Nice movie. Maybe too focused on the races for a wide audience. The lives of Shelby and Miles could be told more in the movie, in my opinion.

Went to see it yesterday afternoon (the joy of being retired  ;D). Thoroughly enjoyed it. Obviously it suffers from some Hollywood overdramatisation & has several factual inaccuracies but it is in my opinion one of the best racing movies for a long time, really conveys how dangerous racing was in the 1960s. Go see it. :thumbup1:

I don't know if you have Netflix, but last week (in the afternoon; joy of being retired) I watched a two hour documentary about Carrol Shelby. It's called Shelby America and is well worth seeking out. Loads of interviews with his contemporary's, great video footage and wonderful cars.

Luckily this film was offered on a recent long haul flight. Thoroughly enjoyed it, and although some liberties were taken by Hollywood, I thought it to be well worth the watch.

Half the fun for a saddo like me was trying to identify the tracks used instead of the actual tracks that have long since gone.

Did you work out what the tracks were? I think the Riverside shots were done at Willow Springs & Road Atlanta was used for most of the Le Mans shots. I understand the Mulsanne Straight stuff was done on a public road in the US.

In case you missed it there was a documentary on BBC4 last week about the making of the Steve McQueen Le Mans movie, should be able to get it on catch-up.

Oh! I thought Bridgehampton was used quite a lot.

I don't think Bridgehampton exists anymore, seem to recall it is now a golf course.
