Title: UKGPL Season 35 (2019) 1967 SCx - Le Mans by night - Oct 27 Post by: Cookie on October 24, 2019, 07:14:40 PM +0100 Season 35 Sport Cars Extra Cup – Round 7– Le Mans by night
The 7th round of the Season 35 SCx races finds us at Le Mans, we will be racing the night version because of the better stability. The 24 Hours of Le Mans (French: 24 Heures du Mans) is the world's oldest active sports car race in endurance racing, held annually since 1923 near the town of Le Mans, France. It is one of the most prestigious automobile races in the world and is often called the "Grand Prix of Endurance and Efficiency". The event represents one leg of the Triple Crown of Motorsport; other events being the Indianapolis 500, and the Monaco Grand Prix. The Sports Cars Extra mod is new for UKGPL this season. Please check the Season 35 pages for details (https://www.simracing.org.uk/smf/index.php?action=LM2R&group=689&theme=6) regarding rules and the Sports Cars Extra pages (https://www.simracing.org.uk/smf/index.php?action=LM2R&group=693&theme=6) in particular. Drivers must complete 50% of each race to score points. Each driver must select two cars at the start of his season. The choices must be declared in the race post for the first round you compete in. - Professional drivers, the combined ranking points for the cars should amount to at least 6 points. - Amateur drivers, the combined ranking points for the cars should amount to at least 5 points. The car with the higher rank points must be used at least as many times as the car with the lower rank points.
Car choices so far:

I am suspecting that the removal of the brake bug has made the newer cars more driveable? and therefore they might be giving faster laptimes??

I was at an actual ****up in a brewery last night and was shooting this morning - add that to the clocks going later and I'm already shattered! are the cars in the new Sports Car mod faster or slower than the old GT cars. Faster. But the differences seem to be dependent on the track and car choices. The 2F is much faster at LeMans. The MK4 at LeMans seems about the same but a little easier to drive. I easily shattered my Ring time in the Ferrari 330. I haven't been able to tell if the Mk1 is any faster than the old mod. I damaged the car on lap 1 (engine down on power) and limped on for 5 or 6 laps before I ended up beached on sand bank and had to take a shift R. Did a S&G and ended up in a close battle with Fran. Car was good but I damaged it again. This time the steering was very unstable especially under braking. I managed to keep going in the war of attrition with Fran until I lost control on a slow corner and beached the car again. Out of the race ???
Amazing pace up front with Greg and Axel. Grats on getting the better of me in the Privateers Fran. It was a matter of who made the least mistakes would win, it was you ;D Title: Re: UKGPL Season 35 (2019) 1967 SCx - Le Mans by night - Oct 27 Post by: EvilClive on October 27, 2019, 10:33:26 PM +0000 After a tangle with Tris on the Mulsanne, I took a Shift R and a SnG, but I see that PRO drivers are not allowed that, so a DQ for me :(

I didn‘t recognize that the track to night was Le Mans Night since I want to log in ::) . So I had a bit stress - download, installation a.s.o. That's why I was late at practice. My first lap on this track in practice felt great. To see the big moon and the stars for the first time was impressive - I turned off the light and enjoyed night racing ;D - but some breaking zones looked different! It was clear quickly, that Greg and Axel (what a high speed!!!) were driving in a world of their own. So I only want hold position and see the checkered flag this time. But Tristan and Evil closed the gap with giant steps. Tristan overtook me coming out of the slipstream at lap 7 and one lap later I did the same with him. At that moment, direct behind me, he and Evil crashed again - a horrorble high speed crash at the Hunaudières - two drivers' death! :angel-wings: I‘m happy with my consistency, the lucky third and to survive my first night race. sorry again for the contacts Clive ... :/ Title: Re: UKGPL Season 35 (2019) 1967 SCx - Le Mans by night - Oct 27 Post by: fpolicardi on October 30, 2019, 01:28:29 AM +0000 A strange race for me, I hadn't any clue what position I was neither were the other cars. I had to disable my G27 shifter in GplShift cause it doesn't hold 5th and it shifts to third by itself during qually so that I blew two engine. After have set NONE shifter Pribluda Keys didn't work anymore and neither extended lateral view. Only Zoom Keys set in GplShift worked, so I was in the dark for all the race cause also the pitboard wasn't visible.
I was involved in a crash with two cars that had a contact at the end of the long straight at early race, but I don't know who they were. Ciao |
