I've just installed the Elise Car Pack's patch on the server and tested it. Just to make it clear

Everybody must install this patch locally or your race will end prematurely

Reminder: the patch can be got from here (https://www.simracing.org.uk/downloads/lec1carsetv10-patch14.zip)

I sort of did ;) I installed the patch on server but not locally and got a 5 min race. Installed the patch locally and countdown timer was at 40 mins. I ran for about 6 mins and gave up as it seemed ok.

Practice server is up if you wish to try it yourselves  ;)

I'll try and find some time to try out the car pack today. I havn't even installed it yet.

In the first post you said to notice the new GTR 1.4 Compatibility Patch. What is this? We always used official patch 1.4.

The Elise skinpack was made for patch 1.5. This caused the race to end after 5 minutes. The fix is to make the skinpack compatible with the 1.4 GTR patch, the one we use.
So the fix is a must have.

And this patch is to go into the GTR game data file?
Will it make any difference if i update to version 1.5 (for general online events) and then revert back to 1.4 for SROU events, with this patch installed?

Thanks guys 8)

And this patch is to go into the GTR game data file?

From the attached readme:

"This new version of the SIM_LEC1_25min.gdb corrects a problem with time scaling in the
existing file.  Copy this new version to your GTR/GameData folder, overwriting the existing file."

So correct.

I'm not sure whether I'll compete this evening.

1) I'm not really fond of this track.

2) It's my first day back in school and I'm a little tired.

3) It's sunny outside.

I may compete if  feel up to it in 90mins but don't count on it.

I got some problem after the first lap with this track, and the frame rate would go no higher than 11fps. It was like playing Super Monaco GP on the Megadrive all over again.
Hope you all enjoyed better than i did.

For f**k sake. >:(

Again a great race ruined by my (........................) router.
I had a PB at qually which gave me pole: 1:56.5xx.

Race was great again battling with Jon. He was a bit faster so I had a hard time keeping infront. After a while he eovertook me and I was slowly losing him.
At some point somebody spun and I was like, oh shit, smoke. But then Jon also spun, and I had to go grannystyle through that corner not to end up in a threesome ;).
One lap later, I spun in the same corner and Jon overtook me again. But we swapped places again in the same lap cause Jon was so kind to mow the lawn :D.

But then, with 10 minutes to go, I had a great disco. I knew I would get disco'ed when i do a pitstop, but not just during the race. This router is going to pieces, big time.

Unlucky Ruskus, kick that turd into touch :(
Did another double downshift :( I think that's about 3 races in a row now...Lucky for me It didn't change my result because of Ruskus's disco. Apart from that it was great racing against Ruskus, these Elise's are excellent for close racing. I love 'em.
Grats to matjaz on another immaculate drive 8)

Firstly - sorry about the chat at the end, it started as i exited the last corner and i joined in without checking to see if everyone had finished, my apologies, i wont do it again!

Great racing with Rob B, pablo1978 and gerald who was on my tail at the end, thanks to all.

Hope i'm around for the next one.

Third place - I must say it feels good! :)

Eventfull race to me. Qualified fourth just like last week. I was quite pleased with the result but the very idea of chasing Matjaz who qualified third seemed quite funny :D

Of course there was no need to worry. I blew up my start and lost 2 places to BigG and Andy! - great start both of you guys! I quickly decided not to push for a few laps, warm the tires and burn some fuel. The strategy turned to be ok as I quickly got fourth (not without a small spin) and then third after Ruskus router failed. Rest of the race was just conserving my engine and tires.

  Fun Fun Fun  ;)

Nice tense race from the beginning till almost the end, with good clean driving from everyone  :)

Sorry Ruskus, it seams that router needs a nice fly out of your window  ;)

looking forward for the next one and hoping that more people join the race  :)

This was looking to be a closer race for me starting form 3rd. I guess no driving for a whole week left some consequences.  :-\ I had a great start while two lads in front had some wheelspin so I managed to take the lead coming into the first corner and from then on I just went and never looked back. :) Again I couldn't do without my usual scary moment when I ran a bit on to the grass after T1 and car decided to wiggle a bit and nearly spun on me but I somehow managed to get it under control. My lead was increasing lap by lap and when guys behind me started to spin there was no need for me to push 100% so I decided to take it easy for the last couple of laps and that was it. I noticed guys started to chat when some drivers still didn't finish the race so be carefull next time not to chat until you see everyone has a result and have finished the race. Thanks for great fair racing and see you next time!

Something of a mixed bag for me in this one.  Set a PB in qualifying, only to completely cock up the first corner.  Made up time and then span again .... and that set the pattern for the race, a few good laps, a silly mistake and my last lap was awful.

Judging by your "victory dance" at the SF I believed it was a great race for you! :D But seriously - Silverstone is a great circuit. I regret not racing it before. Especially the first double left-right corner sequence is amazing! Just by the end of the race I finally got how to negotiate it right and it felt terrific. Now I understand why Matjaz set his differential so tight.

Fun fun fun!

Have to admit, that was a blast! Had a good start and was getting on pretty well catching fellow Crawler Rob until I froze up the brakes and went straight in one of the chicanes....grrr...
Somewhere between connecting and the end of qually though, my broadband went to shite....lost connection two laps before the end and rang the service provider threatening to "strike down upon them with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my broadband during a race!"

...got put on hold for half an hour....

Ah well, here's to the next race and even more fun.

Yes setting differential so tight really helps driving through that amazing corner sequence but at the same time car can become very tricky to drive. You have to be very carefull when downshifting and lifting the throttle, especially if you combine it with a very low rear wing as was the case with my setup. If you are to quick when downshifting or you to rapidly lift the throttle your rear end will step out to violently and you'll spin... and yes that can look slightly embarrassing if it happens in Elise.  ;D

It certainly does! :D Nevertheless I just love the direct control of the rear you yield with throttle using this setup. It pays in the last tight right-hander just before SF straight.

Hi Guys as you may know I used to drive fully modified MG midgets at this track. The joke is that I still get the same problem I had then. I always seem to catch other cars in the corners have to brake or go off line. This ends up with me in the gravel trap quite often. I made a good start from the back then made a pigs ear of things was katching up quite well but got a bit over excited and had a lot of understeer. If I could have managed to string a series of 2.1 or 2.05 min laps It could have seen me up in the top 6. It was good racing with clarey etc but I bet It will be more difficult at Oschers. cheers gerald
