Cars allowed: GTR2

Time of Day Setting: 13:00
Weather: Dry

Start: Rolling start
Tyre wear: Normal
Fuel consumption: Normal

Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see
cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules especially the
rules about in-game chat messages.
(3) You will need to install Race Room Racing Experience from Steam, and have the relevant Track Packs for this series
(4) Please exercise caution when pitting as some tracks have a speed limit.
(5) Please follow the SROUK guidelines for using kerbs etc. Please keep 2 wheels on the track surface (kerbs do not count as track surface)
Excessive cutting of corners will seen as cheating and the results may be altered to reflect this.
(6) Start procedure
*It will be the pole sitter's responsibility to complete the first lap at a pace that allows the rest of the grid to follow comfortably
*There should be no overtaking or hard accelerating/braking
*Drivers should avoid getting too far behind or too close to the driver in front
*Approximately 20 seconds before crossing the start line the pole sitter should slow down to a speed of no more than 50mph (80km/h)
*Each following driver shall close up directly behind the driver in front also maintaining a speed of no more than 50mph (80km/h)
*The pole sitter should maintain that speed until they cross the start line and then accelerate away to start the race (lap2)
*Each following driver should only accelerate when the driver directly ahead does (they do not have to wait until crossing the start line)
*No overtaking is allowed before crossing the start line at the completion of the formation lap

I have changed the venue for the first round of this series to Hockenheim (GP Layout). I had intended to use the GP layout for Brands Hatch but forgot that the indy layout is the only one available in RRE.

That went well - engine totalled after not much more than 2 corners of the warm-up lap!

Have a good one.

Shame Frex. I had to use voodoo to make Geoff stuff it into a wall, then give him a hare to chase  ::)

Well done Glen, Great pace  :thumbup1:

really enjoying these GT2's. I think they have updated the game recently because when I ran wide on to the grass I lost a lot more grip than you used to and when you get back on the track the tyres take a couple of corners to clean up and get back to full grip (which caught me out and put me into a second off track excursion!)

I started well but slid wide on the first lap (then slid off again when I got back on the track due to the tyres still being slippery), lost so much time it was a case of just hotlapping and hope some one fell off, but had a good time trying to push my laptimes to the next level!

We are off to Zandvoort for the next round of the series in two weeks time!

Thanks, Geoff had the legs on me overall. I very nearly followed him off track and just tried to drive to 1:42 after that as I knew I couldn't afford a mistake or to allow either of you to get into my slipstream.

In a recent update, they added the feature whereby the tyres have no grip after a trip through the gravel. To begin with it took laps to recover but they hotfixed it so after a few corners you should be good again. It's still much less forgiving than before.

Welcome vwspeedgp   :) The more come, the more will come.
I opted for hard tyres, but I still had a yellow front left. Did anyone take softs?

Enjoyed that, apart from the silly mistake, these cars (well the Corvette, the only GT2 I have bought) are great fun & quite easy to drive. Congrats to Glenn on the win & Matt in 2nd  .

Welcome to Andre, hope you will join us again, we also race RaceRoom on Thursdays if you are interested.

On tyres, I ran the hards for the race & like Matt the front left was on yellow by the end. I think the hards are about a second a lap slower than the softs.

Welcome, I'm also new (this was my second race with the group). Hope to see you racing again.

I also had the same mishap at the start. I was expecting a rolling start, got confused sat on the grid and only realised at the first corner.
