(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules.
(3) The AI control should be turned off so that you have control of the car at all times, including pitting. Your player file should therefore read
Autopit="0"
Force Autopit Off="1" // Forces autopit always off
No AI Control="1" // AI never has control over car
If you still finding pitting problematic, experience tells us that its less to do with positioning and more to do with approach speed. A slow approach to pit crew chief has proved most reliable.

Special Notes: Turn off cuts

Welcome to beautiful Leipzip, City of fine art museums, a zoo and a Coffee museum?

Also worthy of a mention are the slippery road surfaces, the catastrophic chicane's, the killer kerb's and the lethal lamp post's.

Cuts are on, but they are fair.

Enjoy  ;)

I have not d/loaded this track yet, but from the description it sounds like the same as we have over in GPL.

The reputation of this track is so daunting that many drivers simply refuse to take part in any races around these streets lol. It is almost as if the track designers carefully placed lamp posts exactly where the tail of a car might hang out 10cms too far on the slippery cobbled surface, or made the kerbs just a little higher where one might be tempted to try and squeeze the racing line. Oh, and if it has those slippery cobbled surfaces, you had better hope that it does not rain.

If you find Monaco a challenge, you'll just love Leipzieg :scared:

I will stick my neck out here and say that I like this track in GPL and enjoy the challenge. Now watch me launch my chosen car skywards over a kerb before wrapping it around an ornate cast iron lamp post on lap 1  ::)

Hi guys,

will miss tonight's race. Groggy from today's daily routine: work, dentist, roofers & spidermen at home  :P

Have fun

The anti-cut police has forgot their glasses. I recieve a cut in places were there is no way you can cut - just like the last chicane  ::)

Hmm, I've only had a cut on the inside of a left turn so I assumed it was a good call.

You can't win here by a cut Tony, so please remove them if nobody is against that call. It will be double punishment - for example if you go on the kerb after turn 2, the game gives you cut and you lose time.

This track has always been about making precise cuts anyway, at least in GPL, so that shouldn't be punished as it's so easy to lose time doing it rather than gain any advantage.

I'll make an Admin note, so that cuts will be turned off at this track in future.

I was doubtful about attending tonight's trio. I had my 1st Covid jab on Monday and unfortunately I'm one of the 1 in 10 who gets side effects. Just flu like symptoms but knocked me for six. Feeling very weak now after those three events. Still rather that than the actual Covid.

Hope you feel better soon Tony.

A night to laugh at from my point of view, not a lot went right.I'm thinking I might have used up all my luck whilst driving the Scirrocco!

All my quali laps were slower than I managed in practise a couple of nights ago, and I managed to crash lots in every race so that was that really.  This has never been very high on my lost of tracks to race on, great for hotlapping for the challenge of getting it right, but so very dangerous in the race....Apologies to all those I either contacted, span in front of, and just plain put off with my general shenanigans tonight....

Well done to the podium guys, top marks.

So sorry to hear that Tony. I have appointment next week for vaccine so i am going to be the next one. Hope this pandemic is going to it's end.

Lucky guys, Tony and Dimitar  :) & good luck

I don't expect that I'll get any chance for vaccination before summer due to German and European bureaucracy
and lack of vaccine.

Probably have to cancel my six week Denmark holidays (already booked last August) in May/June within the next weeks
due to the pandemic, no vaccination and the fact that the Danish border is still closed for private travellers (at least I have
the chance to cancel for free until six weeks before the trip).
Very depressed about the perspective as I travel alone and I'll be alone for six weeks (kind of eremitism) only being outside
riding on my bicycle and sitting in the dunes watching the horizon  8)

Another lost year.

Hope that you feel better in a few days Tony, we cannot have our UKGTL organiser/oracle on the sick list......I might have an urgent technical question then who would I ask for help!!??  ::)
Seriously, take good care of yourself first Tony, any flu is bad but manflu is not to be sniffed at ;).

I confess that my heart was just not in it for Leipzeig, despite quite liking the circuit from my GPL experience. The combination of rushed and fumbled gearshifts, because the cars all appeared to require a gearchange just when I would prefer to have both hands on the steering wheel, and far too many ornate lamp posts ( although there may be a couple missing this morning ) combined to make this an evening to forget.
I also had a setup problem which manifested itself as a self perpetuating tank slapper that once started simply increased in amplitude until it threw the car off the track. No amount ( large or small) of corrective steering would control it and the only recourse was to brake and slow the car dramatically....not something that following drivers would have appreciated I suspect?

I cannot decide if my setup was too soft, or too hard, or did I have diff settings that produced the instability? Answers please to Mable, who will collate the proffered advice before slapping Arnold around the head for screwing up the handling in the first place.

After the disasters of the last few races, at least I got two pretty good performances in here.

Race one was not bad but could have been a bit better. Was struggling a bit in practice & qually with oversteer, so reduced the power diff for the race, mistake, it made the car a bit too understeery. However, even without that problem I doubt I could have challenged the top 3. Did get into 3rd for a couple of laps when Daz went exploring the time keepers box, but he soon caught me up & passed me, so quite happy with 4th.

Race two went better. I found the E-type a delight around here & was challenging Niko for the lead early on until he had had enough of my attentions & drove off into the distance. Ziu & Hristo were close behind early on, but I think both of them went examining the scenery leaving me with a comfortable 2nd place.

So after two error free races I think I got a bit overconfident in race three. Made an error on my qually lap, clipping the kerb at the second chicane & being lucky not to spin out, so quite surprised to still qualify 5th. Ran 4th on the first lap after Daz spun at T3 & was looking good for a battle with DD, Ziu & Hristo. On lap 2 though I just caught too much grass at the final chicane which pulled the car left into the wall & wrecked the steering, got as far as the next turn when applying the brakes made the car turn right :o. No option but to retire.

Congrats to Niko on 2 wins & to Ziu on the other win & to all others on the podiums.

PS: Hope your flu symptoms don't last too long Tony & you are back to normal soon. Just recieved my vaccine letter in the post so should be getting mine soon.

I was definitely far away from my standards that night.

I think the main problem were the setups. I had a lot of understeer and that made my first two races total disasters.

At least we had a lot of fun with Fulvio and every time i was driving around him, a big accident was following for me. He was my black cat that night. :D

The most embarrassing moment was in Race 2 where i made a slip and was not sure where is the right circuit direction. Unfortunately it turn out i am going backwards and i saw Niko approaching fast. Fortunately i was able to quickly hit the escape button and protect him.

Race 3 was finally back to my standards (yeah, this does not sound modest :D ). I was finally able to finish my qualy lap and was going to start from P4.

The start was great and i overtake Ziu. Daz lock his brakes and span on turn 3 so i was just behind Niko now. I was lucky because Ziu, Geoff and Daz had problems. Hristo though was approaching me fast with his Aston Martin and i knew i don't have a big chance to fight with him. And i just wanted to finish in the podium so i was not fighting too much there.

At Lap 9 i was about to lose the podium though. Dan hit the post and his car started flying. Unfortunately for me he landed on my roof :D and i span. Fortunately for me i was able to stay in P3 but now with just 3 sec ahead of Erling.

Congrats to Niko for the great two home wins and performance and to Ziu on his win in Race 1. Congrats to all drivers on the podium as well!

You could say that I quite liked the cars and the track.
The last two races were actually a bit boring because I was all alone in front, but hey, the results were great!

I also have something for you to watch:

Hristo though was approaching me fast with his Aston Martin and i knew i don't have a big chance to fight with him.

It was actually a Ferrari, but the blue one  ;D

I decided to take part in this event in the last moment, so had to miss the first race while waiting for the cars + tracks to finish downloading. Took some time to try 1-2 laps of each car while race one was under way, but even though I knew the track from my GPL days, it was quite tricky to figure out how to approach braking and cornering with these cars.

The Jaguar seemed the easiest of the 3 straight out of the box, so I took that one for race 2. Turns out it wasn't as easy, or perhaps I messed up the setup before the start. I had speed, but was way too inconsistent and making mistakes. The gearing was just not so good (which was an issue with all 3 cars really), so I found myself sliding and spinning a few times because of having too high or too low revs. Finished a low 7th in that race.

For the 3rd race I decided to go with the Ferrari, because the Aston felt so sluggish under braking when I tested it earlier. Although I couldn't complete a lap in qualifying, I managed to improve the setup a lot and was confident for the race. Made a great start, but then lost all the positions gained in the first 2 corners. Still managed to gain a lot of ground by the end of lap 1 and was even optimistic I might have a shot for victory. Overtaking turned out to be difficult though, especially vs. Ziu, who was defending quite eagerly.

Once I was past him, it was just Dimitar and Niko up ahead, but by then Niko had built a rather big gap. After losing some time with unforced errors, I finally caught up to Dimitar and we had a short but nice battle, going wheel to wheel for 2 corners, before he was forced to let me go as we approached the last fast chicane.

My highlight of the race was doing 2 fastest laps in a row in the last 2 laps, with the final one turning out to be the fastest lap overall from all 3 races.

I hope to join more races with these cars in the future. Congrats to Ziu and Niko for the wins! Hope you have a speedy recovery, Tony!

Quite liked the layout of the track, but the killer curbs, overly vigilant track police, treacherous lamp posts and slippery cobblestones, made driving here a dubious pleasure.  Been a long time since I was so tensed up in wrists & shoulders, from trying to drive these imprecise, badly braking cars with the level of precision required.  Humiliation doled out by the aliens was on a different level here - laptimes of the front runners seemed scarcely believable.  That Hristo sets the fastest lap overall with next to no practice just makes it even more surreal  :o

Races were a bit of a mixed bag.  Race announcement for race 1 said qual would start at 20:25, so thought I would be just in time when I joined a few minutes before, only to find it was already under way. Only just time for one attempt, but got called out of the overly eager track police for the tiniest of infractions, so with no time set I was starting at very back.  Gained a fair few places through the start and first corners, ending in the 5th place I would hold for the rest of the race.  Couldn't keep up with the guys in front, and pulled away from those behind, so mostly lonely. Clipped a barrier & spun late in the race, but Matt wrecked himself before he could pass me, so retained the position.

Got a good start in race 2, but nothing like the absurd one by Dan  :o  Going into T1, I was hit hard from behind. Fortunately my car stayed on course, but only because poor Clive stopped it, in turn spinning as a result. Seems the driver who hit me, was himself hit, so a bit of a chain reaction.  Once again chasing Dan, this time for the entire race, as the script sadly didn't include me passing him. A scare very late in the race, when Hristo's Jag suddenly reversed onto the track from a hideaway on the right. Barely managed to swerve around him, only sideswiping the rear of his car.  Didn't help with catching Dan, but drove like possesed for the last couple of laps, closing the gap a little.

Race 3 again a lonely affair.  Gained a couple of places from Geoffers & Ziu having incidents, in the same place no less.  Towards the end, I spotted an obviously recovering Dimitar up ahead. Gave it my all, but couldn't catch him.

Grats to Niko & Ziu on the wins, and to all the other podium finishers.

I'll change all future GC events to state a first race qualy start time of 20:20 bringing them into line with all the other UKGTL 2021 series.
