Password: see above (#post_event_password)

Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules.
(3) The AI control should be turned off so that you have control of the car at all times, including pitting. Your player file should therefore read
Autopit="0"
Force Autopit Off="1" // Forces autopit always off
No AI Control="1" // AI never has control over car
If you still finding pitting problematic, experience tells us that its less to do with positioning and more to do with approach speed. A slow approach to pit crew chief has proved most reliable.

Special Notes: None.

Will be away this week and will miss all races scheduled, returning on 24 February (participation doubtful).
Fasting again  :P. This time 10 days and not only one week.

Have fun.

Thought I'd use this thread as this is the most recent post.

(re-)introducing Peter Greendike.
Peter and I have been mates since our schooldays. He's a great fan of the traditional English car and Jaguar is his favourite, At one time in his life he owned a Lotus Elite as a hobby car. I thought it a crampy, noisy car of poor build quallity but ,I must admit, it was  facsinating to drive. Lack of time and space made him decide to sell it. The new owner turned it into a magnificent racing car, a bit of a shame I think because there aren't  too many original Elites left. Peter's wife loves English cars too. That's why she drives a mid sized Japanese car. We can't have going out in a not always 100% reliable car,she claims. Peter insists in keeping his Jag. That's how families end up having two cars while one would 've been more than enough. Blame it on the Japanese.
Where Peter lives it's not easy to set up an online game set and so he makes the 1 hour trip to my place for a good night's racing with UKGTL. You may have guessed that I have a double gameset. We roughly do this once a month combining things with a good dinner and a glass of wine.
Ofcourse, for lack of the daily practice most of us have, he is a bit less skillful than most of us are(not counting as referred to by Tony:  (Dan's) senior moments). But he enjoys our races immensely.
So we won't see Peter as often as us regulars but he's always looking forward to his next visit.
Cheers, Dan

A warm (re)welcome to Peter - hope he'll get some enjoyable races with us - and preferably a little longer than the one yesterday..  ::)

What Jaguar does he have ?   A few years ago, on a trip to Scotland with some fellow petrol heads, I had the pleasure of driving a 4.2 E-Type CoupĂ© (and a Triumph Stag, TR-6 & Caterham).  Something quite magical about the view from the wheel of the Jaguar - the louvres & bulge in that mile-long bonnet, and the 3 tiny wipers..  :)  Was my first drive in a RHD car, so very nervous; didn't fancy being the one to smash an E-Type, but thankfully all went well  :sweatdrop:

Cheers,
Erling G-P aka Coyote in-game.

Welcome to Peter. I think that he has appeared on the grid before? as the name seems familiar?, but let's make it official and say Hi  ;)

I trust that Dan will give Peter the benefit of his considerable experience...especially his launch technique from the grid??. But if Peter is used to driving a Jag, then these muscle cars will be simple  ::)

Hoping to be there tonight. As some of you may have read on the RRE forum, I have a new Win10 PC but cannot get my G29 wheel to work correctly on it, basically I cannot get FFB to work. Will probably fire up my old PC for tonight's races, but have absolutely no practice for them.

Sorry I didn't make it on Monday, it was something straight out off the EvilClive book of computer knowhow.  :P

Didn't get the G29 running on the new PC so connected up the old one, fired it up, but after about 30s it suddenly died  ???. After some head scratching I found I hadn't fully pushed the power cable in ::). So restarted, but because of the sudden loss of power it wanted to check out the drives before it started, decided on the 'skip' option & allowed it to carry on booting up. Got to the login screen & what happens, mouse won't work, argh. Unplug mouse & plug it in again, still nothing, decide to restart PC. Restart, skip drive check, get to login, still no mouse operation. Having spent all afternoon trying to get the wheel to work, by now I have had enough of computers, turn it off & go & have a beer.

Have now sorted the mouse issue by running the drive check on start up, so if necessary the old PC should be OK for tonight's race. Still not solved the G29 on new PC problem, but have something else to try this afternoon, I will get it to work if it kills me. Any ideas Clive?  ;D
