Notes:
(1) No registration is required; all forum-registered members may join.
(2) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(3) See the Series Info (https://www.simracing.org.uk/index.php?ind=lm2&group=30) for general Elise Cup info.
(4) Please make sure you are fully aware of the UKGTR Rules (https://www.simracing.org.uk/index.php?pid=7); note that we have no specific standing start rules, but first lap incidents will be punished more harshly than subsequent incidents

You will need a car pack for this event - I will publish the link here tomorrow after I've tested it and uploaded it to the downloads section.

i tried the skinpack by unpacking it in the main folder, but somehow the cars don't show ???

You have to select the DigitalDriving LEC car class.

Please read that thread, download the pack, and post your choice of car. Teams will choose a single car skin between them.

Picnic/Shark/... - are we okay to get the pack onto the server in time for Tuesday's race?

I've installed the car pack locally and on the server today, both work fine. You are copying the GameData directory from within lec1carsetv10 to your rfactor install directory aren't you?

I hope he's copying it to his GTR directory! :P :laugh:

To repeat what I put in the replay, the new Elises are not with the normal one, they're in their own car class. You need to pick the LEC class, on the screen with all the blue-grey boxes (American Muscle, GT, NGT, etc).

 :-[ Doh, silly me! Must still be in rF mode after installing the PCC/Proto/Demon/ASRWC stuff  ;)

Unlikely I'll make today race. I have to go out at half 8 so unless that is called off, I'll need to wait until round 3. Shame. Have fun if I don't turn up.

I'm really looking forward to another race in the Elises, only managed a bit of practice so far, but starting to consistently knock time off my PB. Not anticipating as good a qualifying as at Donny, as I really haven't spent much time at Silverstone ever.  Hoepfully we'll have another good turnout, as last weeks race was a cracker.

No praccy, no race. Sorry Jon, I just couldn't get used to your setup in such a short time. Major setup changes in quali 2 - not my way of preparing to race.  :)

Qualified 4th. Almost third but qual session ended 20 meters before the SF line :( Anyway - nice for a 30min practice on a track I last drove 10 years ago (Toca 1).
 
I have loaded my race set and went to do a warmup lap. Session changed with me still on track, and it screen displayed for a moment as expected. Suddenly I got "lost connection with server". End of race :(

Just can't wait for another Elise race! This car is brilliant!

First time I'd tried the Elise since the early early days of GTR. Just jumped straight into very end of Practice 1 for my first laps in the little English blighter and was very suprised to be 6th on the grid. Dunno how that happened as I haven't driven one of these in so long.

Well it didn't go to well. Great start for me from 6th to 4th and then race lasted 5 minutes before it finished. Easiest 4th I ever got.  :laugh:

We used this addon track before for RoC last year without problems, no idea why it went screwy.

It said 40 mins in screen and 25 laps which was right and I just doubled checked server and it is set correctly, so obviously a track bug that comes and goes.

I noticed after 1st lap that the counter was already down to 2:30 ish to go and I thought oh yeah, gonna be a short one this one.

You got out at the right time TT :P
Was looking forward to that but I think that's the first time a major bug has hit a race here for me so it's not been a bad run.

Shame it lasted all of 5 minutes, it was a very clean start from what I saw and there were going to be a few cracking battles .... but it was not to be.  Time to get a few laps in in preparation for the GTL ladder race!

We had TPG race - Elise at Zolder. All others went as it was planned for 30 min, only for me the race lasted 2 laps. The catch seems to be a file called SIM_LEC1_25min.gdb - at least that's how they call it. Dunno what it has to be changed to work in Silverstone.

Thats typical isnt it I went from last to at least 16 in 2 laps and had a whole load of cars in front of me then it went belly up . sorry to car I SQUEEZED but I had a set up from john which I adjusted a bit . Also have to admit that I used to go quite well at Silverstone in real life. cheers gerald

This was actually cleared up for the second race.  Long story short - the car skin pack we got was made for 1.5 and I had to go in and change the gdb file to make it work correctly for 1.4.  Here are the instructions for the car pack from our forums:

MAKE-A-WISH FOUNDATION ELISE CUP SKIN PACK

Download -> Elise Cup skin pack (20 megs) (http://media.tpgleague.org/racing/elisecup.rar) (you may have to do a right click and save for it download correctly)

Unpack to your base GTR folder (example: C:\Program Files\GTR) or unpack it to something like C:\temp and then copy the files over to your base GTR folder if you want to check the files first.

Please download this patch (http://media.tpgleague.org/racing/elisecup_patch.zip) to correct a problem with time scaling.  Just copy the file to your GTR/GameData folder.

That's it.  This skin pack is setup as it's own season, like our standard league skin pack.  It should not interfere with the standard TPG skin pack at all.

We are going to do more Elise Cup races in the future, I don't what is going to happen with GTR2 - I guess I'll have to see if the digitalracing.nl boys will be updating the car pack.

Bit awkward about the patch; strictly speaking, because we agreed not to change any of the files, we shouldn't really patch it, but under the circumstances we don't really have much choice.

I've uploaded the patch to here (https://www.simracing.org.uk/downloads/lec1carsetv10-patch14.zip) and will make sure that the next announcement lists it.

Mostly, but not entirely. THere were loads of mismatches being displayed on my screen. The ones I can remember were a message about Ruskus getting a mismatch with Mark Jonzo's car. Every time Mark went out on track it would show up a mismatch. Might have been others too but I remember seeing that one all the time.

Replay and results (http://www.ukgtr.org/replay/GREAT%20BRITAIN%20-%20Elise%20Cup%20220806.zip) are available for your comsumption but I've assumed this event will be rerun (or scrapped) so data not imported.

Don't we sometimes get those even with the standard GTR cars?

Ah, the reason others were getting a mis-match with my car is i already had that small patch installed from my TPG races. I had thought that after the race i'll let Dave know about the patch so he can apply it to all, but was under the impression it was just a 'time-scaling' fix, so hadnt considered it to be a major flaw that might affect the racing as we dont race using time-scaling.  :-[  I thought it would just get rid of the 'mis-match' messages. :-\

I got missmatches with Ruskus also. As Mark, I also dabble in TPG races.  ;)

I think sometimes we get the very odd one with the SimRacing UKGTR car pack, probably where people have fiddled with it in minor ways.

When I say time scaling I mean that if you don't use that patch your race length will only be like 2 or 3 laps, instead of say 25 or 30.  See I think the root of the problem is that the skin pack wa designed for 25 minute races, but we wanted to do races of different length and that was causing a problem with the existing gdb file.

ya there is definately that "wtf" effect when you are cruising and all of a sudden 3 laps in your race is over and everyone else is tooling along.
