Just a couple of clarifications.
The 65 series will be hosted on the UKGPL10 server.
As this is a combined grid, all drivers are permitted to use 1 Reset, followed by a compulsory Stop & Go.

Hopefully the grid won't suffer due to football semi-final...
(get a video recorder - in your time machine  :) )

Been a long time since I drove a 65 mod car. What I did not realise was that I need to reconfigure the controls. Everything was working fine except the clutch which I found out when I jump started. After a few laps I worked out my pit board man was telling me what I suspected after my Prib position disappeared - DQ'd.

Great to be starting a new season again.
Grats to Tris, Ziu and Axel for their podium places and to all finishers.

I was hoping to be involved at the front and I was confident about lapping in the 1:09's with race fuel, possibly even faster with some slipstream. But that all went wrong at the loop on Lap 1.
The start was a bit messy as the car in front of me bogged down and I was obliged to take to the grass on the inside of T1 to avoid contact. that made me slower up through the Esses. I was side by side with another car heading towards The Loop ( not sure who that was?) and I was going to be on the inside.
Cold tyres, full tanks and being Lap 1, I thought that I should be cautious so that we avoided a crashfest. So I did brake a little early, figuring that it was better to avoid any contact. Unfortunately I was punted from behind and flew into the fencing.
I was fully expecting that wheels would have been removed and that my race was over, but somehow I still had 4 wheels and an engine that worked.

Drove out of the ditch and set off after the field, at least I had 45 laps to chase them down? But it was not to be. The crash had bent the front steering and the car no longer wanted to turn right  :-\.
By the time I reached the end of the first lap my front left tyre was glowing red, with temps up to almost 300F.  The rest of the race was all about managing the temp in that tyre and keeping some grip for those right handers. Mike was also having problems with his Ferrari and our two crippled cars had our own battle for the rest of the race, which was quite entertaining, even if we were both 1-1.5 secs off the pace lol.

Sorry Clive the car behind was me,
I was totaly confused by Gareth's Lotus in front wich zigzagged and warped heavily!
So I had no eye in front of you and was surprised by your early braking...

I was luckier and had no damage, so could do a nice recovery til the end.
Great battle with Bastian who proved his PRO status for the last 20 laps  ;D

Made a good start and gained a few places to 3rd with incidents ahead and a few flickering cars but got punted off after a few laps and was trying to slowly recover up the hill but the track was closer than I thought and collected Gareth. Sorry Gareth.

You could have reset rather than retire.

After that my car was in bad shape and I could push for a couple of laps but the temps went through the roof and I had to back off again because of understeer.

Great chase with Clive that kept it entertaining as I could slowly pull away but when I backed off or made a mistake he caught up again. He was a perfect gent and backed out of a couple of risky potential moves ahead of any right handers until the last lap, but I was able to pass him into the next right hander. Got a bad exit out of the last corner and he almost pipped me to the post but not quite.

All good fun.
