Hello guys, I've a question about the car.

I've tried the car in Spa, but the car is very difficult to drive.
Lot of oversteer at the beginning of the corner and lot of understeer while doing the turn.

Do I need only more practice or I'm missing something?

This is a very difficult car to drive! When we last drove this in a series i really struggled with it, i think i started reducing the cambers to try and gain some grip by increasing the contact patch, and increased front toe, but really i think its just practise as default is apparently a real setup.

Unlike most of the cars in R3E The Cup car doesn't have pre-heated tyres and so will take a few laps to get up to temperature. Also it's a Porsche  ;) so transferring all that weight from the back to get front end grip is tricky. Slow in and fast out is a good place to start from and be patient getting the power down at exit of long corners such as Pouhon and Stavelot.

Out this Sunday so won't be racing, in fact I am probably going to miss most if not all of these races. Not too bothered though, never been able to drive Porkas.

Not likely to get back from Anglesey Circuit (The real one) in time, so will probably miss it, and I too am rubbish

So we are going with 40min races now?

In a car like this i'm not confident of getting to 20mins!

its race day, first round of the Porsche cup series!

Practice Server is up and running

Has anyone got any setup tips for these porkas, all I have done so far is decrease the rear wing to try to reduce understeer and get a better balance, but it is still a real handful under braking for eau rouge

On default the car is way too unpredictable for me, so dropped the camber down to around -2/ -2.5 and the car feels a bit more planted and doesnt want to kill me into every corner. Only way to drive is to be gentle and smooth it seems.

Just tried the car and it feels much more of a handful than I remember it being. I softened the front arb and stiffened the rear, dropped the wing a notch or two, but also reduced negative toe-in. Still feels a handful. I'm not sure there's much can be done to radically change it with the setup, it's more a case of adapting your driving to get the best out of it, which is not at all easy. It has a narrow sweet spot, and with a high chance of ending your race if you make a mistake - front end impact destroys the rads, and rear end destroys the gearbox. Hope some of us make it to the finish..

That turned out to be a lot of fun, with good racing for the lead throughout, until with 10 minutes to go my car suddenly snapped right at Pouhon whilst close behind John. I've looked at the replay and see I got a front wheel just a little on the kerb, but I still don't know why it did that.. Didn't end my race, but I did lose my front splitter and couldn't do much after that. Enjoyed those 30 minutes though!

Congrats John and GT.

That was hard! I really find these cars so tricky to drive. Frex and GT had the pace on me and were able to catch me quite easily,  I just couldn't push at all no grip on the front end especially with braking. So I was a little surprised to win and was totally done in at the end! Still i do enjoy Spa and I just need to work a little on the set up on porker

A Porsche at Spa is always going to be fun for me and I like this cup car  :) Tyre wear was starting to affect grip in the last couple of laps but the car didn't seem to lose as much front/rear balance as other sim Porsches do as the fuel load decreases. I'm not sure if this is realistic or not but I always found this frustrating.....maybe the car/setup is just better in that respect.

Anyway, all good fun here....well done to John for the win and hard luck to others. These cars deserve bigger grids!

I was away at the weekend and failed to get back in time to race. Although I've lost a lot of love for GT3s I was planning on giving it a whirl and to see how things went.
