Round 8 is the 3 litre 1966 cars at Aintree. Now rather more famous for horse racing, the site is located in the outskirts of Liverpool in the north of England. It is where Stirling Moss, driving a Mercedes, won his first British Grand Prix in 1955.  After a race of 90 laps, Stirling finished in a time of 3h 7m 21.2s, just 0.2 seconds head of his illustrious Argentine teammate Juan Manuel Fangio. Mercedes dominated the race with a 1–2–3–4 finish with Karl Kling and Piero Taruffi driving the other two Mercedes cars. The first British driver / British car victory in a British Grand Prix was also at Aintree in 1957, when Stirling Moss and Tony Brooks shared a Vanwall.

My rather expensive Fanatec pedals seem to have a mind of their own. Had to recalibrate everything & just couldn't get the brakes to apply the same pressure as they had been in practice. Somehow got one rather good lap in quallifying but span off on the first race 3 laps. Knew it wasn't my night so I retired. I've had this before with these pedals. If it happens again they are headed for the scrap metal dealers and I'll climb back into the loft & find my old Logitec ones.
Not a big fan of German engineering at the moment.

A very exciting race with David. I almost pulled off a brilliant pass into the Melling Crossing on the last lap but I ran wide. Fortunately for me David did too so I managed to get over the finish line ahead. However, I think I'll have to give the place back after our contact on lap 6. I think that will mean you have the Privateers title pretty much won. I won't be able to catch you even if I win the last 2 rounds. Well done

It isn't the old USB3 problem is it?

Billy are they connected to a black or blue USB port? Do not use a blue USB3  one.

My old CSL V1 brake pedal has to be hard pressed before I drive, to self calibrate, else they do not reach their maximum in the first corner.

Yes, one of the more exciting race I ever had !

There was a little contact between our two cars but then I didn't take the chance to keep this advantage.

Then I made a few mistakes (including my last lap) and also I had a big contact with Bastian's car stuck in the middle of the track.
Hopefully, the BT19 was very robust and I could continue the race.

Of course, I don't want to win the Privateers title on this way and will answer to your race report on LM2.
So at this moment, I have 358 pts with 86 to remove (2 worst results) and you 324 minus 57 : so 272 vs 267 !!!
the 2 following races will be even more exciting...

By the way, not sure the next race will be in Goodwood !?

Aintree is a "strange" track almost for me, seems to be wide and simple but it's always a problem to push un the throttle cause spin, and in the wide turn the car slip outside too easily, but maybe it's only my impression, sure there I must drive with particular care, Mclaren and his poor torque doesn't helps
After a spin in the first lap and restart in the back of the group my recovery it was helped by some driver's mistakes ahead of me so I could to gain an optimum podium with few overtakes

Great race, Alessandro, with the underpowered McLaren M2B  :thumbup1:
If you look at GPLrank, you made the best lap ever registered at Aintree with the M2B (...but there is only 5 drivers on the list).

Just a precision related to my contact with Phil's car :
After your spin (Alessandro), when you came in my mirrors, I slowed down to let you overtake me (knowing you're way quicker than me) but Phil took this opportunity to try to overtake and then there was a contact wit our two cars.

Congratulation Tristan, Alessandro and Clive (missing teamie Axel?)!
Another exciting, close and hard fight again against a Ferrari, this time with Tristan, incl. a collision with two laps to go! I had not expected to be so competitive here in Aintree with the heavy Honda! At least second in the end and now only one more point in the championship lead - will be exciting - like my last three races.
When I took a look at RaceGraph, I was surprised what had happened. It looks like an exciting race for many drivers. THX to all backmarkers, good job what is not easy here.
Great racing here in the UK! :)

So I missed the V3 at lap 1, then, be back behind Magic but he did mistake and we bumped together ...!!!
I do not remember what happened then, but it was so hard...between 30 and 50fps all the time.

I had a great race from the back. I managed to make up a few places due to some accidents ahead but how I managed to stay alive after crashing into a burning and spinning car after a few laps goodness only knows. No need for a Shift-R - The Eagle is clearly made of strong stuff.

Thanks to Alain for some great laps in his other Eagle. I made too many mistakes but still a lot of fun. See you next time.

Good morning all

Grats Tristan, Uli and Alessandro.

Difficult race, a too high engine temperature the whole race forced me to ease off several times because I am too afraid of a breakage of it, but in any case impossible to do better with this car.
There was a good time with Pete and Philippe on several laps.

Thanks to the organizers and see you next time.
