I should be joining the fun tonight and might even try a few laps of practice later.

But, tomorrow I go into hospital very early for a heart pacemaker to be fitted and I know that afterwards there will be some restrictions on my left arm movement for a while. So I don't know when I will be racing again.

Hopefully things will be working before Sunday and I can limp around at the back of the field and perhaps Clive will take pity on me and allow me to finish ahead of him?, but I doubt that lol ;). In the meantime , perhaps I can persuade the medics that simracing is good physiotherapy???  ;)

Hope you will be as good as before soon, my right arm is now fully working after my surgery ;)

Thanks for the thoughts guys but don't worry, because with my record in dealing with things technical, there is every chance the ruddy thing won't work!! , or it will run backwards  :-\ lol

Very sorry Francesco.
You brake earlier than I thought and I tried to do my best to not touch your car but I went on the grass and partly lost control.
Why don't you reset with Shift-R ?

Phew, that was a very hard race. Not much wheel to wheel action but I was focussing on the gap to David for most of the race, very stressful. One mistake and it would be curtains, and it was! I was too brave at the Mulsanne kink (easy to do in a simulation, I reckon in real life I'd have been standing on the brakes   )

With my mistake again Francesco, you will win this race and surely the junior championship.
I was happy to rejoin your car after a long chase !
Thanks to let me pass after our little contact, I knew you will overtake me on the Hunaudières (plz don't use "Mulsanne straight" !!!  :D  ).

Another problem not solved. With strong impact on the wheels my steering wheel becomes blocked and there is no way to recover it.Remain only the exit.
Anyway is the third consecutive race where someone cause to me an incident, you could understand that i have my balls broken, also because there are the other not consecutive.

I took the Lotus 49, not really knowing what to expect. The better top speed on the ridiculously long straight was the plus but the car really struggled in the 90 degree turns. The draft looked to be worth at least 2s & after I lost the pack on the first lap it was a lonely night at Le Mans. Things got a little more interesting with about 3 laps to go after Phil took a Stop & Go. The finish was mighty close, I just needed the S/F line to be about 100 yards further along.
I do have a big pile of tokens but I'm thinking the Lotus 49 might be a contender for the next event?

Very special race to me to night. What do you wanna drink on my 100th vicoty party?
Congratulations teamies Axel and Andreas – McLaren triple! ;) Very nice with you both on podium, big hand to you.
It starts with a hard fight for the pole. Congratulations to you Tristan. When I miss you at the starting grid, I was wondering what went wrong this time – what a hard mess to stand! I was looking for a close race with you! But it came much harder than I could expect – Axel and I faught on and over our limits the whole race until the last lap, until the last Mulsanne breaking point! We overtake us more than 25 times, get in touch, get in the green, faught back – one of my hardest fights I could remember, with the lucky end for me, after a gap of about 9 sec. with 4 laps to go (after my one and only spin), 3 fastest race laps close the gap to Axel just in time.
Even I was clear faster,  I couldn‘t go ahead, because of my much too long 5th gear and the much too long Mulsanne straight. Furthermore, Axel was excellent on the breaks at Mulsanne – until the last lap was comming …
That was one of the never forget races, I‘m racing for – THX to you Axel  :thumbup2: – AND even it was my 100th GPL victory ever!
I took a bottle of Champaign after that and go to bed at 3 a clock in the morning (CET).
What a race night – didn‘t expect it in that fantstic way – there was a win with the GPL-Racer in Monza 10k 66 mod just before that very special LeMans victory.  ;D :banana-dance:
Looking forward to Grenzland Ring – the new edition of close fighting is coming already in 14 days. :)
Wish you all a good time

Hehe YES Uli, a race to not forget!

When we first entered side by side the Mulsanne kink I was thinking  "oh yes, he wants to play" and I gave my best...  ;D

IMO you are for shure the better driver, but my setup was much saver handling - maybe my tyres were less inflated,
my topspeed was a tiny bit higher (322/340kph wo/with tow) and the tow could be felt at ~350m,
also braking with a load-cell brake is 100% easier than a G25 brake pedal ;)

I was wondering that I could stand it such long because atm my condition is very poor as I hardly sleep in the nights...

OMG in the last lap I had lost the feeling in my brake-foot, messed it into the Mulsanne corner and went wide. :wheelchair:

No doubt I've had a maximum of fun and I do fully grant you this victory :punk:

A big grats goes also to your 100th GPL victory of course!

PS Uli
look for the "deepL Übersetzer" wich Stefan Roes and I often use, you can write in german and copy it , it helps me a lot ;)

Ah yes Grenzlandring is coming, but thats another game  8)

This made me curious...

The great SROU database gives us complete statistics about each driver registered here.
Just click on the name and go to "Racing History" and you will find the results of each race you/he ever drove with UKGPL ;)

Grats Uli and podium!
I lost soon draft from the Macs ahead cause I had the first anf fifth gears too long and suffered a lot to restart from slow corners, so I was in business with Clive and Bastian for 4th place till 10th lap when I lost concentration at Maison Blanche and ended on my roof  :(
With this mod I have difficult to keep up the performance. It's like I can't connect with the cars and I don't understand where is the limit expecially on braking. ???
Often I am a passenger

Fulvio,

I agree with your comments about finding a balance with the cars. The Lotus 49 (no wing) should really behave the same as the 67  car but I found it very awkward on the entry & exit of the hairpin corners. Part of the reason for the 'no wing' choice is I can't find a decent wing setting to maximise performance.

Billy for a track like LM you need nearly any - but not no wing
I had lowest Front and no rear wing ...

The 69X 49b has a way better DFV engine than the old 49.

You first should look for the track characteristics - many narrow corners (Nürburgring) - max wing
Grenzlandring - as in LM

Don't forget
- the more wing the more springrate!

if it helps - ask before the race for my proposed wing rates for your car

Thanks Cookie.
Part of the attraction with the Lotus 49 was it doesn't cost many tokens. If you let me know what wing you used at Le Mans I will try that out at Grenzlandring.
