Season 34 - 69X - Round 9 - Montjuich Park  

For the next round of the season 34 we go to Montjuich Park, a street circuit on Montjuich mountain above Barcelona. A twisty tricky circuit, it was the site of the tragic 1975 Spanish Grand Prix. Many drivers felt that the circuit was unsafe, and two time world champion Emerson Fittipaldi withdrew in protest before the start of the race. On lap 26 the Embassy Hill-Lola car of Rolf Stommelen left the track, killing five people. The race was subsequently stopped at half distance and half points awarded, with Jochen Mass being recorded as the winner. Lella Lombardi became the first female driver to score world championship points, taking 0.5 points for 6th place. Formula One never returned to the circuit after the accident.

Tried to join but practice server is set to a password I don't know.  I've tried all the usual ones I'm aware of.

I use this as you can join with 36fps...

Short race ending after 4 turns...

I got Disco'd.

I could not see the flagman at start, he was hidden behind my front wing and all I could see were his legs. I eased forward a little to try and see him. I guess that gave me a false start?
 But for the same reason I could not see my pitboard, which was also masked by the wing so I did not do a Sng to clear the jump start and got DQ'd.

Had good hopes for this race and the Brabham...….not any more lol Hope you guys have fun.

Why you just do not lift fran when you get lapped. fully destroyed the race.

I was totally on my right,is your car that gone in spin and for me was imposible to avoid the crasch.St...guy.

I was in a safe 3rd place cruising to the finish with 5 laps top go and I lost concentration for a split second. Hit the barrier and lost a wheel  :taz:

But he did nothing wrong? Sorry Bastian but he stayed wide and gave you the entire track, You went too deep and span - hardly worth disrupting everyone else's concentration with chat in the middle of the race here.
I had no issues passing Fran - but that did nearly end my race.

Anyway, Well done to Uli on some cracking pace - bad luck to Clive for having far to many wings, and congrats Dave on the final podium spot!. Well done to the remaining finishers, Montjuich is fun but silly hard ;D

Well, if you see this as safe lapping - ok.

I will not waste my time with that any more and retire my seasons.

Just had a look at the Replay. Fran gave all of the Road and the Ferrari spun on his own. There is no one to blame but Mr. Grupp.  :nono:
Now go back to GPLRacer and see if you can  :ban: someone over there.  :thumbup2:

By the way: Gratulations to the Podium and the Finishers!

I am aware of this option Axel, but I kind of like the "scaffolding" look. But after this disaster I might have to reconsider using the low wing option more often  :-\

but I'm very happy to made it HERE on this special track which I like very much and never won before.
It was not easy to hold concentration directly after a hard 42 laps race at Glen with a +0:00,22 s win and above all to have Niki Laudas life and death on my mind, especially at this track. My thoughts often (to often ;) ) whereby by the race of 1975 when Lauda and Regazzoni crashed their Ferraris at first corner, by the 1976 race ...
I'm deeply impressed, this drivers do that in real life and with much quicker cars - a bit suspect – even I forgive Niki that he kills (not only he) the Nordschleife GP. In the 70th I was with Regazzoni when he said: If it's to risky for you drive slowly! But I'm older now and I feel that's the same with Montjuic a real crazy track …
Back to GPL AND the great admin work! A Montjuic event WITHOUT ANY tech probs !!!!! (ok a bit fps probs …) GREAT Job, GRATS ADMINs and HAIL your server ;)

I've loaded the chassis the drivers used into the token calculator spreadsheet.  For the next race the available tokens will be as declared in the table below (the table will also appear in the next race announcement).  The calculated values are automated but selecting the cars is a manual process so please check your tokens to make sure I haven't made a silly error.  There was no token overspend for this round so no one is disqualified.
