This month's 'PC Gamer' (UK edition) says they will have a demo AND review of GTR2 coming in the next issue which is available on July 7  :thumbup2:

I hope it's true! They don't usually pull things that are promised in he previous edition so fingers crossed!

Hope there will be a demo out on the internet before the magazine comes out.

They might have an exclusive but that doesn't happen often.

I'm not sure GTR2 is mainstream enough to warrent an exclusive either so I hope you are right Ruskus!

Let's hope so. Then the demo should be there within 5 weeks at the most? That's way too long for me. Can't wait that long ::). Let's hope it's only 1 week ;)

It wont be multiplayer cause you need a Key to play online in GTL/GTR so I would doubt this would be any different.

Fingers crossed. If they are still planning to release the game this summer then a demo can't be far away. Hopefully it will go up on the internet first....

Well, finally finished reading that very meaty article. Salivating at the prospect of GTR2 even more now.

New goodies out of that article for me are:
1) The varying drying line dependant on where cars are driving. Just what the doctor ordered. That is really great stuff.
2) Release date looks like early september, depending on how the testing goes.
3) Multiplayer has been improved over GTL, which can only be a good thing. 28-30 cars looking good online at the moment. That's plenty of cars in my opinion. 36 or 52 sounds great on the marketing sheet, but do you really want to race most circuits with that many cars?
4) Rewritten tyre model.
5) Optimised graphics engine above what GTL gave us.

Also interesting to hear about the development of GTR etc.

Codename Falcon is intriguing. Must be a virtual reality gateway to Nurburgring in a Ferrari Enzo with full pseudo-physical interaction I reckon. Just hook me in and turn me on.  :P ;D

Err, that only mentioned single player, not multiplayer. There are weight penalties in single player in GTR1.

Will that demo (if at all) be only out in PC gamer or also for download. I don't know if we can get PC gamer here.

I'm a PC Gamer subscriber and I usually get it the day of publication, sometimes it takes a day or two to appear in the shops.

Unfortunately, my post comes way after I leave for work so I've no idea if has turned up today.

I think though that Andy G was dropped a pretty strong hint that the GTR2 isn't in PC Gamer this month :(

Grand Am Cup races in the United States have upwards of 75 cars in them.  At Mid Ohio there would have been more (if you can believe that) but the pit stalls were limited to 75 so during qual they actually had to eliminate 5 cars.  I don't know if it's a USA mentality thing that bigger is better...seems to me that Euro race series have smaller fields, but 24-30 cars online is definately more than enough.  There were like 60+ cars in the Rolex Daytona Prototype race and I remember the camera crews interviewing Eddie Cheever and him disgustedly yelling that "this isn't racing, it's bumper cars out there!"

I have gottent to know some of the drivers in the Grand Am Cup series and when you talk to them and their crews, I don't think any of them actually like racing in that environment.  There is so much pressure to get ahead of the field that it almost turns into combat on the track, and there does not seem to be the policing in the US of drivers and behavior.

Le Mans, sure its only one race, but it's kinda important :)

Hi Guys    I used to look after a water mill when I worked at the farm museum. The hooks used to balance the mill stones are called tenter hooks and if you can imagine getting the balance of over a ton of stone is pretty important so I think the exspression has built up over the centuries. The french burr stone for hard grains are made up in sections bound in iron , these are likely to burst if run unbalanced. The old boys even got down to the weight of a coin ,replaceing this with lead when satisfied. Arnt I a booring old b*****r for remembering this stuff. Mind you I had to explian it every day for three years to visitors. gerald

New PC Gamer was in Smiths this morning. Single page preview of GTR2 and no sign of the demo so I left it on the shelf.

Ah well, I guess that's no surprise really.

Dont want to p*ss on everybodys parade but my inside source told me GTR2 wouldnt be out until september.  :(  I was told that about a month ago now, so things may have changed but i havent heard to the contrary since.  :'(

September/October is what they said in that AutoSimSport thing too. Don't think anyone thought it would be out in July.

I'm guessing but I assume there will be a minimum of 4-6 weeks from the release of the demo to the full game so there's a while to go yet.

Oooh what will be first, GTR2 or NKpro patch?

That is nasty indeed. You gonna get 2 GT cars (not good for NGT fanboys  ;)) against 16 opponents at Barca. Would have been nice to try a new track, at least Barca has got 1 low speed corner to test new physics.

I get the feeling they don't want to give us any new content just a look at the new engine really. I guess the philosophy is that you are more likely to buy the full game if you get new stuff in it. I'll be buying it anyway so perhaps they can ship me a special demo version? ;)

The demo will have the GPC 575 and the DAMS Lambo at the Barcelona track. And you can drive against 15 opponents.

I havn't read much of this thread but will it be on the GTR website for download or do you need to buy the issue of PC Gamer?

Gamespot.com has the exclusive demo. But that's just BS. You can download the demo from anywhere tomorrow evening.
