Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules.
(3) The AI control should be turned off so that you have control of the car at all times, including pitting. Your player file should therefore read
Autopit="0"
Force Autopit Off="1" // Forces autopit always off
No AI Control="1" // AI never has control over car
If you still finding pitting problematic, experience tells us that its less to do with positioning and more to do with approach speed. A slow approach to pit crew chief has proved most reliable.

Special Notes: None.

The track download link gives me an error 404. I suspect most people already have the track?

Looking ahead to the last track in this series, Lakeside, of the two download links, one is error 404 and the other warns of a potential security risk. Please help.

Sorry about that Andy. Both links now replaced with working ones. Disregard any warning about "cannot be downloaded securely". They both come from me and are perfectly safe to use.

It was a choice between the AC & the Merc for this race. Testing showed the Merc to be a bit faster & easier to drive than the AC, so that is what I went with.

Qually was a bit frustrating as I never got a clean lap, always made an error somewhere so had to settle for the 2nd row on the grid. Didn't improve my position at the start but moved up to 3rd when Ziu went off at the end of Park Straight. Tailed Daz for a few laps until he got out of shape at Barn allowing me to pass along the S/F straight & set out after Erling. Closed the gap down to just over a second over the next few laps but then the tyres started to get past their best & I struggled to maintain my pace. Grip became more & more sketchy & eventually I skated off the track at Charlies & dropped back to 3rd behind Daz. Remaining laps were more about keeping the car on the black stuff than going fast, but had enough of a gap back to Matt that my place wasn't in danger.

Congrats to Erling & Daz.

Track has always been a favorite of mine, and the Healey 100 was huge fun to slip-slide around here.

Despite having improved my Healey setup since my last outing with it here in 2017, I initially struggled with matching my qual time from back then.  With some more praccy & a tweak to the gearing, the times dropped however, and I dipped into the 32's for the first time.  Still surprised to land pole, even with the reduced grid, as there was still a complement of aliens present.

Retained the place at the start, and after Ziu's premature exit, the main pressure would be from Daz & Geoffers. About a quarter into the race, I was feeling snug in the lead, with a 4-sec gap, but a less than stellar lap lost me 1 sec of this gap. Not worried, as there was a clear reason, but got a frown on my face after the following, not slow lap, when the gap had dropped further. Closer check of the mirrors revealed the chaser to be Geoff's Silver Arrow, rather than Daz.  Clearly the race was far from won yet, and I had to try and up the pace.

Tyres were now less than pristine, especially the left front.  Had only tested to about 10 laps worth of wear, so had to wing it, while trying to maximize my speed.  Despite my best efforts, Geoffers kept creeping closer.  Gap was down to 1.5 secs when it was at its smallest, but then thankfully started to go the other way again.  About lap 20, it was back around 3-4 secs, when it suddenly jumped to 11+ secs.  Obviously Geoffers had gone off, and later IFF tags showed he had dropped back behind Daz again.  Gave me a much needed breather, as the gap to Daz was holding or growing a little each lap, even after slacking a little off the kamikaze pace.

Nice for a change to be able to compete with the aliens.  Grats to Daz & Geoffers for their podiums.  Commiserations to early retirements Ziu & Kurt - hope your back gets better soon Kurt!

Yes, good fun in the AC as well to be fair, although it just wouldn't quite give me the laptime I was after....

My quali lap was fairly stellar in my own terms, kept the unruly thing mostly pointing the right way and at good pace, but it was almost a fluke in a couple of corners to be fair..... so wasn't sure I would be able to be anywhere near it in the race, and hold on to the tires at the same time.

Decent start, watched Ziu fly off to then be 2nd, but just couldn't hold on to Erling in the Healey. Particularly as Geoff was being a pest in the mirrors at the same time, probably constantly laughing at my unruly car which was steadfast in it's refusal to be straight most of the time, and I found the laptime just wouldn't come to me. Eventually just ran a little wide which allowed Geoff through. Frankly, I should have let him through earlier as a battle between him and Erling might have slowed them both down for me. Geoff pulled away gently despite my best efforts, and I tried to calm down a little for the sake of the tires, which slowed me a little but made a good difference to the wear rate. This had a benefit as I began to hold the gap to Geoff eventually, then he was slowly coming back towards me for a lap or two, followed by seeing him off inspecting the daisies to the left. This put me in a fairly comfortable 2nd, but there was no way to compete with the pace that Erling had, and he took a well deserved win. Good fun throwing it around though, enjoyed it.

 8)

Grats Erling to a commanding win & thanks for your wishes.
It's more or less a chronic thing (wear), sometimes worse sometimes less bad,
which long-term will only be cured by one or more surgeries ...  :-[
