Can you add me to the list of drivers?

Sure can  :)

Note to all, there are only limited pit box openings at Imola 72' so I will remove the few spare slot cars from the drivers file that I leave for any turn up on the night guys (who aren't on the drivers list) - don't think we've had any anyway.

is there a setup floating around that I can borrow or is it just that I is slow? 5-7 seconds down so far! Not worth turning up for that speed!

Offtopic- are you guys using forum and posting here without any problems? This last days i see a 7 seconds pause when posting or just coming in this site. ( some days ago i have no acess here at all ( due site meintenance?) From this point i having such pauses here..  :(

I'm frequently getting a delay to the website too - assumed it was my VPN, although the delay happens no matter where in the world I decide to be :D

My driving style for here is not very sideways, at least not on corner exits - Imola is the wrong style of track for that - You want to be driving more like Fabri to go fast here

its a bit easy to bin it under hard braking at the bottom of the two hills  :scared: but i've been too busy last few days to get any proper practise in for this round.

If it's a logitech G25 style shifter just remove the gaiter and surround. It'll work fine then  :)

Also, from looking at your speed trace I don't think you're running the right gearing, you're losing loads of time on me when you change into 5th..

thanks, but its a frex  8).  Anyway I wasted this morning taking it apart and after a quick test I think its Ok now, I guess we'll see tonight.

oh, so do you wanna share the right gear ratios?  :1eye:

I know it might be odd but I'd rather not, it just feels wrong in a manual car these days  :)

Looks like you're only out in 5th ;)
Alexely seems to equal my acceleration when you factor in his paddles - take a look at his setup would be my advice

Pace here will be purely down to practice laps once you have your gears and tire pressures sorted, the entry and exit from Tosa is so critical that it's worth more than a fancy setup on it's own. Same goes for Rivazza, and to a lesser extent, Acque Minerale too.
Acceleration onto the straights is the single most important thing here - drifting out of those corners simply will not work where lap times are concerned :)

Is the race server running? Only the skins are wrong if so as I'm in a red car and Alexey is in something green...

Despite the nasty old cars  they are quite amusing.

First race I was following Kai closely down the main straight at the end of lap 1, getting myself in a position to overtake into the first sharp left, but his car warped in front of me and we collided. Sorry, not much I can do with the warp there. My ping was about 13 to the server so I guess either server or Kai's end? Ruined his race unfortunately. Eventually had a battle with Alexei which was fun to the end.

Second race, started 7th, took it really cautiously in the melee at the start and ended up almost last. Fought my way up to 4th to throw it away on the penultimate lap but recover to 5th.

Please report and accident! Or let MJ penalised me as admin. At Lap 2 was make a noob wall contact and ruined my car and Fabry cant avoid this....Sorry Fabri i cant do anything here.. Stupid 2nd race. I've tryed to be so accurate in 1st turns of race 2 and no sucess... :'(
Thanks Simon for battle in 1st race. Was fun!

Don't really understand how / what / when AC allocates skins to cars, thought I had some idea but guess not. Everyone in the results tonight had their own entry in the entry_list.ini file so I would have expected them to have the skin contained in there. I've not checked that everyone's skin is the one listed in whatever topic they're in but if they worked before I don't see why they shouldn't have worked tonight.

Thanks for the apology Alexey, I was trying so hard to not fall off after being spooked with cars coming both sides of me up the hill so to be helped was frustrating. I managed to gain a couple of places after and my pace was such I probably ended up where I would have anyway. For me this has been the hardest Alfa / track combo so far.

How much fuel did anyone have for a race distance, I had 32L for race 2 but my engine did a weird cut 100m from the line.  More weirdly after I stopped it then ran Ok with full power, so I'm not convinced it was that  :-\

31 here.
FMG, can you please send me a race setup? I have interested this combo this week and had a good practice here before the race and was found my setup not so bad, but has not enough free space for maneuring... each cm of track  has in count with.. I want to see yours and take a test with it how it should feels and work more properly. Thanks!

32 I think. It's not that as your car slowed HARD. Almost as though you put the handbrake on (no brake lights).
I had to avoid passing you before the line you slowed so much.

Decent points haul for me, but my driving was terrible - stupid unforced crash in each race.
First race I got lucky when max took too much kerb and beached/span, Fabri did start closing slightly but I had space to hold on.

Second race I put myself into the wall hard at Acque minerali just after Max had made a schoolboy error. This trashed the car so much I was about a second down each lap - even with the advantage of drafting Max for the first 2 laps...

I actually thought he was slowing to let me win at the end, so braked. I'd have driven into his boot and pushed him over if I had too ;D

Alexey, it won't be before the weekend as it's my girlfriend's birthday tomorrow. Not sure you'll like it though - some of the tires were intentionally overpressure to increase speed on the straights :D

Two very different races for me tonight.

Qually and race 1 were both ruined by discos (not had one for ages). Finished 9th.

Race 2 found myself on the front row but had decent pace surprisingly. Was amazed (and disappointed!) to see Fmg already 4th by lap 2  :o ..so much for a cushion  ::)
He soon caught me so didn’t risk a contact at the tricky downhill section and let him past, but then I improved my pace further and was able to keep him in sight for quite a while whilst setting new pb’s that kept Kimi at bay behind. He chased me for a long while but faded away eventually.
I could still see fmg ahead upto the last lap when I noticed my fuel was almost empty  :o and made a mistake at Tosa that cost 3 seconds  :(
Luckily no one was near me so I cruised home to a fine 3rd place  :)

32 I think. It's not that as your car slowed HARD. Almost as though you put the handbrake on (no brake lights).

having watched the replay I have to agree it seems that way, but I defnitely didn't pull the handbrake, was flat in 5th  ???   sadly it doesn't seem possible to have an app that shows handbrake use so no way to check for sure.

Oh well,  onto the races.

I never really clicked with the car / track combo and didn't find a setup I was comfortable with at all (which is a disappointment after goodwood where I had it sorted), so I struggled to get a good qually lap

Race 1 -  The start was ok and I had a slight run on Fabri heading up to Tosa, but he understeered in the fast right just before the braking point and I almost went off track. We both survived but it meant fmg had a bonus extra lead (like he needed it). A couple of laps later fmg span at the same place under braking and we were through, although he was quickly on Fabris tail and not long later back on mine. The he got a nice run on me and we were side by side up the hill from Acque Minerali and into the braking zone for rivazza I had the inside line,  but I clipped the kerb on the inside and span (doh #1). Next lap I had a nice understeery moment at Piratella and gently ran into the wall on the outside, then proceeded down the hill where the wall again invited me to play, ending up embedded in the armco..  race over

Race 2 - I got a good start and slowly pulled a gap,  but still didn't have the raw speed of fmg. A couple of laps later he was past everyone else and only 3.5 seconds behind me. I kept pushing trying to drive clean laps and I was setting PB after PB but it wasn't nearly enough, loosing half a second or sometimes more. with a few minutes left fmg was right on my tail and again I messed up into Piratella and ran very wide, allowing him past, only to see him drop it under braking into Acque Minerali and bounce off the wall, allowing me to get back past. After that it was abit easier as it became clear he had taken some dmamage and lost top speed so I could easily hold the gap. On the last lap I knew I only had to bring it home and backed off a little in the turns so as not to make a mistake - all looked good until 100m from the line and then I had some weird occurence, it does look from the replay like the handbrake was full on but I for sure didn't do that so who knows.  Lucky for me fmg is not only fast but a gentleman too, and he braked allowing me to cross the line 1st  :thumbup1:

Between the races I gambled on some blind setup changes and it did work a bit, setting new PBs in race 2 and running a good bit quicker than I could before, but I still didnt like the car - getting the front end to bite is unpredictable at best...

I was pretty slow but in Qual I managed to get the second position on grid.

In Race 1 I started well, on fast right corner before the Tosa I had a huge understeering and I accidentally forced Max on left, near to touch the grass. Sorry for that, Max  :) Fortunately we did no disasters, and Max passed me on Tosa turn. Then FMG did a mistake but he passed me quickly. I was so in 3rd position. I was thinking that I ll mantein this pos untill the end, but Max did a mistake, so I finished 2nd.

Race 2. First 2 laps were ok, I was behind Alexey, not very close, when he, for some reasons, hit the barriers on Tamburello. I had no chances to avoid his car. My Alfa was highly damaged and became slower than about a second per lap. Then I had a good battle with Simon and Kimi. A final 4th pos.
