……………………..I some sugar soap here, do you think that might work????  ??? ::)

Anyhoo, I have been rescued by IKEA  ;D I had anticipated that I would have to construct a new desk from scratch to fit where I wanted it and happened to browse the B&Q and Ikea sites this morning, for some suitable filing cabinets to integrate into a 2 mtr wide desk top. When lo and behold  :o, Ikea had a unit for sale with 2 drawer units and a 2 mtr desktop "off the shelf" and in stock at my local store, which is just a couple of miles away.
Fired up the trusty Mondeo Estate, burnt rubber and drifted sideways into a convenient loading bay, collected all the items NP, back home and I am now typing this sat at a spanking new desk with PC and peripherals all working ( I think  :whistling: )

Might see you at Anderstorp if all is OK.

Suppose the end might justify the means.  ::)

Yes, a lucky result for us in that circumstance. Thanks for amending it for me Cookie.

When I was dropped (lap 18) I had a skip on the back straight and that lap showed as 1.5 seconds faster in S3.

After that, I did a fastest lap of 1:36.79, and by the end I could just about see Pelle in the distance when I was on the back straight (so roughly 10 seconds back).

Lost three seconds on the last lap and crossed the line with 0.1 gallons / 6 psi fuel  :o

too much rain here
so I used BRM because I was expecting a connection problem
in the end the result was still positive
and but once I spent the race in duel with Fulvio
this time it was better !!!

Congrats Pelle!!!!

Grats to podium and all finishers.

A long time since I have raced on this circuit and for me that was a very odd few laps. I had enough tokens to take almost any car, but thought I would stay loyal to the Honda. Qually on race fuel got me up to a reasonable grid position and the start went well.
A few drivers dropped out and after a few cars ran wide I moved up through the field with Fulvio and his Ferrari all over my tail pipes. But the car felt stable and I was hoping for a good finish. I saw that Iestyn was behind Fulvio and was hoping that he might slow him a little.
I made a small mistake which allowed Fulvio to get alongside and eventually slip through. I am honest enough to know that Iestyn is likely to be quicker than me, and anyway he is my team mate  ::), so I allowed him a free pass to chase Fulvio  ;) and hoped to tag along behind.
After that, although I did not run off the track, or hit anything, the car  ( or maybe it was me? ) just changed completely and wanted to spin at every corner???? Not only that, but my laptimes dropped a little and the rear tyres suddenly overheated dramatically???

The end result was a series of spins that ended when I ripped 2 wheels off at T1, still totally bemused by the change in handling  :-\

Strange thing Clive, I had the same symptoms some laps later.

Even though my only aim was to reach the points at half distance and I never pushed, my tire temps got orange and I had several spins...

I tried to cool down and succeeded after 2-3 laps. To the end all temps were green and the car felt as before.

Looking at the race history graph you can see the curve falling and recovering, I wonder if the 2 leading cars had the same behaviour at the same time?

For me, I noticed that it took a long time for the tyres to come in. Around that point, I noticed that my fronts were overheating, while of course in the Honda the rears are usually lighting up at corner exits anyway. It's around this point that I was finally able to pull away and try to chase the leaders, trying to be smoother to keep the temps in check.

I had raised the pressures on the Riekkinen setup by 1 psi (two half clicks), from 19 to 20, so the fronts were a click too far. I wanted to finish without any spins and managed to do so!

Thanks for letting me by Clive, I could see you were sliding rather a lot and trying to pass you otherwise made me quite nervous!  ;D

I´m driving this SIM since last year, had a great pace in the ferrari, but as so many times I cannot reach the final flag because of one or more spinns. Going slower doesn´t really work. So, try to keep on practising :)

Gratulation to all finishers and Pelle for the victory!!

 :o :o :o :o :o :o :o

How is it possible to be so quick after one or less year ?

I am driving GPL with mod67 since 19 or 20 years and I am so slow  :(

What's your secret ?

..I just loved to drive all kind of other SIMs.
All started 1991 with Geoff Crammonds F1GP followed by many others but mainly GP2 and GP3 up to Project Cars.

I knew GPL since the day it was released, also had tested it at a friends computer,
but left it because to difficult in those days, forgot it all the years and surprisingly refound it last year.
in a short time GPL has got my favorite, the SIM thats left :)
