Practice session underway, race to start 21:30 UK. No password required / not an official event. Cheers, Dave. Title: Re: UKGPL Season 37 (2020) - Goodwood - Aug 4 Post by: Billy Nobrakes on August 02, 2020, 11:10:07 PM +0100 Please note change of format - 2 x short races with 67 F1 & 67 F2.
The first race (not quallifying) starts at 21.00 UK time). Title: Re: UKGPL Season 37 (2020) - Goodwood - Aug 4 Post by: Billy Nobrakes on August 03, 2020, 10:56:41 PM +0100 As far as we can tell the track has proved safe for both the 67 F1 & F2 cars. If anyone does experience problems in either race can you please report in this thread, explaining what went wrong & where.

I intend to do both races. Have tested each offline in each mod with no glitches. Fingers X'd for the online runs tomorrow. Title: Re: UKGPL Season 37 (2020) - Goodwood - Aug 4 Post by: PaulV on August 04, 2020, 09:18:15 PM +0100 crazy fun while it lasted. lap 8. just crossing the start - finish line. total freeze. not even sound. had to Ctrl-Alt-Delete to get out. task manager said that the papyrus window wasnt responding. lets hope F2 pans out better... server wise ? Title: Re: UKGPL Season 37 (2020) - Goodwood - Aug 4 Post by: AnGex on August 04, 2020, 10:01:41 PM +0100 With the 67er everyting worked very well. The Qualy with the F2 was also good. But when I hit the green Flag to start the Race the Computer had a Freeze. Strange thing...
Title: Re: UKGPL Season 37 (2020) - Goodwood - Aug 4 Post by: PaulV on August 04, 2020, 10:11:25 PM +0100 another freeze. with only 2 laps to go. the F2 cars are great at goodwood though. amazing. Title: Re: UKGPL Season 37 (2020) - Goodwood - Aug 4 Post by: Phil Thornton on August 04, 2020, 10:34:03 PM +0100 Unfortunately there does appear to be a problem with the track that affects all the mods, well the ones we've tried (67F1, 67F2 and SCx). I'm not sure about the 65s (we used them in the Stirling Moss Memorial race) there were discos but no reported screen freezes. So it looks like we won't be able to use this track for league races which is a great shame.
Thanks to everyone who turned up to race, the good attendance made it a thorough test. Thanks to Dave for providing the server. Good fps all-round. Goodwood is harder than it might first seem.
Title: Re: UKGPL Season 37 (2020) - Goodwood - Aug 4 Post by: Alain Maurice on August 05, 2020, 11:07:10 AM +0100 Good morning all
Thank you for organizing the race. No freeze for me on the 2 races, just drops in FPS to report. See you soon for other tests. Stirling Moss was almost disconnected in several places, back in 1962. :o
To reduce the graphic load, and improve framerates, go to : GPL/tracks/goodwd65/UNZIP ME Options_and_info.zip. 1/ Use the Low_Res_addon. 2/ Remove the sounds. Ginetto has been our number 1 track builder for many years, with good reliable tracks until recently. Beta testers reading this, should relay the Summer freeze. Feedback about Online track trouble, may help quell his assistant(s) pushing for maximum everything, at the cost of good racing. :-\ If a shorter track draw distance is, or will be made available, another test might be worthwhile. Title: Re: UKGPL Season 37 (2020) - Goodwood - Aug 4 Post by: Gareth on August 05, 2020, 08:25:44 PM +0100 Thats a very good point.
I have NASCAR 2003 and rally trophy, neither worked to their best, if at all, with hardware at the time, a 1g Athlon voodoo 2 era. By the time the hardware caught up the software was not compatible, is it 1.4 or 1.7g that gpl doesn't work without the installer? GPL is for all, not just those who have an i9 and can spend £500 on a gfx card. Title: Re: UKGPL Season 37 (2020) - Goodwood - Aug 4 Post by: Billy Nobrakes on August 05, 2020, 08:52:44 PM +0100 Martin,
Goodwood is one of my favourite tracks. I was gratified to hear that an updated version had been released & equally saddened to find out there are disconnection issues again. More than happy to sacrifice some of the visual aspects if we can get a functional version that is safe for league racing. Title: Re: UKGPL Season 37 (2020) - Goodwood - Aug 4 Post by: fpolicardi on August 06, 2020, 10:07:23 AM +0100 Some good information from Alain. Sad to see this track again making trouble. Stirling Moss was almost disconnected in several places, back in 1962. :o Thx Martin for heads up, I'll try the addon. I put details at 60% and AA at 4x without Supersampling on an old 10 years ATI 5770 1Gb and had some fps drop at start and towards the end of the lap, about 50-55. At start shut off Pribluda and gained a couple of frame. No difference between F1 and F2. Ehm no freeze here ;DTo reduce the graphic load, and improve framerates, go to : GPL/tracks/goodwd65/UNZIP ME Options_and_info.zip. 1/ Use the Low_Res_addon. 2/ Remove the sounds.
