I would like to put together a skin pack for this series, so shout up your chosen skin. There are loads available on RD but I will also dump the ones I have into a rar file on my dropbox folder.

I also have a couple of base setups created by the talented setup guy, Georg Siebert that I will make available to hopefully give us all a good baseline to tweak from, but of course you can use your own.

The series will run fortnightly alternating with the classic Alfa Cup series, using a 40minute race format, though I may make the Bathurst round an hour long special if enough interest.  :)

I've also just noticed these have proper sequential gearboxes - I wonder how many more springs I can get through while we drive them before I upgrade the shifter to a new design? :D

must admit I saw the sequential shifter in cockpit and thought...hmm, would like one of those for sim racing  :) Wonder who makes the better (more realistic) versions?

Good ones seem to start around £150.
G25's have one as standard, but the down side is they eventually break.
Having used one for years where appropriate I felt the need to replace it but couldn't stomach the cash.
Hence designing one in my lunch breaks at work and then making it myself on manual machines (the joy of having NX on my pc at work, but no CNC knowledge!).

Once the (almost designed) hand brake is finished i'm planning on upgrading the sequential with some springs stolen from my kitchen bin ;D
Although I'll need to make a newer/larger Base to hold them.

Just using the supplied plate with the TH8a shifter, use it also with any car that is sequential, probably why I'm so slow.....

Good point as I have a th8 too! Have never used it as the sequential, just H-pattern

These cars are a lot trickier to drive than I expected. First 2 laps are fine, but then you already drop below optimum grip on the mediums and the back end just keeps stepping out on turn in  :-\.
It will require quite a bit of tinkering to tone that down.

Good. :) But did you try to set rear wing slightly more than zero?  ;) ( joke)
As allways need yours reference lap in server and 2 versions of setup in stracker  :angel:
I'll try to implement new approach to my setup building in case of tires camber . Will see if it will work or not. IMO temperatures tune  ;) Just implemented new future in my tyre telemetry monitoring app  :)

i found they need a bit of wing (7 or 8+) or stiffened up front for some of the turns at Brands Hatch. I'm down to low 27's with meds and 30L fuel so far but only done shake-down/test laps.
The default setup isnt bad straight out of the box, maybe a bit too much camber  :-\ but generally i thought the car was on rails, though you can get into some oversteer moments taking too much speed into the turn.

I was faster using a tweaked version of the Georg Siebert setups i uploaded. You need to drop the tyre pressures to 18/19 (setup must have been made on an older tyre model) and increase the rear wing.

Cant say i noticed any drop off on the tyres other than trying to get some heat into them for several laps.

Thanks for PM. Yes, I have been looking on with envy at the recent GPL mod and 917 races, and would be straight in with the Alfa GTA series and probably the Evora too, but I just can't do wednesday eves at the moment. Maybe will join later on. Sorry.

Just need people’s skin choices asap even if it’s a stock one, or I can just assign one to those not fussed.

Pick me a blue one for the time being if there is one. Probably won’t turn on my gaming pc until race night as per usual to even see what skins there are. Hope this car is driveable and doesn’t need lots of setup!

Default setup with changes to tyre pressures seems like a solid setup.

Banner will be removed from car, yes. For external view too  :-\ This mod is just for ppl who don't like too narrow vertical view from the cockpit   :)
Its easy to test by yourself and redo if not like it ( just delete this new files from your car's skin folder.

Why would I spent my evening doing something I don't like? I've been saying I dislike the lotus cars for years. ::)

At least I give a heads-up if I plan not to show up, but I guess it's better to just not show up without saying a word.

I won't bother with signing up for series in the future as I don't want to hurt anyone's feeling when I realise I don't like.  ::)

I did never signed up for this champ I guess, as most of the champs I raced here in the past, or with the TCR, or the RRE champs. If I cannot be sure to race all the events and I didn't try the car before the first race, you will concede me a couple of races to see if I can have some fun with the car selected for the champ. More simply, there are cars that I don't like at all. I didn't like much of the choices on AC lately on SROUK (TCRs, V8s, Lotus Evora), but it's not a matter as long as you have people who join your races. Lately I've found another champ with GPL69 mod on another portal thanks to Fabri, and I decided to spend my time on that cars, instead of driving the Evora.
At the opposite, even if I'm a bit slower than fmg with the Alfa GTA, I found that car a real blast to drive, especially when you're engaged in some fights. It would be enough to jump on the server with some fmg from time to time and start a last blood duel for 20 minutes to make my day. That's the difference ::)

not hurt my feelings, im thicker skinned than that  :-*  though it is dispiriting trying to organise a series that a lot of people like and want to race. Everytime someone bails it makes it less of a race or event for the rest of us. Would you race if only 4 people turned up? Nah!  :P
