Title: Season 35 1966 F1 - Registration
Post by: Phil Thornton on June 08, 2019, 06:30:11 PM +0100
Season 35 - 66F1

The division specific rules are the same as last season. There will be two groups, the faster group of drivers will be classed as "Professional" drivers. The slower group of drivers will be classed as "Amateur" drivers. The divisional moderator will allocate drivers to one or other of the groups at the start of the season.

This poll is for ALL drivers. There is no direct handicap, other than tokens.

Please check the Season 35 pages for details (https://www.simracing.org.uk/smf/index.php?action=LM2R&group=689&theme=6) regarding rules and the 66F1 pages (https://www.simracing.org.uk/smf/index.php?action=LM2R&group=691&theme=6) in particular.

This season, races are to be run again at 60 frames per second – please use this patch 60fpsV2newmod (http://srmz.net/index.php?showtopic=4584#entry33919)

Drivers must complete 50% of each race to score points but tokens are earned for making a race start.

The races will be run as follows:

Car set: 66 F1 only
Date: Every second Tuesday from 9th July 2019
Time: No later than 9:00pm UK Time (30-60 mins practice, race starts at 9:30pm)

The provisional calendar may be changed at the discretion of the Divisional Moderator.

Handicapping
There will be no handicapping.  The tokens system will be used which is actually a chassis levelling system, not a form of handicapping.

There is no red zone for this championship. Drivers are reminded that Lap 1 incidents do carry an extra 1 place penalty.

Only reported incidents will be moderated.

If you would like to enter this series please submit an entry in the poll.

I was suprised by the small break between the seasons and decided to start in some races as a reserve and submitted option 2 last week.

It worked already last week for 65' Race but it seems i'm not free to race in 66 League as i don't see the password - many thx

Tristan (MagicArsouille) seems to have the same issue : he couldn't join the server for Monza race !
I saw nothing wrong in LM2  ???

I was suprised by the small break between the seasons......
We are trying to run future seasons at regular times so that drivers won't get caught out and they can plan their racing well in advance. The provisional dates for the next few seasons are on the UKGPL homepage (https://www.ukgpl.com/index.php).

I think there is something a little weird about the interaction between UKGPL8 and some client PC's.
For several seasons now I have not been able to join UKGPL8 via IGOR and I always get a "you are not qualified" message, although I know that everything is correct.
I have to get the IP address from IGOR, and then launch Multiplayer from within GPL. This method always works without any changes to any settings, so I do not understand why the "not qualified" message should appear. Maybe this is what Tris was experiencing??

This issue is only with UKGPL8 and I don't think I have had any probs with any of our other servers. there is no point asking me why this happens, as I just do not have the knowledge to offer any insights.

Strange this happens only when a PW is set for the races ::)

And allways the same drivers have this problem...

For security I allways copy and paste the PW from the forum to iGOR as host and client.

Maybe there is something wrong with iGOR settings
or
you use a wrong 60fps patch
or
your firewall/AV  blocks this iGOR connection.
or
file indexing is not allowed

But I know that this is not the only server where access is denied, e.g. geli server on fridays, some driver allways have to join via IP

Have signed up as a reserve driver to give Fran some support where I can.

Some Tuesdays are already spoken for.

As far as I know on my PC during any attempt to use IGOR with the problem servers:-

If I watch the log-in process to GPL, the password is indicated as being accepted every time. Then a connection to the server is attempted, followed by a message "you are not qualified to take part in this event".

With my limited knowledge, it seems that the problem must be something that IGOR does not like on the client PC, because every log-in via IP with the GPL MULTIPLAYER option is successful.
I have only had a problem via IP when I reloaded GPL and GEM/IGOR and forgot to install the 60fps patch. Since sorting that, zero problems.

Afaik the 60fps check does not work when you join via IP!

Only 60fpsV2newmod has all the features we want.

Make shure you have only one active GPL folder on your PC, and GEM and iGOR have the same path to this folder...

I have my GEM/options folder attached HERE (https://www.sendspace.com/file/ks51v3)

Great news Tago. Do you have the mod working yet?
