turn stayed glued to the aagram and SBG battle about another half second ahead...frantic stuff. I was putting all sorts of pressure on Fly, getting side by side with him on more than a few occasions, but his Fezza was just that bit better on the brakes than my trusty Saleen, though round the back of the track i was all over him like a cheap suit ;D
I eventually made a move stick and was able to get past and felt jubilant !
Then proceeded to close down Aagram and SBG after a few laps and just as i was gaining onto his bumper with only 10 minutes to go and what looked like it was going to be a classic 3 way battle, i double dropped a buggering gear at the final turn at the top of the hill :-[....was totally gutted, lost about 4 places down to 11th/12th. :'(
really felt robbed of a perfect race.
Got back past Dan M, but with the dying minutes looming and fairly ragged tyres i just had no more momentum or time to catch back up with the front pack and brought it home 10th.

Superb racing up front, i couldnt believe the pace and complete lack of errors or spinners for the whole race, congrats to JonM on a race well won.  8)
Great fun...shame about that bloody gear change :-*

Good race, qualified first of the Lambo's but it was very close. Kept TT Behind me for about 10 laps until my rear tyres went of and there was no way of fending him off.   Then Jonzo went off think his tyres had gone aswell , anyway i got passed him as he went off then i  braked too late into one of the corners and he got back passed . Had a chance to get back passed him but he made a good block.
Had to drive really defensive on the last lap as i was under major pressure from someone in a Ferrari, just managed to fend him off and finish 12. :)

Grats to Jon on the win.

Well what a tough race that was up the front, should be an interesting replay.
Bad luck to number 25, you certainly came off worse there mate, was pretty amazing to watch in the mirror.

Amazing pace again by Jon, grats on the win mate.

One of the most enjoyable races I've had. Superb pace up front again, don't know how you lot manage 1:54 laps around there. Equalled my PB to qualify 8th, was on to break into the 1:55s in the 1st sector, but it was my 3rd flying lap and the front tyres were melting. Hung in SBG's mirror like a furry dice from the start until the last couple minutes, was rarely more than 3/4 of a second behind. Was losing a little time behind him, which was backing me into the FlyBri & Mark scrap. Couldn't quite get close enough to make a move stick until the penultimate lap. SBG had a bit of a wobble and caught it, but I was able to get alongside and take the racing line into the next corner. On the last lap I came across a Saleen in the gravel, giving me 5th. Very pleased, didn't put a wheel wrong which was a pleasent change from my recent NGT & GTL races.

Great battle SBG, see you at the next one.  :) Congratulations to Jon for the win.

Boy those GT are hard work. I remember now why I stick to nGT ;) Got a PB in qualifying, so that's good. But drifted off on the warm up lap. Corners come much faster and I was messing around with the keyboard  :-[ Race was ok but my pace just got slower and slower, more and more understeer. It's not that bad with the smaller class. Still only 1 off in the race, and that not my fault but an unfortunate by product of 1 fps problems.

Need a lie down now  ;D

The race went just as planned. Got to fifth with about 10 minutes to go. Kept a steady pace and took it really easy in the last 5 minutes. Had about 9 seconds on the 6th place driver.

But then it went wrong and spun out in the last lap  :( Some disturbance broke my rythm so I shifted from 4th to 1st instead of 5th to 2nd. Spun out and ended up 7th. Not a bad result for me either, but still a big disappointment :(

Enjoyed that, pretty good turnout  :thumbup1:

Very fast times up front, Congrats to John M. Had a great 4 way battle for most of race with Mark J (all over me rear bumper) , Aagramn & SBG (in front). Mark was probably just closer to me than i was to Aagramn. Had a great battle for a good number of laps before he got the run on me down straight and made a good clean pass  :thumbup1:

Lost a bit of momentum for a few laps after that and never really got within 3 secs of SGB. Mclaessen had a couple of mistakes last lap and nearly got past but...

Pleased i didnt make any mistakes to speak of, good race all  :notworthy:

Bad luck Maurice, thought you might have been the Saleen I saw at the end.

Think Brno is particularly hard on the front tyres. I often set my fastest lap late in the race, but not at Brno. If Ruskus does one of his lap charts expect we'll see most drivers get slower & slower.

Tough break there Maurice, your pace deserved better. Well done to Jon, Paul and rest of podium (sorry didn't get third place).

Well that race was deja vu all over again, amazing battle with Aagramn. Pipped him in quali only to find that I couldn't shake him in race yet again. Concentrating so hard on my mirrors, defensive strategy and not making any mistakes that lap times (pretty slow  :)) were irrelevant (proper racing I suppose), and I hoped it might relieve the pressure if Mark caught us up. Unfortunately, nothing could save me and after a couple of mistakes he deservedly squeezed past with a lap to go. Brilliant stuff to pressurise me for fully 40 minutes and I bet no-one worked so hard to gain one place, congrats. Hopefully you'll out quali me, and the roles will be reversed next time.

I think our battle was systematic of the quality throughout the field, not just up top  ;D.

I feel a bit of a wally after that :-[ :D, I'd managed to put on steering assist for my practice yesterday and all my setups were rather twitchey!  And it took me forever to work out why I was slower LOL

Considering though, the race was pretty good.  Qualified in 5th and was managing to keep up with the front-runners, great to have such close racing up at the front again!  Managed to squeeze into 3rd behind Paul around Lap 13, then hit a double-shift into 1st not 2nd at turn 2 and couldn't quite hold it, went back to 5th.  Not sure what happened to No25 but was catching him unusually fast and then he disco'd so finished 4th.  Grats to Jon for a super-consistent drive at the front :)

Thx Guys ;D
I was surprised to win and be on pole because I only had about 5laps praccy.Luckily I had a good setup from last time here and just seemed to get back in the rhythm straight away. Had one scary moment in turn one with Paul I braked a bit early being worried about cold brakes so Paul closed up real fast and just kissed my behind :D but my car held up ok and then after that I think I prolly drove my most consistant race ever. There was only 1 lap where I ventured onto the grass with 2 wheels costing me 1 second but apart from that it was perfect stuff ;D Good job too cus the pace behind seemed pretty electric.

Not the best evening's racing for me.  Did okay in qualifying (given the limited time I'd had behind the wheel of a GT car).  Lost a place after getting offline in T1, and then me and Tyf collided in T2 leaving me spinning into a wall which knackered my rear wing and made driving it hard work.  Carried on for a lap or two before pitting, but my off track antics had cost me dearly so I pitted.  Made a few more mistakes and cooked my second set of tyres, and being the best part of a lap down on the person infront of me I called it a day.

Very happy with 2nd after a long GT layoff, especially given the pace at the front - the top 4 all under 1.54.5. I tried to stay with Jon for the first few laps, but it was clear I would melt the tyres if I kept that up. Dropping the pace a bit let the others close the gap, but as my tyres cooled the car became easier to drive. Those behind were clearly pushing hard too, as they all seemed to have small moments which gave me a gap again. I gradually extended this over the 2nd half, which allowed me to ease off in the last few laps.

Congrats to Jon for a classy win. Sorry for the mini-tap at T1 - you slowed much more quickly than I expected  :o

Paul

KeyDelay

This program assign's buttons on wheel to key strokes. Logitech Profiler has some bugs i.e it can cause sticking gears or loss of FFB, then use KeyDelay instead. I only ever used Profiler for key strokes so np not using it anymore.

Press button on wheel you want to assign key stroke, then highlight this button on left. Put in delay time, 100ms - 200ms is what I use and then choose which key stroke to use. i.e for shift up I use M and down N. Now in sim I assign shift up to M and shift down to N. This is ideal for any double shift problems, especially in GTR as it is able to recognise shifts within a very short space of time.

Thanks Ruskus. Shows what I mean about the tyre wear at Brno, nearly everyone set their fastest time in the first 6 laps.

Yep, great standard throughout the field. Makes the racing much more enjoyable when we can race bumper to bumper for 40 minutes with confidence.  :)

Sowwy to Adam P.. Was having a nice run and thought u had seen me trying to go for the inside, hence I tried to pass, lol, failed miserably as was the rest of this race for me, hehe. Not driven the Lambo for months, should have stuck with the C5R I guess, after a couple of laps my front tyres were twice as warm as my rear... My rears were almost up to temp... 65 or so, loool, imagine the understeer I got from having front meds on 130 degrees C ;D. Slid of a couple of times, doh ;)). Pitted, took hard fronts and med rears, haha! A lot better for a couple of laps, but I had a hard time even keeping up with Whit in his GT2 (no offense m8, but a Lambo should be 2 secs a lap faster, hehe).
Managed to finish, woohoo ;), but as Picnic said, standard is so high nowadays, it was 'only' a 17th spot I think :D.
Ah well, more praccy and prolly a different car and, in the most famous words evah to be pronounced by a Penguin... I'll be back!

;) :P

Yep, sorry about that Tyf, thought you were a lot further back (and don't recall seeing a black Lambo in my mirror - they're hard to miss so I'm sure I didn't see you - I'll check my replay when I get back.).

My qualifying times are slowly getting better, but I just have no consistency in a race environment, and lose concentration too quickly after things start going sour ..... I will do better in the NGT race at Brno (although I'm gonna take the Vertigo, so I might get left behind....).

No GT practice and it shows: qualified 14th  >:(  I was sure car was much faster, but I couldn't quite put it to work. Well, I guess I do join GTs purely for fun nowadays. I decided at the start that if I want to come any higher, I must not make mistakes. I achieved that quite well, though I was driving slower, not daring, not risking (boring  ::) ). Was following Dan Minton, who managed to keep the   :cursing: 2 seconds gap lap after lap. No mistake for 10 laps. Waiting payed off as he finaly braked too late and I managed to pass. I was ready for his pursiut but it didn't come - tyres, right?  :-\

Was looking to make my day by catching Mark Jonzo.   He was faster in quali, so it was my turn to beat him in a race. And I did, kind of. Actualy he was fast enough that I wouldn't be able to catch him before the end of the race, though I was slowly closing the gap. He made a mistake (not my fault this time   ;)  ) and I was quite satisfied to finish 9th.  :P

Those  :alien: (s) in front were outta reach. Crazy pace :o  Grats to the speedest Penguin!  ;D

Can see from the front 5 race pace that i need to still find a couple of secs a lap here in the GT's though  :'(  I felt like i was wringing the neck off the Saleen to stay with and race the 550's but obviously still need to find more pace out of the car.

Actualy he was fast enough that I wouldn't be able to catch him before the end of the race, though I was slowly closing the gap. He made a mistake (not my fault this time   ;)

hehe, nice one Tyf....you are most definitely right ! :fencing:

Though other than one person in a Saleen, it was noticable that all the faster cars up front were Fezza 550's. I'm a long, long way off alien driving standards thats for sure. :-[ :hang:

You just need to be really smooth with the Saleen. One spin and your race is ruined in the Saleen (like my last lap  >:(). It's just very bad on tyres :(

Apart from the winning car!  :P

On pace alone looking at last nights race I would have been 4th or 5th in the Lambo. It is mostly about driving skill not the car.

Hi Outcold. I expect Gizmo will be along regarding access to the GT season. With respect to the car then see this thread (https://www.simracing.org.uk/smf/index.php?topic=659.0)

If you are an independent then you need a car with your forum user number (317 in your case) You have sadly missed the skin pack refresh, deadline was yesterday to submit the skin. I'm sure RichA will be along if there is anychance to tell you what you need to do.

Hi OutCold, to sign up for a spot in GT Sprint post in the  registration thread (https://www.simracing.org.uk/smf/index.php?topic=1421) (nobody has noticed that the championship pages now link to the appropriate registration threads ;) ). There are still at least four full time spots free in GT Sprint. Registration for Endurance Season 3 (https://www.simracing.org.uk/smf/index.php?topic=1572) doesn't close until Saturday.

Was a fun race for me, while it lasted. :(

Got a decent qual spot and was confident I could run with the top five in the race.

BUT, I overdrove the 550 again, lol, managed to get up behind Paul, but had a spin on the turn up the hill and lost a couple of places.

Had a great battle with Greg for a few laps, but we had an inc, I kept going for a couple of laps then I lost conn grrr.

I keep over driving the 550 as I've campained the Viper online mostly, might have to jump in the Dodge for Donny. :D

It seems like an age since my last 550 related disaster, has the sprint race at Oschers next week been confirmed? Don't mind a delay as my pedals have gone wonky and those nice people at BRD don't think new bits will arrive by then.

Please ignore me if this has already been explained somewhere  ::)

Based on my recent form, you don't have too much to worry about.  ;)
