Fuel consumption: 2x
Pit stops: Required

Server: simracing.org.uk Wednesdays
Password: see above (#post_event_password)

Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules.
(3) The AI control should be turned off so that you have control of the car at all times, including pitting. Your player file should therefore read
Autopit="0"
Force Autopit Off="1" // Forces autopit always off
No AI Control="1" // AI never has control over car
If you still finding pitting problematic, experience tells us that its less to do with positioning and more to do with approach speed. A slow approach to pit crew chief has proved most reliable.

Special Notes: Vintage tyres should be chosen if available. Ignore the flag man, use Auto Countdown. Cuts turned off.

It should be noted that the final round of this short series takes place at Le Mans.

For this event, car selection will be based on your Championship standing.

Most of the DBR2 have .xcar- instead of .car-files.

Could be as confusing as at Longford.

And thanks Tony using GTL Car Tools. :) (Just assuming that based on .xcar files... I know that quite few other tools do the disabling cars in same way. :) )

I do have prototype of new feature making carpacks straight from the car tool. In which case you would get only the enabled cars included. But there's still few things to solve, like locating and including the sound files in case there is modded sounds. :)

Be careful for going even by a small margin on the grass guys. Even if you lose time, it's possible that the game will give you a cut warning. I won't mind if we remove teh cuts from this race, there's no place where you can cut and win time IMHO.

IMPORTANT

If a driver has to leave a race due to an accident, off track excursion etc etc, they can either watch the race from the pits or leave. Neither require a conversation using in race chat.

It is very distracting seeing a message when concentrating in a race.

We do allow some messaging e.g. Pit In, Sorry, Lol etc but lets not see any more than that, please.

This forum is the correct place to describe your race.

Thank you

WT

Congratulations on your perseverance, Tony. In offline parctice for this race, I flipped over the fence a couple of times. I searched and searched for a way back on the track, but to no avail. Congrats for finding a place and keeping going on and keepin' on.

I noticed after the race that I have two accounts here, namely, Robby82 and RobbyGTL. If one goes up here and clicks on my name and then goes to the Monday Monza results it is the other account, The upshot is Help!

With such large gaps with the majority of the drivers present, I didn't have much hope, except hoping for some abandonment or errors, which was done, among other things first by Tony who preferred to take a walk in the countryside  :D  and phspok a few hundreds of meters before the end of the race which misses a turn ... (thanks to you ;) )

Grats to the podium and survivors.

Things are gradually improving with me and my new wheel. Slowly ( very slowly some of you might say ) I am getting things sorted. I was perplexed by the appearance, or non appearance,  of the FF in various of the series that we run at UKGTL  I have been wading through the various settings within the .plr file and finding out what they do.

I have followed Tony's advice regarding separate installs for each series and somewhere along that process I must have copied a .plr file from a different source ( maybe even offered by one of the members?). Because I have discovered that in some series the FF is actually turned OFF, so no amount of adjustment within GTL/CONTROLS or with the wheel software was going to have any impact.
This was the case for last night's 50's race. A quick practice late afternoon indicated no FF, so during pre race practice I delved into the .plr and switched FF ON. Much better  ;)
My setup was based upon an older Aston Martin DB2  setup but it soon proved to be unsuitable for those fast sweeping corners at Spa. Several tweaks etc improved things but by the start of the race I still had a rear left tyre that insisted on melting with minimum provocation. This made accelerating hard out of corners a risky business and that was what caught me out exiting Malmedy which set up a tank slapper that fired  me up the outer grass bank.

Despite the early exit I was much happier with my pace ( and driving ) getting up to 4th place at one point. things are looking up at long last  ::)
I think this is the first time that I have left a race after a collision with a Steam Engine!!!  :o

That's because you created a second lobby account (remember?). At least the results and championship are working ok. I think you will need to live with it; I have not yet found a way to work around it.

EDIT: I think it's fixed now.

Tough race. I knew it was going to be hard but i was not prepared for the car's behavior after the middle of the race. I had large amount of understeer because the fronts were wearing a little bit faster and problems on acceleration because the rears were not at their best shape as well. I don't think i was going to win if it wasn't for Hristo's DNF.

Grats to Coyote and Fulvio on their podiums and all survivors. Amazing determination from Tony.

Apart from the first lap, it was a very lonely and uneventful race.

DD got a terrible start, falling behind.  Surprised to see Dan pass me on L1, proceeding in true alien speed, with which I couldn't keep up.  DD caught up, apparently having much more grip through the corners and was soon past & gone.   As race proceeded, I had big gaps in front & behind, so no hope of further progress, and 2nd was secure, if I could avoid falling off the edge of the world, like Dan & Hristo seemed to do.

Grats to DD on the win & Fulvio for podium.  Commiserations to all who fell by the wayside.

Result (https://www.avonrise.co.uk/srou/kurts/_2021//21072021_Spa1960s)

8)

Always liked the 60s versions of Spa, especially in these cars.
Unfortunately very often my first lap in practice is my fastest one.
Race sadly ended in no man's land.
