Practice: 19:30 (45 mins)
Qual: 20:15 (15 mins)
Race: 20:30  45 minutes + 1 lap

Cars allowed:
Ford Escort RS (Kunos Stock)
Alfa Romeo GTAm (V1.2 from Racedepartment - do NOT use the new 1.21 version! The server will be running V1.2. (https://www.racedepartment.com/downloads/1970-alfa-romeo-gtam.28717/history))
*The Alfa has a requirement for the Stock Kuno's Alfa GTA from Dream Pack 1, If you don't have that pack and suffer CTD when loading the car then you need that pack. *

Skin pack: Download it here (https://www.dropbox.com/s/akda6m5605q97ok/Ford%20V%20Alfa%20skinpack.rar?dl=0) - if you extract it into your Assetto Corsa directory (xx:/.../steamapps/common/assettocorsa) it should put everything in the right place.

Track: Sportsland Sugo
Download: https://www.racedepartment.com/downloads/sportsland-sugo.9683/ (https://www.racedepartment.com/downloads/sportsland-sugo.9683/)

VERY IMPORTANT UPDATE!
There is a bug in the pitlane that results in 2 very large holes in the tarmac - a fix can be found here = https://www.racedepartment.com/downloads/sportsland-sugo-1-0-pitlane-fix.22890/ (https://www.racedepartment.com/downloads/sportsland-sugo-1-0-pitlane-fix.22890/), make sure you install it prior to the race or you'll likely fall to your doom!

The default cameras are a bit rubbish so you'll want these as well - they need to go into your "xx:\x-Steam location - x\assettocorsa\content\tracks\sportsland_sugo\data" folder, they shouldn't overwrite anything unless you already have extra camera's.

I'm having a strange issue with the server. When I go to the car gear controls don't respond. I can can not change gears up or down. If I press the throttle, car revs up. Offline, or other cars/tracks online works normally. It just started happening last night, and it was still present when I tried it just now. Anybody else experiencing this?

Hi Syd - that was an odd one.
The server was stuck in the end session state for some reason - I restarted the session and all was good again.
For some reason qualifying was at 8am though, not specified by me so I've also restarted the server - should be fine now :)

This is another tough track that needs a lot of learning. I seem to remember racing this in GTL many moons ago which doesn't help me at all  :D

not a fan of this track but maybe it'll be more fun with a grid of cars.  :-\ I Don't get why track modders put these daft ramped high kerbs in. ???  i'd prefer to be racing these cars on fab historic club circuits tbh.

BEWARE OF THE PIT LANE!!!!!!

In the middle of the pit lane, between the two sets of pit-bays, is a dark section of tarmac.

THE TARMAC IS A LIE!!!!!

If you try and drive on said piece of tarmac you'll drop through it and that's the end of that.

Despite looking a bit "Mickey Mouse" on the way out of the pits (and the aforementioned mid-pitlane tarmac trap) I actually quite like this one too.  Those big kerbs can make it interesting, but overall it's got a decent flow to it.

I briefly tried the track. It' good fun. Would be perfect for a couple of pandem R32 and slide fun.

Odd, I've seen reference to a hole but even in previous testing here years back have never found it.
There's a fix for it available, but that might require us to revert to an older version as it pressures the latest update. I foolishly thought it would have been addressed by an update released a year or more after the issue was first mentioned  ::)

As for the kerbs, Sugo is famous for them so i'd be upset if they weren't there!

It's easily avoided - but shouldn't need to be.  That said ... I don't know how easy it would be to exit the bay before the hole, or enter the one before it ...

As per the discussion on Race Department, the hole is between the 16th and 17th pit bays.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zs0lB2ojELc&feature=youtu.be

If you're in the 16th, you're probably completely knackered - you'll likely have to reverse into your pit bay.
If you're in the 17th, entry is no issue, but getting out will need you to go hard left.

With 19 in attendance at Vallelunga, and 17 at Luccaring, we've got to expect that these bays will both be needed and IMHO this means we can't use the track in its current state.

Would not be wanting to to put a lot of practice in to this track for that to happen, was bad enough last week after hours of practice only for my internet to drop on first bloody corner. I'm usually about that position on grid as it happens. ;D

A fix for the pitlane can be found here:

It won't over-write anything and fixes the track both online and offline :)

Amazingly it doesn't cause a server mismatch either!

well that was yet another race ruined by hardware failure  >:(

had a fairly decent race but just didn't like this combination. Was running 4th for about 20mins but then got a little too wide on one of the off camber rights and Stefan and Fabri scarpered past  :'(  kept chasing them but they both had a decent gap and Stefan was getting quicker as the race went on. Made my stop okay but stayed 6th. Ran like that until 15misn to go then my b*stard rift switched off again right in the centre of the fast sweeping last corner  :taz:  Race over.
But I think I have sussed what it is now, Im starting the session in daylight in room then as the race progresses its getting dark and the rift must be losing its tracking, as my room is quite dark now (9.20pm). Same must have happened in my SRO race two weeks ago and last week. Not had the issue until recently as must have had lights on in room and the Rift S relies on decent lighting for the tracking sensors.  ::)

hey ho...  :(

Unlucky MJ..

Another good race, but this time with a decent start. ;D  I briefly lost track of Tim entering T1, so decided to take the safer option of running slightly wide to give him room on the inside.  I wasn't trying to gain time honest.

Once in front I managed to pull out a small gap, but promptly threw it away 2 laps later at the final turn.  Every lap I was flirting with disaster there; the faster I went, the closer I got to the mud on the outside.  One wheel off the track and the back end stepped out.  :o  Luckily I was able to keep the car pointing in the right direction and avoid collecting Tim.   Sorry for the scare.   :whistling:

The chase was on!!!  Lap after lap the gap became smaller.  Tim was at his drift-tastic best, especially through the last corner where he spent most of his time steering left.  It makes me chuckle how you can go so fast, so sideways, in a cloud of tyre smoke.

Passing at this track was always going to be difficult without Tim making a mistake.  So when he braked slightly earlier than I was expecting for T1, I took the opportunity to dive to his inside to claim the apex.  It worked..  Clinging to the inside I was able to gain back the lead before the next left hander.

Tim took an early pit stop, trying to get the undercut.  I was determined that wouldn't be the case, so set about trying to lap consistently in the low 1:44s.   I managed this a few times, which meant a 2 second gap after my pit stop.  By taking a safer line through the final corner, I was able to slowly pull away to take the chequered flag.

Good race Tim..  Still all to play for in the Drivers Championship.

Congrats to Adam for gaining the last place on the podium, and to Gary for finishing 6th.

See you all at Goodwood...

Well done Darren and Tim, great pace up front.

For me - I don't know I've ever had a more boring race.  The two escorts disappeared down road, and I built the gap to 4th ... spent the race basically driving round by myself.

When you started pinging very low 45's in it did get my attention - but then you seemed to lose 8+ seconds at the stop?  What happened?

Not a great race for me. The start was good but I was blocked in the traffic and I didn't manage to get anything. At the beginning of the race my throttle pedal locked open at Rainbow and I was out restarting last. I also completely did a shitty stop.
In the way I managed to get few places having good fun battling with Syd and Tudor.
Especially with Tudor I tried all race to put him under pressure, only one lap I was close to trying an overtake in turn 1. But I locked and ended up hitting him a bit (sry mate hope your car wasn't damaged after that), I regave the position to him and start all again the battle.
The track was good fun but probably not the best from an overtaking prospective.
I'm looking forward to the last event next week!

I'd be suprised that room lighting messes the Rift up. Unless they've change the tracking technique from CV to S as the original used IR.

:( My rift packed up on the sound yesterday so started race with rift and head phones. Result was  not good got way too hot and gave up feeling very sick.  Not too unhappy had it over 4 years with no probs.  Looking at getting some lightweight wireless headphones today to see if that makes it better.  Also a fan my pc room is small and was like a sauna last night!

Yes a nice battle and no problem with the tap, easy to lock up in those downhill braking areas.

Must admit Escort was horrible for me here, I tried several approaches to setup but all yielded same results for me....a car that was more suited to a forest rally stage than a race track. Eventually settled on default with only increased tyre pressures and brake balance moved back. Also I struggled to get tyres back up to pressure after pitstop which didn't help, something I also noticed last week at Lucca  ???

Looking forward to Goodwood next week  :)

After some decent pace in practice qually didn't go well for me, including hitting an Alfa with a green rear panel, sorry for this my fault entirely. In the race things were going ok until a spin between the two right handers that precede the long back straight. Unfortunately I had to sit still until everyone came past, it was then a case of buckling down and had a bit of fun picking off places to work up to 6th.

Congrats to podium.

Gary

Race that has as usual made me fight with Stefan, and as usual I lost.  ;D
I missed the consistency and I made a couple of excursions on the grass.

As said after the race, I will most likely not be in Goodwood because I am away for work. There is a small chance that I will be able to get home just in time, so I will prepare the race as usual.

Congrats to podium!

I think exactly that, they did change the way it tracks. As soon as it failed again last night I went on their help forums (again) and there were several mentions about the tracking requiring adequate lighting. At 7.40 it was light but by 9.15 my room was dark. Hope it is just that as it’s an easy fix.
I honestly thought my broadband would give out anyway as had the BT engineer in the afternoon who told me my fibre was only getting 10mb instead of the 33 it’s capable of  ::) And got crackling phone line, so got open reach coming Friday to sort the external problem.  :surrender:

I’m fairly rural too Bob. Open Reach have found an issue at the exchange box so hopefully sorted today.

Proved my theory on the Rift-room lighting as managed a 1hr race last night without any issues. Lesson learnt!  :)
