Season 36 1967F1 – Round 1 –  Monaco - Seniors

Welcome to the opening race of Season 36 which will be a joint series between GPL Brazil and UKGPL. This post is for the Senior level drivers.

The Monaco Grand Prix has been run since 1929, and is widely considered to be one of the most important and prestigious automobile races in the world, alongside the Indianapolis 500 and the 24 Hours of Le Mans (informally known as the Triple Crown of Motorsport). The circuit has been called "an exceptional location of glamour and prestige." The race is held on a narrow course laid out in the streets of Monaco, with many elevation changes and tight corners as well as a tunnel, making it one of the most demanding tracks in Formula One. In spite of the relatively low average speeds, it is a dangerous place to race.
The first race in 1929 was won by William Grover-Williams driving a Bugatti. The event was part of the pre-Second World War European Championship and was included in the first Formula One World Championship in 1950. It was designated the European Grand Prix two times, 1955 and 1963, when this title was an honorary designation given each year to one grand prix race in Europe. Graham Hill was known as "Mr Monaco" due to his five Monaco wins in the 1960s.

The Seniors championship has Pro damage model, with no resets.
This season, races are to be run at 60 frames per second – please use the 60 fps patch

There is no Red Zone. Moderating will be on reported incidents only. Remember that lap 1 incidents carry an additional penalty place.

Servers are normally up at 20:45 UK time i.e. GMT. But never later than 21:00.

Senior server is provided by GPL Brazil as in race announcement. It was up on IGOR but didn't have SENIOR in the comment field. Sorry for the confusion.

Have nothing much to tell, as everybody was in a slower car. Could manage a clean race, without any mentionable incidents. Got a little happier when overlapping started -felt like not being all alone then ;)

Congratulations super Tim, a dominant victory !!!! Also to Greg for his impressive recovery and Miele for winning the podium.
 I am very happy to be able to achieve this union, I must especially thank Phill and Billy, who made a great effort for the joint adaptation of the leagues. I hope that this work brings more fun to the pilots, now two servers can give the juniors a better competitiveness and excitement, I hope the pilots liked the news. My race was ruined by small mistakes, which is prohibited in Monaco!

....jut want to forget the BRM ... my setup race was not famous ... very far of my PB here .... not a good feeling in race...bur happy to finish 5 ...

lol!! I agree with Tris  :-\ almost 20 years of driving GPL and I still cannot tame that 67 BRM  :( If I could find the hidden pace in the BRM my GPL Rank would change dramatically. As things stand I don't think I have a single benchmark time for that car ??!!

I worked on a BRM setup for Monaco and was actually very satisfied with the laptimes on race fuel, but it seemed that, after a few laps, when the tyres were beginning to get up to working temperature the handling became unpredictable and the rear end would simply overtake the front end??!! Strangely, that did not happen on absolutely cold tyres!! but maybe it is my driving and NOT the car  ::)

+1 as i ended my race first of all after a quite satisfying start...

Just for clearing things out from the Regulations:
"A bonus point will be awarded for pole position.
A bonus point will be awarded for the fastest lap."
..is that true, or am I wrong? would you please crosscheck with the table and tell me if I´m wrong, thank you guys!!

Tim, you are correct. The scoring system in UKGPL doesn't automatically award bonus points.
I believe they can be added manually & that will be done as part of the moderating report.

Hi Tim, I can confirm you will get 2 bonus points but they will be added when the race is moderated. The mechanism for adding the points is the same one we use for penalties so we can't add the points until the moderation is completed.
