(3) General information on the ladder can be found on the series home page (https://www.simracing.org.uk/index.php?ind=lm2&group=25).
(4) This event will be run using a UKGTL carpack v1.2 (https://www.simracing.org.uk/downloads/UKGTL-skins-1.2.zip) which will need to be installed prior to racing.

Is it at the new or old times?  ;)

The field was noticably smaller than at Mondello; of course that could just be a blip. We'll do this race at the new time too and if we don't get a good strength field back we'll go back to the old times.

I think I might try the Elite, even though it won't score TC-65 ladder points. I can't imagine it'll get used much any other time!

Will try to get a bit of practise in tonight, will try the Elite first.

No points for Elite :( Might drive it still.....It's elite or arbath ;)

Ok just done these times(-1 sec for pero ;))
Mini 57.8
Elite 58.2
Arbath 58.8
Jag MkII 1.00.1

The Elite was the most fun to drive but that mingi was easy to get the power down earlier without sliding off :-\ Hmmm what to do...

It still scores ladder points Jon, just in the GTC-65 category.

Not in the GTC-65 ladder though, just in the overall ladder.

Not managed any practice for this yet, might get the Abarth out and give it a whirl - may or may not make the race though, depends how much work I get through today.

The Abarth is a blast to drive and very tempting -- I can get 58.x -- but I have at least tied my time in the Mini with more there still so it looks like the winning car for me.  Hate that hairpin, ugh!!

Hate that hairpin, ugh!!

I find the only way I can get the Abarth into the 58s is to use the handbrake at the hairpin. ;D

I probably just had a lucky lap, lol!!

Got into the low 58s today in Mini, but Jon was much more consistent (a much better race strategy than simply "fast" on a lap or two...).

that was tough!    Had a good start and made a place going into T1 ,  couldnt stay with LeH and Ruskus and they gradually went away.  Had to work really hard in the traffic as Jon was always two to three secs away and ready to pounce if i had made a mistake. Was quite tough to pass the back markers as they werent really doing that much slower laptimes.
By the way the track sucks bigtime!!!
cheers

LOL. What a funny little car. Can you guess what it is yet?

Wasn't going to race as I have work to do, but ended up getting home, helping Picnic and Gizmo test something with rFactor for 30 mins then getting something to eat and going straight into qualifying for GTL. Thought sod it, I can work after the race.

Took the Abarth as I remembered it as slow but cute and mildly fun. Let's just say it wasn't quite how I remembered it. Dire. Awful. Rubbish. Naff, and that was just me.  ;D :o. I'm not even sure the steering wheel was connected to the front wheels, I'm pretty sure when you drive a car, the car is supposed to turn round a corner when you turn the wheel, but the Abarth, well, eh hem. I ended up trying the brake hard and late, turn the wheel as hard as possible and slide sideways round the corners, whilst letting off the throttle from time to time to get pathetic lift off oversteer. Well I did that for a bit, but it was tiresome and not really getting me anywhere other than off the track and spinning onto the grass. Ended up just pootling around trying to pick up places from people leaving. Think I was a lap down on every single driver, but still, I gained 4 positions from the starting position so not too bad.

Note to self, pick a car next time, rather than the quaint little sherbert gob-stopper.

My god that was a yawn fest

I think that was the most boring online race i've ever had :-[  I was about to quit at lap 20 of 40 as i was rapidly losing the will to live  ;D :surrender:, it was only the fact i saw a 4 car squabble just up ahead that i carried on in the hope of some action.

Sorry guys, just didnt find that interesting or adrenalin inducing with such an un-inspiring group of cars and a lame track :sleep1:

Congrats to Leh, Ruskus and Dan on the podium, 8)  hope some of you guys enjoyed it  :wheelchair:

First off sorry to James for the nudge on lap 1 - not intentional and totaly my fault, should have kept more down, but I stepped onto the throtle and that got me wide. Second stupid error in a long string of stupidity.
First error - I wasnt able to turn the bloddy pit limmiter off, second one the nuidge and than I jost lost all abillity to drive properly and after going wide for a number of times I just lost it and left the game.
I havent had the right feel for GTL since a while now and I cant get close to the long term pace I was able to do before - been happening like this from the Comet Suzuka race and going downhill. Hopefully this streak ends soon and I can have fun in the cars again - today was a nightmare.
Maybe I just need a longer brake from GTL :-\
Grats to Leh, Ruskus and Minton

So right Minton, this track is awefull. Just took 2nd in qually in the final minutes.

I was chasing LeH in the beginning of the race, at some point I ovetook him and he was breathing down my neck. Half way I went wide and LeH took the inside and 1st place.
Eventhough the distance between us was never more than 2s (most times within a sec), but the race was soooooo boring. Must also be the car, as it's jingle-all-.....yawn-all-the-way.
At lap 35 I saw my fuel was running out. I had 50 laps of fuel onboard, but I was left with nothing after the finish. ???

Grats to LeH.

Must have benn Captain Stop my fitter from work that put the fuel in.....gonna run him over next time!

Oh......congratulations to Leh, Ruskus and Minton.

Now where's my gun and that sodding fitter........

Congrats to the winner and the rest of the podium. ;)
I hate this kind of tracks (Mondellos, shorts, nationals, indys, east, west, club, half, sport, infield.....well you get the point) >:(
Its very skate and bicycle funny tracks (my humble opinion) ::)
I had no setup for the mighty Abarth ;D
I qualified far behind, almost last :-[
Not bad position in 2nd lap, but, again, i was kicked and spun :'(
So, 2nd lap after the hairpin i was in last :-\ in this  :censored: track :'(
I think i finished before the last, not sure ::)
One thing im sure, this track with this car, :nono: never again :P
I think Shark is agree with me ;D
There were some fun and good moments, tho, i hope i didn´t disturb the flying guys :alien: that laped me several times :sleep1:
See you next race

This race was'nt too bad, i had a few good battles with some drivers, but as soon as the frontrunners came around, i lost concentration on what i was supposed to be doing, and focusing more on letting them past.

So much so, i lost it on the harepin, skidded across the track, and got a stop & go! (cut once earlier). I then went into the pits on the next lap. overshot the entry road, and got stuck IN the traffic lights  :-\

Had to disconnect as couldn't do anything -  :-[
Anyway, some good driving there by all, grats to the winners, quite enjoyed it up to a point ::)

That's not lift throttle oversteer, you're just removing the power understeer.

It's a lot better if you actually practice and set it up properly. Honest. Well, better anyway. ::)

My race was actually quite reasonable, punctuated by two moments of horribleness. First was somehow locking the rears into Startkurven, still don't know why, did the same as normal, but anyway, managed to earn myself a bump from the Mini right behind me and went off, putting myself almost to the back of the field. Not that I was that high to start with! ::) :D

My momentary lapse of reason came after a lap or two following 1p in the big cat. A brave choice and it was quick enough in a straight line that passing him wasn't going to be easy. Got into position coming into the final turn but totally mistimed my acceleration and bumped him round. Pulled over to let him go back ahead but Oilseal unfortunately got caught out by his spun leviathan and 1p retired. :'( Sorry, Stephen, totally my fault and I expect Aagramn will have to throw the book at me. :-[

After that I got stuck back into chasing down whatever few places I could. Took me a few laps to find a way past pribeiro's bread bin, finally making a pass stick by going all the way round the outside of Opel to get the inside line into the hairpin. That was the best bit of racing to be had but it was quite pleasing to be able to match 6th place for pace towards the end of the race, albeit a lap down.

Gotta say I really rather enjoy this track in the slower cars, very fast and furious in nature. Allowing the Jag wasn't really a good plan though, it was just hopelessly outclassed by all the lightweight stuff.

Average race for me. Not alot happened apart from watching Pero drive very un-pero like. After Pero had slid back I had a job on to catch Dan but like he said the gap between us just seemed to stay at around 3-4secs until the end where a little traffic brought him back to me a little. On the last lap we were passing traffic, Mark Jonzo and Aagramn who were fighting for 10th. I had no chance of catching Dan but Mark very kindly pulled aside ruining any chance he had of overtaking Aag showing great courtesy. Thanks MJ a true star 8)
Was glad to have taken the Mini in the end as the extra 0.5 a lap on the elite would've been too much to make up in extra bonus points. Really enjoyed practicing with the elite though.
Nice race all and Grats to LeH :thumbup1:

I absolutely didn't expect to win this race. Like so many here, I'm also not really a fan of the Mini or the track either. I can't get consistent lap times with that thing, and if I get a fast lap, I never know what made the difference. My luck today probably was, that everyone seemed to have the same problem ... :)

I didn't find the race so boring. I found Ruskus and me had a good fight in the first half, and since he still was close behind me the 2nd half, I had no time to get bored. I messed up the hairpin a couple of times, and it always could have happened, that he slipped by there, and I might hadn't gotten another chance to pass him again.

Awesome qual times up at the front, guys!! And grats to LeH, Ruskus, & Minton for the podium, well done!

Wasn't sure I could pull it off as the Mini is not one of my usual drives (give me an Abarth any day!!) but a new PB of 57.7 put me in P7 on the grid (and I can only get 58.x there in an Abarth).  Had my finger poised over the limiter button coming up to the line after the formation lap ... and poised ... and poised ... and finally we were off!  I guess that was Pero not getting his limiter off, lol.  Then I saw james have some help leaving the rim of the second banked turn and besides an almost pass by ASSASSINO in the opening laps (sorry for being so horrible into the hairpin, LOL!), my place was secure from then on.  Had nothing for Jon ahead of me, who also made fewer errors than I did, so I just drove around and around.  And around.  Fairly clean passing the lappers, though approaching them I wasn't so sure.  Sorry you went off, Pero, but thanks for the spot!  ;)  That really doesn't happen often.

There were two incidents in qualifying that I'm not sure I can report as there is no replay (?), both involving the same driver.  I was much faster than this person and made several rapid advances through some turns.  Feeling certain he could see how fast I was coming and thinking he was moving over to let me pass, I was amazed to find him suddenly right in front of me and braking hard and early into the hairpin; I tapped him and spun him around, sorry for that.  So one hotlap ruined.  On the next lap the same driver came out of the pits in front of me and again did not give way, this time clearly on an outlap and going much more slowly with odd lines making it difficult to find a way around and keep my pace.  Two hotlaps ruined.  The main point I'm trying to make is that it's really no big deal to move out of the way of faster cars, in fact I did it myself today, and especially easy on your outlap.  Please use your mirrors and let the hotlappers have their hotlaps, thanks.

That was the most boring race i have ever been in, and didnt help bein in the jag either.  It wasnt too bad on the straights but was a lot of understeer in all the corners.

I think dave tapped me going into the last corner and then my wheel decided too stop working so i was sitting in the middle of the track and had 2 quit.

Sorry dave but wasnt my fault blame thrustmaster crap steerin wheels

Ah, I assumed you had quit in frustration, didn't realised you had a wheel problem. Pity. :(

I tried the Jag in testing but couldn't get close to lapping in under a minute. Might've fun in a single make spec race though, very sideways. :D

In my own head i had awarded 1p (odd name) my 'driver of the night award'...top marks for taking the Jag, it was good fun watching you chucking it sideways around the turns.  :o 8)

but in the end, it showed the futility of racing these crap cars...was it worth the effort and giving up an evening :-\ Personally i think not, its hard for me to get a thursday evening race in and would much more have enjoyed a decent race with race-like cars and a proper circuit. (just my personal opinion).....and i've had a few jars  ;)

Had an OK race, but was getting a bit fed-up with the track towards the end. Think Brands Indy is the best of the short layouts.

Congrats to LeH for the win, and Ruskus for keeping him in sight.
