Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules.
(3) The AI control should be turned off so that you have control of the car at all times, including pitting. Your player file should therefore read
Autopit="0"
Force Autopit Off="1" // Forces autopit always off
No AI Control="1" // AI never has control over car
If you still finding pitting problematic, experience tells us that its less to do with positioning and more to do with approach speed. A slow approach to pit crew chief has proved most reliable.

Special Notes: None.

Tony, I'd like to switch to my trusty old Purple Knight, the #99 car please, as I again suspect there's something wrong with #37.

Back in the first race of the series in 2017, I had several crashes & lockups with #37.  Convincing myself it was probably just flukes, I wanted to give it another go, but GTL has just crashed to desktop twice with #37!

Don't want to take any chances, and knock on wood, it hasn't happened with #99 yet.

This Boss Mustang and the Sprint one are just amazing cars. You can feel that you are driving a powerhouse but it has enough grip as well. Totally love it already after 10 laps at Calder. The sound is amazing as well. Hope we will have big grid tonight.

It's an epic car - our series with it in 2017 was really memorable!  :)

As a big Mustang fan i was hoping for a great race weekend here.

And it was fun. I had great pace and took the pole, but at the start i mess up the things by allowing the car to go to the grass.

After losing 4 positions i was hoping to quickly regain them and not let Geoff pull away because i knew he was going to have my pace.

Unfortunately i needed few laps to go into P2 but Geoff was now 15 seconds ahead. The chance to catch him was no more than 5% now as we all now how good Geoff is when he is leading comfortably.

I pushed really hard though and until the end i was able to make the gap down to 5 seconds but i am sure Geoff was just moderating the gap and didn't made any risks.

Congrats to Geoffers for the great win and the tempo and to Fulvio for the podium! :)

One of my favourite car mods, the Boss Mustang is great fun, although this track was a little tight & twisty for it in parts.

DD was super quick in qually whereas I struggled a little as I had done all my testing with full fuel & the car handled differently with low fuel. Particularly the first chicane where, with low fuel it wanted to rotate more when running over the kerbs, this was also a problem late in the race too.

The race though didn't turn out how I expected, DD got a bad start & after I had fended off super starter Dan on the first lap I was able to open up a comfortable lead & as DD said I was 15s ahead by the time he got into 2nd place. The gap yoyoed between 10 & 12s for many laps but when the fuel load lightened & the car became a bit trickier DD closed the gap. I also had to be a little careful through the second chicane as I twice got on the grass at the exit & got cut track warnings, so could not afford to do it again. Happily I made the finish with about 5s to spare.

Congrats to DD & Fulvio on the podium.

Grats to podium guys.

I always like the big muscle cars and that V8 rumble. Just a shame that these cars had those infernal modern slick tyres  ::)

As you know I am now trying to use an "H" shift which has been a major reason for not finishing races recently, so I really wanted to reach the chequered flag and restore a little confidence.
A general question here about these cars. Normally in GTL racses I might lose 4%-5% of engine health over the course of a race, but last night my Mustang started at 100% and was reduced to 40% health by the end of the race  :o. I am wondering if it was my bad use of the shifter, or normal for this car??

Quali was better for me than I expected and when DD and Erling had issues at the start I was way ahead of where I expected to be at the end of L1. Geoffers was making himself a distant memory up ahead, but I had Fulvio's rear end right in my face. This was a long race, so I did not want to let ambition exceed ability too early and sat behind him. TBH he was going as fast as I felt comfortable with anyway so we ticked off the laps, until DD loomed large in the mirrors from a large cloud of red mist.

Both Fulvio and myself were exchanging small errors and although the gap between us opened and closed we were running the same average pace. DD was obviously faster and passed us both when I missed a gear into T1 and just avoided taking out Fulvio. The next few laps were intense as I slowly reduced the gap to Fulvio only to throw it all away when I selected 2nd instead of 4th through that fast chicane.............. :scared: but I survived and continued although Fulvio escaped into the distance.

Then Erling decided that he would entertain me for a few laps and it was rather strange/coincidental that at the same time a small pothole in the tarmac developed at T1??. For several laps my car bounced sideways as I entered T1, I just cannot understand why  ::)

Eventually another fluffed gearchange gave Erling the excuse to overtake and he promptly stuck his car onto the grass and allowed me to regain my place like a true gentleman. My opinion changed a few laps later when he insisted on regaining the advantage  :-\

But despite all of the H shift issues and my lack of ability I got to see the flag in a race...at last  ;)

BTW I agree with Geoffer's  about the cars not handling so well on light fuel load. I set my quali time on full tanks and could not match it when I dropped to 5 laps worth for a kamikaze lap. The car was much easier to drive when heavy.

Disastrous race from start to finish.  Couldn't quite match my pb in qual, but didn't matter, as it wouldn't have changed my position.  Found the start very tricky - at 3000rpm it bogged down, at 3500rpm it smoked the tyres!

Got okaish off the line, passing the fishtailing Dimitar, but when I stupidly wanted to confirm that the green/white rocket shooting past was indeed Dan, I accidently hit my 'Neutral' button instead of the 'tags' one. With all the noise around me, I couldn't hear what was wrong and dropped like a stone through the field.  Regained some positions when others went off and found myself chasing Roger. Made a move after some laps, but ran wide into the corner, forcing him off the track - apologies for that.  Waiting let both Dimitar & Matt through, before Roger could pass again.  Next attempt went a little better, and I then chased Matt until he went off.

Homed in on Clive & Fulvio, finding it hard to get past the former.  After finally succeding, I got distracted flashing a 'thank you' to Tony for letting me lap him, missed my braking point and went on the grass, as commented by Clive.  More screw-ups when I got on the power too soon, lost the rear, spun off and kissed the wall.  Clive now 15 secs ahead and I wasn't closing; that is, until I found him rejoining just 2 secs ahead.  Thus the battle started again. He had a few sideways moments, but is just too good at recovering from these.  Placed his car very cleverly in the middle, at the end of the straight.  I was looking for an opportunity, while simultaneously trying not to take him out under braking.  His position forced me to the extreme left or right, but when I took the bait, I would get squeezed, leding to a few near misses.  Etiquette meant waiting for him to get up to speed again.  Apologies to Dimitar; it was during one of these you lapped me.  Had not seen you at all, so a complete surprise when you suddenly broke my right rear light.

My battle with Clive eventually forced me to evasive action, cutting the corner at T1, getting a warning - my 2nd.  Didn't want a S/G so backed off and fell back, resigned to just following him home for the remaining laps.  However, a new opportunity presented itself when he lost enough time for me to be closer down the start/finish, allowing me to put myself decidedly up the inside before T1.

Grats to Geoffers & pod - based on results, it appears two drivers should push ahead with this, and the rest of us are more suited for a knitting club..  ;)

ahh - ok - thanks.
I had one too with my G25, destroyed it (lots of plastics inside), bought a second one in used condition, damaged that too.
As I was unable to repair, although I found repair instructions on the net years ago, I used the pedals for a longer period of time.
Then decided to buy a Thrustmaster TH8A as I like old style shifting (although it makes  me even a little slower) which is built like a rock
and works fine with the G25.
