Good track for the TC-65s.  :)

OK I dusted down my copy of GTL and it still works  ;D

So a couple of questions

1.) What is a fair lap time round Brands Indy in one of these. I found mid 57s(With race fuel) quite easily in the Mini and the Cortina but I would imagine that is quite slow.

2.) Is the fuel calculation Correct for add on tracks in GTL

3.) How can I have forgotten how much fun these cars are to drive  ???

2.) Is the fuel calculation Correct for add on tracks in GTL

No I don't think so. You'll need to do some manual calculations.

Thanks, thought that may be the case but just checking.

I've not checked - but are the fuel useage figures correct in GTL PD?

The "fuel used last lap" is accurate.

The "fuel used last lap" is accurate.

It is, but you need to do 2 laps really as the one after the outlap can't calculate it cause you never started the lap so usually it has a large figure.

The Mini should be good round here I reckon. Perhaps we can coax Pops out of GTL retirement for this one?

I'd shredded my tyres after half distance so it was just a matter of keeping it on the track. I'm sure I was 7th at one point so how I finished 8th when I don't remember anyone passing me for position I'm not sure?!

Towards the end I was focused on trying to catch and lap Oilseal but ran out of time and talent. Did some fantabulous doughnuts at the end there though until my right rear went pop.

First time id played GTL for a few months and god it felt slow at first after all the hours ive been spending on GTR2 lately.  Good race although it felt a bit short,  Just about stayed with Barracus for the first 5 or 6 laps before i made that school boy error of letting the car drift too wide out Clearways and ploughinhg through gravel for a hundred yards ::).   That let Assisano through but he then made a mistake and i got back past.  After that just drove round and round.
Love Brands you can always get a nice rythem round there.
Great driving by everyone and grats to Barracus.

Had a terrible start,  :( took turn wide and Gizmo capitailised. He then pulled away and there was no way I could catch him(well done). Madd appeared from somewhere think he may have had a coming together with someone.(Glad it wasn't me for a change).  :P He pitted then came back out and the last I saw of him was on the grass. I had a good little battle with Will for a good few laps. Will slightly nudged me wide and took the place then I returned the compliment(not intentionally honest) and took the place back and didn't see him again.  The rest of the race was me going around lap after lap with the odd car apperaing to lap me(think it was up to sixth).  Excellent pace p1 baracus for passing me twice (was delighted not). Think I need to keep practising. Thanks for the clean race lads cheers.  :thumbup2:

What a fantastic race that was !  8)  Loved every minute of it. The track and car combination just oozed nostalgia.

How cool did that grid line up look on the formation lap through this great track?! Mind you, it was dying for a standing start on that nice big open straight and paddock bend. I've spent many a day on that bank watching the grid come hurtling down through there.
Clarey seemed to like that sand trap ! :P

Had a superb long battle with Mag07 for lap after lap, swapping places a couple of times until unfortunately whilst glued together up in druids we brushed really slightly, but enough to spin him round :(  I came to a complete stop hoping he could spin back around quickly but then moved on. I slowed to let you catch a bit and was going to let you back past for another fight but could then see Tom Cooper catching you. Think you then binned it at paddock?

Was really confused to then find myself chasing Pribero as his car had been shown 7th last i saw it, behind me and Mag, his car was 'disco'd at cleaways for many laps, then wierdly came to life in front of me at the same spot ! ??? So i didnt know if i was chasing a ghost car or an out of position one as his place number kept flicking between 4th and 7th  :o
Ghost or not he was moving fast so i chased him down and got a great over take move down the inside at Paddock and forged ahead...was very chuffed with that move
Then started to close down Assassino steadily, but not enough time left at end and brought it home a well deserved 4th  8) Might have been a podium with some more laps as had got a great rhythm going.  :-\

Really enjoyed that, i hope we continue to keep a good GTL championship going. Maybe do some polls ? and see what everyones preference is for a future champ format so that we keep good numbers and attract others.
Top stuff  8)

Graet race by all, congrats to podium, had a long, long battle with Mark J,but I think I was maybe holding you up abit :)you were faster through the bends which proberbly lead to the slight tap at the hairpin,if I'd only known you were wanting to pass me ;D,but no problem I'm only having fun and making the numbers up!

Still kicking myself for the off at Paddock, might have keeped the battle going all race ;)

All in all great race, great racing and very happy with 6th,roll on next week

Had some really good close racing tonight, with Ossie, for the first 10 laps or so, then i decided to give him some of my paint, then he gave me some of his, and that was it then - lost control after two wheels went off the tarmac and onto the grass -  just catching up and had him in my sights on lap 41, but race over - good stuff Ossie  8)

Had a good battle with Coop also (can't remember which one as there were two), in the Team oldie Cortina - kept trying to find a place to pass, but he wasn't making it easy ;)

I had PRiberio's car stationary on the track for a good few laps  - did anyone else see this, or was it just me?

Hope GTL keeps going at SROU  8)

Glad to hear a few others share my sentiments for supporting GTL

Whats in store for next week?

Just to enforce my need for a proper championship with moderation, i jumped onto a 76 race at Monza straight after, on the public servers  ::) About 10 of us made the effort to qually properly and a few twats didnt bother, the same few who then proceeded to drive full speed into the pack braking at the first chicane  >:( and KO'd about 5 of us...idiots, why do they bother ??? do they just get a kick out of ruining guys races who actually want to race? Big shame as its hard to find quality GTL races now.

Whats in store for next week?

76ers at Nurby Sprint (https://www.simracing.org.uk/smf/index.php?topic=2221.0). Capri time! :w00t:

Not sure what we're going to do in December. The Ladder's attendence has dropped alarmingly since GTR2 came out, leaving a question mark over its future. I'm tempted to set up a three race mini-championship for December, not sure what though, to see if things improve.

Yikes, december will not be a good month to bench mark attendance really as most people have all sorts of commitments leading upto xmas  :-\

How about some polls Dave to see where most peoples interest lays ? ie preffered class and/or track combo's. I dont think there will be enough attendees to continue trying out random car/track combos but you might continue to attract a good core of racers who really enjoy the older cars as at Brands last night.

I would have been there last night had I not been otherwise engaged.  I don't want to drop GTL, I really enjoy the close racing the TC65's bring (my favorite class in GTL) but also enjoy the challenge of doing battle in the bigger cars.  If the ladder is likely to stop, I'd like to see a series of 6 race champs.

Despite my woeful attendance for GTL (Sorry, Thursdays are *really* bad for me), I'd really like to see it continuing. I'll make an extra effort to attend in the latter part of this month, and December.

I reckon this will only be a blip while GTR2 is new. There's a lot to get used to in GTR2, and I know quite a few people are spending more time trying to learn the cars, quirks, etc. However, as Will says, you get a real appreciation for GTL after driving in GTR2. Sure, it really feels slow for a while, but then you get back into the groove, and you feel like your more in control - it feels more relaxed after the insane power of the GT cars.

So keep up the good work and long live GT Legends!

Only my opinion, but the Ladder is the best thing this organisation does. Much better than a championship - it allows drivers to opt in and out at will, without total ruination for an unavoidable non-attendance.

Please SROU moderator guys, keep GTL alive :-*

I think it will be a real shame to do away with the ladder, or any other type of GTL related action.

Keep it diverse, or i think people *may* get bored with the lack of variety (as good as GTR2, rFactor & the rest are) - GTL has a good following here

Good race at Brands. I'm still a bit shell shocked that I was that far clear in Qual on this short track, especially coz I had no practice recently and I did a setup tweak in the 10 min practice (which really worked for a change!). Thanks to all drivers I lapped for being very considerate, too considerate really - I was trying not to interupt your races as I saw a few of you were in close battles.

Gotta say since driving both GTR2 and GTL I much prefer GTL on the whole - it will definately be the one I stick with in the long term but as is pointed out the public servers are pretty much a no-go area now :(

As you can probably tell my favourite car is the Alfa, but I find all the "old" cars in GTL much more interesting that the modern beasties.

At the end of the day I just love "any" racing but the cars in this have so much charm and its really interesting seeing how the different parameters fare against each other. (i.e fast on the straight and crap in corners vs. better handling and lower top speeds) and I think the gernerally slower speeds make much more exciting overtaking opportunities, as you really have to plan out your move rather than simply waiting for a mistake from the driver in front.

Its a shame the grid wasn't as full as we have had in the past but I agree that its just a blip whilst people get their teeth into GTR - also I know a few folks PC's have died too, so they are out of action for a while.

I heard that 10T have the license for a Ferrari based game - sounds like my dream come true and I hope it means older classic cars rather than F430 challenge or anything...????!!!! See http://www.playfuls.com/news_8114_Ferrari_License_Signed_For_10tacle_Racing_Games.html

By the way I will not be available next Tuesday or Thursday for the UKGTL/R races as I'm off to Venice for a few days.

:o I too concour with keeping GTL alive, the mere thought of dropping it is unfair, just because you cannot do 170 mph on most tracks means diddly squat, these cars are fun!  I was loving my race last night until the dastardly pc pulled a strop, mainly cos you can drift around Brands! So sweet! Shifts allowing I've attended all the races I can.

KEEP GTL LADDER ALIVE

Its the first week since April when i haven't worked evening/night shifts, and will be able to make some more events in the future(watch out next week :o).  Just remind me to put some practice in (ok, alot of practice :D)

Hope i didn't get in the way of any battles as you lapped me, i did manage to battle for last place for the first 13 laps before my first of many mistakes happened.
I hope brands dont charge me to replace the corner distance signs too! :P

Thats odd :o
After Mag and Mark spun, i overtake them, reach 4th place and then Mark followed me, untill he passed  me

I didnt notest any lag or problem, if i scared someone, i apologize :-[
