Title: SMF 2.1 forum upgrade Post by: Dave 'Gizmo' Gymer on April 07, 2020, 07:00:17 PM +0100 I plan to attempt to upgrade our (now very out of date) copy of the Simple Machines Forum to the version 2.1, currently a release candidate but as best we can tell stable enough to use for real.
This will start this coming Friday morning (10 April), and should take an hour or two; the forums will be unavailable whilst the upgrade takes place. If there are delays, I'll post updates on our Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/SimRacing.org.uk/). There will undoubtedly be things broken and not quite right; I'm on enforced holiday this week and next so I should have plenty of time to fix them. ::) :D One thing I know is that by default, email notifications will be turned off by the upgrade. After the upgrade, it's easy to re-enable these on the Notifications page of your profile. If you want a preview of the new software, please visit the QA site (https://wwwqa.simracing.org.uk/). Note that anything posted there will be lost during the upgrade, so if you spot a problem, please report it here on the live site instead.
