well I can confirm the track and lighting looks stunning  :tt1:

First laps at Spa using ACC, glad to see they finally got Malmedy right in a racing sim!  I tried the RSR and the McLaren, both in the 2:23's so far with 40L fuel, but only done a handful of familiarity laps.

anyone else do any laps? need some benchmarks to aim for. I expect its anything between 2:19-21  :-\  Hopefully jump on again this eve.

I've restarted the server with all three sessions at 21:00

Oops that could have stayed at 10pm, sorry Pete typo. I guess by the time practise and qually are finished it will be fully dark for the race anyway. Its better seeing it get darker as the sessions proceed.  :)

Do really like the dynamic lighting, its been a long time coming in sim racing. Anyone who's been to or watched a longer race event like Spa or Le Mans will appreciate it more.

The server was originally 10pm for P and Q and 2AM (!) for the race. I wasn't sure when it would be dark so wanted to be sure ;)

I can change it to 22:00 if you'd rather. I've made all the sessions the same as otherwise practice and race conditions could be quite different light wise etc.

just tried it for an hour,  low 2.19s here with 60L fuel.  No idea if thats good as I barely played the game and have no benchmark...   I suspect its merely average at best :P

yeh thats weird though, I just completed the last 45 minutes of practice and it was slowly fading light,  but then you jump to qually and it gets lighter again

I would say practice 2100, qually 2200, and race idk, 2200 if you want to start half light and finish (nearly?) dark, or later if you want full dark

Not so keen on Spa pitlane though, if you start in the new(top) half the corner at the first turn is tricky and so very easy to clobber one of the big blocks damaging the car before you even start a lap,  and then driving all the way down the hill through the old pits on the pit limiter

Yeah that's because they use both the old and new pits for Blancpain as there are so many team entries. I did try sneaking between that inviting gap between the bollards but it gave me front end damage  ;D so you have to trundle endlessly through the pits.

knocked 2 secs off my time so in the 21's now and it was full dark, easy to overshoot a braking point  :P

Is it possible to increase the wait time once the session timer went to 0?
Right now it's set at 2 minutes but with laptimes over 2 minutes at Spa it could be possible that you cross the s/f line with 10 seconds left, which should allow you to finish your lap, but due to the 2 minutes time limit you'll be teleported to the pits amid your lap.

On another note: the formation lap is still just one corner and not a full lap like Post 1 indicates

Fair point, it's now 2:30

I still haven't seen how you set this. The server settings documentation is clearly wrong and the bug I reported has not been fixed. First off it's meant to generate empty files if you have none, it does not. It's then meant to add settings missing if you reduce the version number field, it does but adds ones not in the documentation. It doesn't add a setting to change the formation lap format nor does he documentation mention such a feature. And no one else has been forthcoming with a suggested answer the times this has come up before. The results files are still woefully short of data that AC provided and again contains values that are undocumented as impossible to guess.

While doing my regular flight sim stuff last night I noticed ACC updated via Steam and the server executable had a new date/time stamp so I've updated the server this morning. I got excited as the manual was now v2 but it doesn't answer any of the above.

I had that issue.
Then got disco'd 3 times in a row.
Then my wheel stopped responding within half a lap on the next 2 goes.

This is a f****g joke.

You can count me out until it actually bloody works

turned my pc on at 630pm incase of any windows/games updates. all ok until 7:30pm, then PC locks up, upon reboot it starts doing an update  >:( . by the time I managed to get the game going I tried to log on to the server during the end of qually but the game was hanging for about 5 mins and then said it had lost connection to the server  :(

Quitted aswell, only Max and me left on the server and because we were already running late I skipped the last ten minutes.

Otherwise it was another lonely race but at least I could raise my consistency rating up to 97 lol  ;D

another disaster night then. ::) Surprised at the discos etc, I've not had that happen once with ACC  ???  There was a big windows update tonight so whether that caused you guys issues?

I had no problems other than the lead guys crashing on turn 1 of lap 1  ::)  How did you manage that with so few cars?  I arrived at 200kmh and there is a Bentley parked on the apex  :taz: had front end damage that fubared me for the rest of the race.  :( With 13 mins left the car was getting worse and had nobody to race so I departed. Poor old Max was about a minute up ahead on his tod.

@spanner, jeez that Bentley is quick at Spa!  :o  though I had bad top end due to the aero damage, but it left me standing out of the corners/down the straights.

LOL,  I was sat there driving around for the last 10 minutes wondering if my connection had dropped or what (I never saw any message).

Also,  IDK what the happened but on lap 1 part way round I suddenly had a huge vibration on the left front wheel, braking and right hand turns were horrid after that, but I didn't hit anything and didn't have any warning about tyre pressures or any radio message about car damage, so just kept going. Totally ruined my race pace though..

What the heck is that about, random mechanical damage, or another game bug?

haha,  now you say that that is how it felt,  but that hows how little I played the game - not had that happen before and just didn't expect it to happen with ABS...

yeah you get messages from your race engineer telling you if a tyre is deflating/low pressure/damage etc. Not a bug.

Spa looked amazing getting steadily darker in the race  8)  Not so keen on the huge flashing driver names when you get close though! bit of an atmos killer  :P

V key turns off driver names I think.

No trouble finding the server this week, but also had a disco or two once on it. Shame about the first lap with half the field taken out. Kept the cars ahead in sight for awhile running in P3, and then it all went bad when I had a silly spin and lost touch. Decided to slow to let the cars behind catch up, only to have another low speed spin at the last corner and got beached on a kerb, completely stuck. Ah well. Still enjoying it though (mostly) despite the problems..

Here's another streak of genius, the only person mentioned in the race results file from ACC was Max. So no idea what order the rest were in as you quit, so 2 downwards is ordered based on qualifying  ::)

There must be something we are missing for result export as they have used it for huge online events.  ???

Irrelevant here anyway as it was a total non-race event due to low turn out and then half the field getting wiped out at the end of the Kemmel straight on lap 1  :hammer:

For a start NFSW was driving a Nissan GTR  :P, but that just sounds like a mess.  I'd be happy to have a look at the log files and see what sense I can make of them, as I wrote the whole log parsing / results system for nogripracing years ago in AC,  if that helps?

As for racing ACC,  after that experience from the driving perspective I'd be happy to race it regularly,  but they really need to fix the disconnect and log problems before it can be used seriously. Losing several players to connection problems before the race even starts is no good.

How about running another series of modern cars in AC alongside the Lolas for the next couple of months and then come back to it,  by which time they will hopefully have ironed out the issues  ???

this is probably way too simple but has anyone looked in Documents\Assetto Corsa Competizione\Results after the race?

Every file is written at the end of the relative session (the index is about racing weekends). No, they are just timing results, to keep info about the racing event you need to manage the config/seasonEntity.json

from one of the devs.

This seems to be another game that is poorly optimised  and not ready for a formal release. I run a seperate USB LCD telling my cpu and gpu usage. In practise my CPU usage was 99% and i would get moments were it lagged abit as the PC struggled to keep up with what was going on, and it reset itself as it lost connection over usb to the PC. This might have been your issue NSFW? Do you have alot of USB connections?

I play another game, Division 2 which i have the same issue, and its known to be an issue with i5 processors just being able to cope with so much, some i7's and their hyperthreading dont have any issues.

I dont know if it was related but i find the tyres, car handling a bit strange; some laps i could brake fine others i would just be going too fast in and the tyres have little warning. Either this is an accurate model for the Pirelli's or not...

After the crash early on i was getting bored so slowed to join MArk on track. Yes it was noticable i could carry more speed in some corners and seems a bit faster down the straight. Despite not using 6th lol

Not sure what you're referring to, fortunately I've had no issues this time  :D
Only major problem I had with ACC so far was the recurring disconnection during the first test race at Zolder, which was due to my internet connection. After switching to my lan-connection again this was fixed.
