This is totally off topic, how many racing here use VR because according to one of the devs at Kunos it is  "a novelty feature used by a fraction of an already small community, nothing less, nothing more". Wish they had told me that before they took my money. :'( :'(

Personally I only race in VR now, wouldn't want to go back. If you've got a link to that topic on their forum I'll go say the same thing there.

Well I definitely prefer it, but from that discussion on there today all I get is that its UE4 that causes the bad fps and image quality and there's nothing they can really do


not 100% convinced buying that monitor was worth it, might just play AC for ever in VR and end up like one of those guys who still play GPL now and insist nothing is better  ;D

I don't use VR just because my hardware is too old. When I will change my PC I will go in VR with no doubts.

VR is also so used in air sim., it is now replacing the old sytems like Track IR (or similar).

Any set up tips, I blew it up the last race and done the same here in practice offline.

drive the ford, not the chevy, its a go kart in comparison, and dont rev it past 6500(7000 for chevy) ish in general

I abuse the absolute crap out of the Ford, it doesn't generate engine damage below the Rev limiter so seems fine along as you manage your downshifts ok.
Chevy starts to hurt around 7500 and the limiter is somewhere above that.
If you stick with the chevy remember to keep under 7500 (change around 7000, especially the early gears) and make damn sure it can't get above 7500 in top anywhere.

Driving wise they understeer horrifically, this is actually useful but you need to drive around it - wait until you can open up on corner exits, this is normally later than you think but will make you much faster onto straights.

I'm still getting my head around how useful the aero is so not sure to comment yet, I've generally run more front than rear when I've actually had wings at all...

Brake early and concentrate on getting the car pointed into the apex,  wait till you're sure it is all lined up nicely, then feed in the power and fire it down the next straight.  The important bit is braking early and under control so you can nail that apex every time!   Braking too late will either make you go straight on and miss the turn OR if you lift the brakes too soon to make the turn it will turn in too hard and then try to spin.

Nothing obvious in the log files to say there's a problem.

The entire lobby was down.

Glad it's ok now. Sadly I'll not be joining again, I was running late and then had to make a phone call after launching the server. Added to a 40 min race, no practice and a poorly leg I'm wimping out.

Ah, I wondered what happened to you Bob. Shame, as that first half was fun, with a few of us battling. Just after you retired I hit a cone which strangely threw me off track and wrecked my car. Second half was a bit lonely after that.
