Season 36 - 69x Trophy – Round 5 - Brno65  

For the next round of the season 36 we are going to Brno in the Czech Republic. Brno was originally founded as a race circuit in 1930, the original course running counter-clockwise for some 29.1Km (18 miles) through 9 towns/villages. The inaugaral race was won by Lous Chiron in a Bugatti type 51 in 1931. The circuit maintained this layout until 1937 when War brought racing to a close. In 1949 Brno re-opened - now running clockwise and at a shorter length of 17.2Km (10.7 Miles) passing through only 6 towns/villages this time. In 1964 the circuit was shortened again to 13.9Km (8.6 Miles) by cutting Zebetin from the route. In 1967 Mike Spence entered a BRM P83 in a race here - No other (then) current F1 teams were known to have raced here. In 1975 the circuit was again shortened down to a mere 10.9Km (6.77 Miles) in order to avoid running through Pisarky, Novy Liskovec, and Bohunice, it also removed a large section of the run through Kohoutovice. This layout remained until 1987 when the road course was finally closed in order to move the racing onto the newly purpose built race circuit situated just off the original course, between Ostrvacice and Zebetin were the races continue to this day. Today we are using the Brno '65 layout.

"Junior" drivers are allowed a maximum of one reset with a compulsory Stop & Go within two laps.
"Senior" drivers are not allowed any resets.

Only reported incidents will be moderated, there is no Red Zone.

Screen freeze with audio higher and higher  :(
I don't remember when it happened last time, but it was ages ago. Maybe BRM and Brno65 are a bad match with my pc? I saw that I had the Q bar a little red too already in Quali.
Next one.

Bad Race.

In t3 after start attack by molteni, did not see me side by side in corner and wheel touch.
Got pos back next lap but spun. another contact while clearing the track and respin
Lap 3 got stuck in hay.

Bastian is gone in spin behind a curve,i have avoided a strong contact but his manouver have touched my front wheels and the stering wheel was gone out of calibration. Impossible to drive again so i have abbandoned the race.

why so much freezes here with the 69x and not in the 66 Mod?

I had a screen freeze here in the 66s but I was lucky today and survived until the end. It started badly when I couldn't avoid Evil's spinning Lotus at Brno-Bosonohy on Lap 1. I almost squeezed by, but very minor contact pushed me into the straw bales which must be made of Evo-Stick. I needed a shift-R which left me dead last (after Evil passed me) and after my S&G I was well behind. I managed to get all the way up to third place without overtaking anyone, such was the attrition rate.

Very sorry for the people who had a screen freeze, I know how you feel  :censored:  Perhaps we should avoid this track in future.

I've loaded the chassis the drivers used into the token calculator spreadsheet.  For the next race the available tokens will be as declared in the table below (the table will also appear in the next race announcement).  The calculated values are automated but selecting the cars is a manual process so please check your tokens to make sure I haven't made a silly error. There was no token overspend for this round so no one is disqualified.

Congatulations to Ziu on the win and some very quick laptimes and to Tris and Phil for the podium places and well done Paul for a steady drive to the flag. Ziu has had some bad luck in recent races, so it was good to see him take the flag at last  ;)

A lot of discos and freezes which reduced the field. Maybe if I had taken a SnG  ( oops! not allowed for me!! ) I might have survived to take some points, but I did feel rather guilty after T1, so I quit.



Apologies to all who were caught up in my spin at T1. Felt such a dufus after saying "careful on lap 1"  :-\ ::)

In my defence, I was in a car without any downforce and the 4 cars ahead had wings. As we entered the village I noticed 2 of those cars ahead slow and weave a little and I was expecting some bent metal. In response I lifted off the gas in a car that was set up to have slight oversteer under power, but lifting off simply provoked understeer and I slid against the outside kerb and it flipped my car around clipping a couple of those behind me.
In hindsight, maybe I should have held back a little but with a slower car I needed to maximise every metre of track...and apparently the pavement too??

I had a freez in qualif .... hum ! that smell not good for the race ...:/ 
I know that my only chance to grab the slipstream of the guys in front is a good start ....it was not bad but a little spinn at the end of the straight line and it was over ...a lonely long race waiting for me ...! I was 4th all along the race till Axell desapeer...and then Uli too !...I was expecting my turn will append soon....or later...? ... but I was in the lucky group !
...so lucky podium unexpected ...:)
