Title: UKGTL Season 19 1972 French Formula 3 - Paul Ricard - Dec 2
Post by: Wiltshire Tony on September 27, 2019, 03:28:36 PM +0100
Championship standings HERE (https://www.simracing.org.uk/smf/index.php?action=LM2R&group=752&theme=5)

Grid/server capacity: 22

Track: Paul Ricard (Long 70-99)

Cars allowed: Alpine A364

Practice: ~19:20 (60 mins)
Qualifying: 20:20 (20 mins)
Race: 20:40 (20 laps)

Time of Day Setting: 14:00
Start: STANDING
Tyre wear: Normal
Fuel consumption: Normal
Pit stops required: No

Server: simracing.org.uk Mondays
Password: see above (#post_event_password)

Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules.
(3) The AI control should be turned off so that you have control of the car at all times, including pitting. Your player file should therefore read
Autopit="0"
Force Autopit Off="1" // Forces autopit always off
No AI Control="1" // AI never has control over car
If you still finding pitting problematic, experience tells us that its less to do with positioning and more to do with approach speed. A slow approach to pit crew chief has proved most reliable.

Special Notes: None

Quote
Track: Paul Ricard (Long 70-99)
I have Paul Ricard 75 & Paul Ricard 88 tracks...
I assume the one we will use is the 75 one (longer). Is this correct ?

I have created a 2nd server for French F3 practice sessions -  UKGTLM3
Standard practice password.

It is currently running all 3 remaining tracks, move it on to the one you want.
I will remove each track when the normal server start to run it.

One more evening to forget...
Bumped into Geoffers (again!) when he was nose to nose with nocatu and I had no time to avoid him.  :(
Then the race was a bit lonely for a few laps, except for being passed by Geoffers then nocatu then Geoffers again (after our own off's).
All of a sudden Geoffers seemed to leave the track, but maybe it was just me being disconnected, as I saw Connection lost a few seconds later. :o
Disconnects rarely happened to me in the past and this time it was clearly a problem with my ISP as there was no internet at home for a few minutes... Oh well!
This was not my best race anyway, and I really do not "understand" some of the turns on this fast track.

Thanks to Osni I could at least follow the end of the race  ;)

It's donation time again folk's and due to some admin difficulties, we need to make up a bigger shortfall than usual as we accidentally let one quarter slip.

Had a new setup for this race which seemed to make the tyres last a bit better. However a coming together with Nocatu on lap 1 (totally my fault), & a couple more early errors lost me too much time to the leaders. Pulled back quite a lot of time on the front 3 in the second half of the race but still finished a distant 4th.

Congrats to Osni, Dan & Rog on the podium.
