(3) General information on the ladder can be found on the series home page (https://www.simracing.org.uk/index.php?ind=lm2&group=25).
(4) The season will be run using a UKGTL carpack v1.1 (https://www.simracing.org.uk/downloads/UKGTL-skins-1.1.zip) which will need to be installed prior to racing.

The Escort will be the choice for me too ... if I can make it.  I'm out for dinner, so I'll see what happens.  Want to get a decent race under my belt after my muckups at the NGT sprint at Monza.

Great combination, my fave cars (76), not those boring 65'ers, and a cool track with Imola, so i'll be there tonight thankfully. Thought i was going to miss this one but a change of personal circumstances means i can now make it, however i havent practised it at all so should be a challenge.

whats a good-ish lap time around here in a variety of 76 cars? (ruskus?) to give me something to aim at. Being a Porsche pilot, i'll probably take the 911 or a 906  8)

Team Redline have a training video up of Dom Duhan doing a 1:59.2 in a Pantera, though a more realistic fast time (ie if the fastest drivers take the fastest cars) would probably be a 2:01 or 2:02. A respectable fast time is probably a 2.04-2:05. Considering my weak efforts to date in practice I would have expected those laptimes to be quicker, so maybe some of you guys will surprise me;)

My best time in the Capri is 2:01, but I know Pero can do 2:00's with a Capri. I can't match that speed so that is why I go for the Escort in which I can do 2:03 of maybe 2:02. It's fun to drive here and with a good point system I might get some nice points, not to mention maybe some nice fights in the midfield.

I've been struggling with these (all) races of late and personally can't wait till the driving school comes out in GTR2. :D
Not sure if I should of wrote some of that in Teal

Thought I'd have a race today being off work and all :( CTD everytime I tried to load up it'd get halfway through loading cars then CTD again. Was OK on other servers ??? Me thinks it's time for a re-install. Had got down to 2-01's but I guess it wasn't to be ;)
Hope you'll had a good race :)

Done well in quali (4th) the made a school boy error and got a wheel onto the grass before turn 1 and Wheeee!!! Round and round and round she goes where she stops nobody knows. Any way recovered from that about P10 got up a couple of places then a couple of cars span at the last chicane and I ended up without a splitter i also got a telling off for cutting the track whilst trying to avoid it. Got going again upto about p16 before I end having to take another detour to avoid an acident and got a stop go penalty. So back to the pits for me. Get going again and guess what, another acident avoidance manouver results in another stop go penalty. I was abit annoyed at this point and decided to leave.

After my first error I really enjoyed having a charge through the field. Its a shame about the cut track warnings coming from avoiding accidents. Hope the rest of you had better luck.

Man o man what a race.

I did some rF (Megane) just before joining this race, so it felt very weird driving the Escort. I didn't quite get the time I wanted, but I was happy with 6th. Even if I started 4th or something, the Pantera's would have taken me anyhow on the start.
Some still have red eyes when the lights go off and floor it. What do you think when you overtake the whole field in 200 meters ;D

But then the race, awesome. I was seeing Ghostspeed infront of mee (almost) the whole time. Both Johnny and Ribeiro. Me and Johhny were doing the same lap times over and over again. But the Escort has no weapon. I couldn't try anything on him. Outbraking was too dangerous, and cornering is not a lot better in the Escort. So I had to stick behind him and hope for a gap. But he was driving very consitent all the time.
Then, after about 10 laps I locked my brakes heading towards Rivazza. I was going towards the apex of that cars as a lose projectile. So I quickly shifted to 1st causing me to 180 and keep clear of johnny. After that I thought my fight was over. But the lap after that I saw I was gaining on him again. So I started pushing again, risking a local barbeque. A few laps before the end I was right up his tail again, but the same scenaria: I couldn't try anything. And to make matters worst, my brakes were getting very bad. I had no feel over them at all anymore at that point.
I was quite nervous to see Mooman in my mirrors. He qualified infront of me, but at some point I lapped him, and he was faster at some times. I was afraid he was gonna overtake me, but luckily all went well :D
That was such a fun race, which I needed after so long.
Grats to Peter for winning. When I saw he took the Capri I kinda already knew the outcome. But I must say that LeH's time was very impressive as well.

On to the next one :jumpjoy:

Hadnt played GTL for about a month and boy did it show  :-[

Took the 911 and was encouraged by having 5th top time in the final praccy. Car was a bit of a handful but thought it must be competitive :-\ In Qually however, i dropped to 13th with a 2:06 time, just couldnt get into the 2:05's.

Had no chance to test a race setup so used the same as qually with full race fuel onboard...what a nightmare  >:(, car was a sack of shite with terrible understeer and poor braking that quickly saw me slide from 11th? down to 18th through a series of over-shoots especially down that steep hill. The car was almost undriveable thru the hilltop chicane where i had to almost tippy-toe thru as the porkers light front end would bounce all over the shop and lose traction if i touched the kerbs, and spin me.
Very frustrating, think i brought it home a lonely 13th and was very disapointed. Just shows you need some good testing of these beasts before a race. Wish i had taken the 906 now :'(

i dunno what it is about GTL, but I can't seem to get the feel of it... too much on edge, and can't seem to push. I think i'll try copying my FF settings from GTR2/Rfactor to see what diff it makes.

Another boring race, didn't overtake anyone, didn't see anyone most of the race... and finished a lap down *yawn*

Says you were DQ'd! :o :o

The results export has you DQ'd for some reason in the race time. Gizmo, there don't appear to be any cut laps, so the race time could probably be added up from the laps done?

Thanks for the race guys-  had some good battles with M Jonzo and M Coop - who i tapped on the s/f line out of the chicane - sorry about that! Felt guilty & tried to slow down let you catch up, and then watched as M Jonzo flew past...! good racing tho guys ;D

Tried to keep out of the way of the frontrunners as best i could, but keept going wide to let the faster driver past, and kept going wider & wider & wider...ending up in the gravel most of the time

Then underbraked heading for T1, towards the end of the race, whilst the driver in 6th place i think (906 Porsche)  had just lapped me, knew it was gonna be messy, and had two choices - take out the guy who had just lapped me, or steer into the tyre wall to stop me flying across the track into the 906...tyre wall was the option..not good ???

I think i made the mistake of letting a driver past who was placed behind me also, when i was slowing to let the frontrunners through - he was packed in tight with them all, so i slowed thinking they were all battling  :-\

Finnally, sorry Bill if i put you off on the warm up lap - i spun it and slowed you right down. i had a bit of a job trying to make up the gap between the car in front from where i was. I know you stopped to let me get back on the track - many thanks ;)

Another hot race!!  I did not satisfy myself in qual, only able to get a 2:03, despite getting a 2:02.9 in practice today and during the week.  But it was good enough for P5 on the grid, with pretty much no hope of catching Le & Pero with their 2 secs better laptimes.  Someone(s) ahead of me on the formation lap were braking hard coming out of the turns, very strange, and all that weaving for the tires, yucko.  Very nearly had big problems from that.  But we all got off to a fine start and the train kep' a-rollin', right up till Mooman put a wheel off and spun out on race lap 2!!  Hate to see that, but I was relieved as I had Ruskus behind me and the thought of being the meat in that sandwich had me shaking.  Whew!  After that it was more train ride, but very exciting!  Ruskus is SO fast and he was right on my bumper for lap after lap.  Somewhere near the middle of the race, Ruskus was still right behind me, coming into the high speed downhill braking (sorry, forget the name!!), getting a little too close right at the end of the braking zone, and ended up locking his rears just at the last second and spinning off.  Darn that!!  Ruskus, I think you would've been okay as I was just getting on the gas when you spun, but thanks for making the decision to avoid a collision.  Didn't seem to hurt you much as I watched the times fall while you caught up!!  A couple of lappers allowed Ruskus to close the gap, especially Bill who got on the brakes early going into that same high speed downhill and was over on the far left of the track where the wide entrance to the turn is -- I could not tell what he was doing and we almost got together, but I *think* he was trying to be out of the way.  Ruskus did catch up, but then mysteriously dropped back again, I thought to save the Escort engine?  Anyway, I slowed for the GT40 on the last lap and Ruskus was right behind me again, but never got the spot.  <pant>  Shower time!!

And points out already, wow!!  Tied with PG for 3rd, muhaha!!  Probably the last time I'll be that close to Pero in points as he shoots on up the charts.  ;)  Results show Ruskus DQ??  Stop/go??  What happened??

Must be error as I had no cut tracks and I didn't receive anything after the finish.

I felt behind the second time because of my brakes. Again at Rivazza, but this time it was my rears causing me shake my ass :D. First time it went wrond there it were my fronts, hence the going straight.

Nice race.
For this race, i choose a very hard grip setup :shifty:, so, lots of camber(front), lots of negative toe-in, soft springs, low tyre pressure, short gear, etc...etc... :turned:.
Consequence of this: very fast turns, not very high speeds and less rubber(on tyres) when i reach the lap 15, but thats what i tried to risk at Imola with Capri( i think i only did 1 race my all life here with Capri). :whistling:
When Mooman117 spun, i re-took 3rd place, i loose Pero and LeH from sight and i did all race with one eye in my mirrors seeing JohnnyDee and Ruskus.Fortunatly i get a ~2sec. gap from JD and Ruskus and i could control the gap for a while, as i knew that my setup will blow my tyres, speccialy the front.
A big congratulations for Pero in a Capri (did you assembled a 7000c.c. engine with turbo in there?) :thumbup2: and for LeH :thumbup2:, they did a great race.Johnny was great too, with Ruskus almost all race on his rear bumper.Ruskus drove the Escort very hard and fast congrats too man :thumbup1:

Thanks for all drivers also.

Cheers

Horrid race for my. My suspension was damaged from an incident in lap 2 making it very difficult to control throughout the race. The damage got steadily worse until I was forced to retire on the last lap as the car was undriveable at that stage.

Well a great result for me of course, but I am not really happy about it as I could have taken far more points.
I know that I have the speed here and the only thing that wasnt know to me was the pace of LeH. I started the practise in the BMW knowing that I can do a mid to high  2:01 with it on one lap and 2:02's 2:03 trough the race. But LeH was in the Pantera and I wanted to win this one so I chickened out and took a Capri. In qually it than looked like the right choice as I just about made pole position (although I lost 0.5 sec in the last section on my fastest lap). But than in the race I quickly started to build a lead and soon I had nothing in my mirrors anymore so I started to do some quick laps. Than a bit over the midd point I started to overtake the first backmarkers and the pace droped a bit. It than droped even more when my brother came into my room and started talking to me. That made me less concentrated as I had to let down the volume to be able to hear him and the laptimes droped some more. In the end I basicly more or less cruised to the finnish.
I think that I might have been able to win this in the Beemer as well, will try it out next time when we get to a good racetrack.

Yea, I was thinking this is my chance to win against Pero, when I saw he was taking the Capri. I knew he would be fast still, but I didn't expect he would qualify with a 2.00.3. My PB in Imola with the Pantera is a 2.00.0, so I still hoped to get a good lap, but only could make 2.00.5. Somehow I always end up 1 or 2/10 behind Pero in quali ... I need to talk to my mechanics to get me a few more horsepowers I guess ...  ;D

In the race my plan was to push more this time, but Pero took off like a rocket right from the start. For a moment I was thinking, he only picked up fuel for 5 laps and thinks its still quali, or he goes for a strategy with pit-stop ... but no ... he kept going like that ;). Maybe I could have kept close for a lap or two, but at this speed I'm sure I would have ended in a wall, rather sooner than later. While I can get an acceptable quali time with the Panty in Imola, I can't keep up this driving on the edge for a whole race without major accident - the Panty is just too unforgiving ... at least for me. So I had to go 1.5 - 2 secs slower, but in the end I'm happy I could finish without throwing the car away, though I had one spin near the end, when I lost concentration. The race got a bit boring tho.

I don't know why it shows it like that - the results export simply replaces your finish time with "DQ":

That was a tough race for me in a car I like on a track I mostly like.

I've been doing a lot of ASRWC Formula Armaroli over the last few days and hadn't had time to do any practice, and it felt very, very strange. Really struggled to just get the car round the track on my first two qualifying runs, then finally hooked up a good lap after time had expired and was about to finish it to go into position... BZZZZT! "Next Session..." Noooooooooo! :o That left me rushing to load my race setup, and having to start without drinking anything - and I was already starting to feel dehydrated. :-\

The pace lap was really bad for concertina - at one point the entire field stopped dead in front of me. I thought we'd been getting a lot better at it over the last few races but people were travelling much too close to each other. >:( Then the limiter start seemed to go wrong too, with me still on the limiter until a few cars lengths after the start line. ::)

Started to settle into a much better rhythm during the race, and started to feel comfortable in the car again. I had Tom Cooper and I was matching him for pace in the early stages, figuring I'd be able to launch a Shark Attack later.

Then Shark went off ahead in the 906, and I let him by, only to have to repeat it when he went off again. That increased to gap to Tom quite a lot, so I had to start pushing harder, and that's when I made my traditional Imola mistake, and hit the second lot of tyres in the final chicane, rolling the car and allowing Woodee past.

I'm glad someone took the GT40 because it provided a direct comparison with the Capri. It was a bit of a dog in the braking zones but slightly faster in a straight line. I finally got up the inside when he struggled to stop the car going into Tosa and we had ourselves a little drag race on the way out - I was looking directly over and there really was very little in it. Sorry about lightly doinking you on the nose, Neil, I really should've been looking where I was going. Anyway, he conceded the following right hander and I pulled away fairly quickly after that. Mark Jonzo nearly caught me at one point but lost it over the curbs at Variante Alta in classic 911 style.

In the end it was a bit of a lonely race to the flag, with the brakes and tyres starting to show signs of wilting, and just Pero lapping me to provide any sign of other cars.

Ruskus's finishing time now officially adjusted to 41:38.648 (extrapolated from the server result lap data), placing him 5th in the race.

I was saying to myself... don't run wide on the exit or you will look like a right noob for the switch back... but sure enough, I did look like a noob because I didn't keep it tight... DOH!. I REALLY need to look at my setup for GTL, just can't feel the car at all.

following a series of bad luck IMOLA was no exception, during the entire qualy i could only finish 2 laps, i got the 10th place i know my PB was faster than that, during race i managed to achiev the 6th place that´s when i start loosing pace for RIK in his escort, who finally caught me in 18 lap because of a mistake i made, but the worst was in the last chicane in last lap i had no tyres and i managed to hit a red tyre and lost 2 more positions.

I hope this dark wave stops soon.

Very awesome vid again, Ruskus, wow!  I see the lag you mention in the replay; not sure if mine's any better (haven't watched it!).

You never gave music credits for this one ... like that tune!  Who is it?

It was 'over the hills and far away' by Nightwish, and it's a damn good tune ;D

What Zacari said :D. I noticed afterwards that I forgot, but I didn't want to re-upload etc just for that. Normally I do credit the music as it's thé thing that makes or breakes the video.
