Title: Autumn GT2/GTE Endurance series - Final details
Post by: SRW on September 02, 2019, 08:23:30 PM +0100
Here are the Final details for the new series starting on 15th September, I have deleted the old thread to avoid any confusion.

Starting on Sunday September 15th we will be doing a 7 Race Bi-Weekly mini Enduro series:

Race Format:
7:45pm Practice
8:30pm Qualifying
8:45pm Race (50 minute with compulsory pitstop for either Tyres/Fuel or both)

Cars:
BMW M3 GT2
Corvette C7R GTE
Ferrari 458 GT2
Porsche 911 RSR 2017

Circuits:

Round 1. Donington GP 15/9/19
Round 2. Sebring 29/9/19
Round 3. Spa Francorchamps 13/10/19
Round 4. Road America 27/10/19
Round 5. Nürburgring GP 10/11/19
Round 6. Interlagos 24/11/19
Round 7. Le Mans 8/12/19

Scoring Scheme:
All rounds count
Points: 25, 18, 15, 12, 10, 8, 6, 4, 2, 1

Car choice is free, but to keep in the spirit of things it would be nice if everyone stuck to one car and just changed over if they really dont get on with their chosen first choice

PLEASE NOTE

Ballast - We will start the season with no ballast but if there is a clear advantage after the first few races we may ballast car types (but not individual drivers)

Race distance - depending on turnout and peoples opinions we may change the race distance

The pitstop will be 'Blancpain style' with a 10 minute window during the middle of the race

How about just a gentlemans agreement that non of the fastest guys will take the 911,  then ballast wont be necessary (and maybe gives others a chance to close the gap a little )   :)

great cars on some cool tracks. I doubt i will be able to make every round but will try and attend some. 50mins races with a Rift might just be too far for my eyes as i struggle even with 40min races.
Most (if not all) of these cars are vastly improved using the fonsecker sound mods, really brings them alive.  8)

I'll probably be in a Ferrari  :)

There is no need to register, just turn up on the night and enjoy this new series!

Rolling start, you need to get some heat in the tyres, no ABS on these beasts!

i found the braking the most clumsy when i had a brief go last night, forgot how different these are to drive over what we've raced for ages. Also found my setups had too high tyre pressures so the later tyre model must have reduced them all by almost half!  :o

GPL is a far greater challenge than AC.
Here I just race people, there I have to actually make sure my car is capable of finishing - Due to the Rift I do much less racing in GPL but just can't imagine not having to face that challenge from time to time.

Plus none of the GT2's can compare with how nice the Alfa 33 is to race :P
