Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules.
(3) The AI control should be turned off so that you have control of the car at all times, including pitting. Your player file should therefore read
Autopit="0"
Force Autopit Off="1" // Forces autopit always off
No AI Control="1" // AI never has control over car
If you still finding pitting problematic, experience tells us that its less to do with positioning and more to do with approach speed. A slow approach to pit crew chief has proved most reliable.

Special Notes: None

Fun race for me, I really like these kind of over the road type tracks.  Took the Aston, was faster in the Healey and F-Fer but had used the Healey and wanted to save the F-Fer for some other track.  The DB has always stumped me in the settup department.  If I get it to turn in  good then it is way loose on exit.  Once you get it hooked up it has good speed though.  Didn't Qually as I still don't trust my PC, but had no problems so maybe Erling gave me the advice I needed to remedy my problem. Thanks again.  Got caught up in Kurts L1 flying car incident and got into the berm that seems to run all the way around this track.  No problem Kurt, just a racing happening.  After that I made up some positions and chased Tony for awhile and he let me go by.  Had a real long pitstop it seemed like, and met up with Tony again and had two off's into the berm on the long uphill area, same corner just different laps.  Not a good finishing position but still had a good time anyway.  Next week is the heavy weights at a quirky little track called Tobin.  Have never raced the short version before always the long one.  Should be a good fun one also, all Pontiacs for me!

I did not (and still don't) intend to take part in the European GTC Cup, but I could not pass the (rare) opportunity to race at Charade because I love this track!  :thumbup2:

Being not limited in car choice I took the one that seemed the easiest for me to drive, but keeping it on the tarmac for 16 laps still took me a lot of effort... and sweat!
As usual I was a bit out of pace, but at least I managed to avoid any spin or crash, so I can consider this as a positive result. Also this was my first ever race with pit stop (yes, I normally stay away from pit stops) and it went well (any time lost there is insignificant compared to what I loose on track anyway).
Overall a good racing evening  even if I was most of the time on my own, apart from a few stressful laps chasing Seniordan (which helped me improve my lap times somehow).
Given the hard time I had to keep the car on track while running in the 3:50+ I am massively impressed    by Geoffers pole lap 3:40 something...  :alien: (where is the shortcut hidden ?), not to mention all the "regular aliens" lap times in race trim...

I made a late decision to join this race as my frozen shoulder has now almost thawed out.

I anticipated being the slowest driver as I had done very little practice. I just wanted to finish the race and get some practice in.

At the start of the race things went a little better than I had expected. I actually managed to hold a couple of drivers up for a short time. Nine laps into the race I still had plenty of fuel left but my tyres were shot so I decided to stop. I should have practiced refuelling. I fumbled with the keyboard and put in considerably more fuel than necessary wasting time and adding weight. After my restart I was really just cruising or so I thought but for some reason my car performed a slow motion tank slapper ending in a spin taking me off the track and onto some grass. After mowing the grass I found my way back to the track but got stuck on a bank when trying to re-join the race. Oh well, it was fun while it lasted. ::)

Grats to winner and podiums.

Thanks SC, quite surprised 3.40 was possible in the Healey. Doing 3.48s when I started testing but gradually brought it down by perfecting lines, braking points & not overdriving. Definitely one of those tracks where keeping the speed up through the fast sections & getting on the power early out of the slower corners pays dividends.

Obviously my race went really well, got a good start & gradually eased away from Ziu, he was faster through the twisty early part of the lap but I was quicker on the faster sections. Ziu pitted early whereas I went to half distance, was surprised Ziu overtook me while I was in the pits, an 8s deficit turned into a 10s advantage for him so I guessed he didn't change tyres. Tyre wear was pretty severe here so it was no surprise really that I caught him within a couple of laps however getting past was not easy & it took another lap & a half & a mistake from Ziu to give me a chance. Once past it was a fairly comfortable drive to the finish.

Congrats to Ziu in 2nd & Clive in 3rd.

Well that went better than I had anticipated. I always feel that Charade is one of those Marmite tracks for me. but it changes with each race. I have run Charade multiple times in GPL and with mixed results, so I guess that it is me, not the track???  ::)

As for car choice, I have used a Merc and an Aston thus far, so it was either a Fezza or the Healey...and to be scientific F comes before H in the alphabet so......... ::)

It took a few changes to the diff and the ride height before the car felt comfortable and I was quite pleased with my pace. So when Geoffers and Ziu turned the wick up and started posting absolutely stoopid lap times, I was dumbfounded.
I did not hook up the perfect lap in qually and was relieved to be as high as 4th for the start on a track where passing is difficult. The start was OK except for Dan and his super launch control !!! ??? So back to 5th with Fulvio all over my tail pipes.
Dan was quick but I felt that he was running very near the limit? so waited for a big enough error that I could capitalise on and he duly obliged by running wide.
Passing Dan gave me protection from Fulvio and his quick Healey, so I pressed on and built a gap> Then Matt had a moment in his Merc and I was up to 3rd!!! My brain was aching with the concentration lol, but Geoffers is right about getting the lines and exits right to maximise lap times.

I had actually worked out beforehand that I could do 10+ laps on a tankful, so I would only need to take on 6 laps worth to finish the race...... cool plan  ;D So at the end of lap 10 I trundled into the pits with a 8 sec lead over Fulvio and was guzzling fuel when he rolled in for his stop. It did shock me when he left the pits whilst I was still drinking my tea  :o, but once I got rolling I realised very quickly that he was slower.....he had not changed tyres  ;)
It took a couple of laps to reel him in but he yielded the place without any fight.
Once I was a few seconds ahead and safe in 3rd I eased off for a cruise to the finish as there was zero chance of catching the two cars ahead...they had been a distant memory since lap 1!!!
I still do not see where the extra 4 secs are hiding, but Geoffers and Ziu were in a different league, well done guys awesome pace!!!

I don't know what I did to my Merc to make it so slow at Charade. Just could not get the pace others were enjoying. I actually let guys behind me pass (difficult circuit to overtake at IMO) so that I would not hold them up and cause a potential accident.
One to forget for me  :-[

I should have stuck with the Healey, as I had done long tests with it, but seemed like Healey city, so decided to try the Merc
which felt nice, and was almost as fast. Was fine at first, but as the tyres wore the thing became really unstable at the back
I spun at least 5 times, and kept dropping further and further back, though the pace was good, I kept losing it.
Had fun chasing Dom for a while, and was catching until I fell off for the nth time. Then got stuck up a bank and S cargo
went past. Ah well fun all the same.

Hi love this event and was hoping to join the race for a few laps, in practice managed 8 laps before my eyes started to play up  but no way could join as in both versions of Charade 65 light and full had terrible flickering and parts of scenery poping on and off, tried various other tracks with these cars and had no graphic problems, also i think we have raced at Charade some time ago and had no problems then.

Grats to Geoffers on win

Grats to Podium
