Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules.
(3) The AI control should be turned off so that you have control of the car at all times, including pitting. Your player file should therefore read
Autopit="0"
Force Autopit Off="1" // Forces autopit always off
No AI Control="1" // AI never has control over car
If you still finding pitting problematic, experience tells us that its less to do with positioning and more to do with approach speed. A slow approach to pit crew chief has proved most reliable.

Special Notes: Cuts will be turned off for this race.

I have foolishly downgraded my system to Win10. It runs in compatibility mode, I can launch local practice with either  Pork904-4
or the Elan, yet both say "car not present on server" Do I need to do anything special to fix this in Win10?
Help  ::)

Just ran a test and the cars are there on the server. I don't think you need to do anything special cos of W10 except run as admin and in compatibility mode.

Is your GTL set to Professional mode?

Are you choosing a Porsche 904/6?

Lol, not having much luck tonight at all, can't get on the server to race, now I go to download the track for this and get a 404 on the link so can't get that either....

Did I offend someone? The answer to that is usually yes to be fair, but I meant here....  :surrender:

It was a nice race, even though I always struggle with this track. As an (almost) one-eyed driver, I just don't see some corners very well. But then it was still quite ok, I only felt really sorry for Coyote on the last lap. I will definitely be back at the next "classic" race track. Congratulations to Dimitar, he was a class of his own today

Glück auf!

It was great to see Micha and Fulvio back. :)

I am very delighted with my setup here. I made the car as faster on the straights as possible, with max tire pressure, 1 spliter and rear wing, and i compensated with the other settings available to have more grip on the corners.

I knew the track very well, as i drove it on Altbierbude. Schottenring quickly become one of my favorite circuits so i couldn't wait for the race to begin.

At the qualy i hit Coyote and Geoffers unfortunately at the formation lap. Sorry guys it wasn't intentional. I made two not so good laps, but maybe it was based on the lower amount of fuel and more oversteer. But i was able to make new PB and took the pole. Coyote was very fast, just 2 seconds behind, and Geoff very fast and consistent on the races, so i knew it will be tough battle with them, espcially that i was not comfortable pushing the cars to it's limit because of the little oversteer.

At the start i was able to stay in P1, as Geoff made great start from P3 and took the second position. Unfortunately Coyote made big mistake and went to P9.

I was a little bit faster than Geoffers but he was definitely more consistent. I was clearly faster on the straights, but at the slowest corners he was able to minimize that. We were driving with basically the same pace but unfortunately Geoff made a mistake, or something happened, and he had to retire. After that i knew that i just need to stay away from trouble and i will win. And  that happened.

I am really delighted with the win because it is at one of my favorite circuits.

Thanks, but you should feel sorry for me on the first lap - on the last, I believe it was Clive you went past (and should be sorry for..)  ;)

Yep, I got the line wrong through the little ess-bend just after the S/F, lost control & went up the bank. Unfortunately I ended up behind the fence & could not find a way out, so had to retire. Excellent pace DD. :notworthy:

Congrats to the podium.

This is a track that is often used in GPL, so it held no surprises for me  except for how quick the Elan was after a few setup tweaks.

First big apologies to Tony for the inexcusable nerf during qually  :death: A total lack of judgement on my part when I was much quicker through the previous corner and I thought ( for a moment) that I could carry that pace to make a pass. Instead, I just avoided rear ending Tony and then put 2 wheels on the grass and all control went out the window!!  So I retired to pits and aborted any attempt at a qualifying lap  as the least that I could do.

The start for me went well and I quickly gained a few places, admiring Erling's excursion on to the grass, until I caught Matt and Fulvio. Managed a pass around the outside of Matt on one of the long right hand sweeps and then found Fulvio defending his position. I was almost caught out by his braking points a couple of times before I think he allowed me a pass rather than risk an incident?

Then I passed Geoffers checking the inner face of the fence??!!  I guess,  whatever blows your skirt up ???.

I was now in 2nd with zero chance of catching DD, so just tried to maintain the pace that I had. But, I could see Erling making his recovery and his qually time indicated that he could easily close the gap.
With 2 laps to go I thought that I might just cling on to 2nd spot, but then my tyres just lost all grip?? HUD showed them at about 25% worn ( certainly NOT into the red ). The car was understeering into corners and then if I lifted I got snap oversteer as the tail swung around.
The last 2 laps were a comedy of errors on my part with multiple spins allowing Erling and Micha to pass.
Nice of you to commiserate guys but do not deny that there was a hint of a smile as you passed my stranded car....I could see it even behind your helmets  :-\

Error after error best describes my race.  Seeing the aliens all congregating in the 904, I decided to use the Elan, to hopefully score some points in its class, where I'm far behind. For me there was nothing between the cars - my best laps offline in each one were a mere ½ sec apart.

Tbh I did not expect to be 2nd quickest, but the one hotlap I managed in a compromised qual, knocked almost 4 secs off my pb. Don't think I could have done that in the Porker, as it always felt the more nervous of the two.

Lost a place to Geoffers at the start, and then a tiny mistake with big effect sent me from 3rd to 9th and very much last.  Caught and past Kurt recovering after a moment, and Tony most graciously waved me through in the cobblestone section. Next I had to watch in horror in my mirrors as he dove into the creek that can so easily end your race, but by some miracle he got out again. Hadn't planned it, but flew past Matt going into the bends after the start, when he braked earlier than expected.  Next caught Fulvio and got past in one of the fast sections, only to screw up under braking, handing back the position.  Then got the aforementioned bends all wrong and spun the car, losing another place, to Matt.  Why make things easy for yourself..  ::)

Gained a place by Micha almost repeating my first mistake. Got past Matt again when he ran wide in a corner. Gained one more place by Geoffers mishap. Seemed completely unresonable in the replay - it's as if the game puts him on the wrong side of the fence almost as an afterthought!    Next had a good battle with Fulvio, which sadly ended when he ran wide and got stuck at the entry to Rudingshain.  Not sure I could catch Clive some 15 secs ahead, but did reel him in and he most kindly performed a pirrouette when I got close, making the pass easy.  Then my turn for another stupid braking mistake, slamming into the guard rail and letting Clive get up close again.  Managed to avoid any more bigger mistakes for the remaining distance, holding on to 2nd.

Grats to Dimitar on a commanding win & Micha for completing the podium.  Commiserations to the unfortunate ones.

It was great to see Micha and Fulvio back. :)

This it was a break from my choir practice that we have restarted on September, unluckily I'll be able to join rarely again on Wednesday.
Stay safe
