Title: UKGPL Season 38 (Spring 2021) Lols vs Ferrari Cup - Riverside 66 - Jan 15 Post by: Cookie on January 11, 2021, 06:05:58 PM +0000 Season 38 - SC67 - Lola vs Ferrari Cup – Round 1 - Riverside 66
WIP For round 1 of the Lola vs Ferrari Cup we go to the 1966 Riverside International Raceway California, USA. The road course opened on September 21st, 1957, and operated until 1988. The dragstrip operated from 1959 through 1970, and from 1983 through 1986. All time statistics tracks fatal casualties all over the world shows Riverside road course on the podium, just after Nürburgring and Brands Hatch. Now the track is gone for good Please check the Season 38 details (https://www.simracing.org.uk/smf/index.php?action=LM2R&group=1262&theme=6) regarding rules and the Lola vs Ferrari Cup pages (https://www.simracing.org.uk/smf/index.php?action=LM2R&group=1312&theme=6) in particular. In order to add an element of realism, and to hopefully reduce the possibility of rear-end incidents, the brake light patch will be used (http://srmz.net/index.php?showtopic=13319&#entry145626)
Handicapping "Works" drivers will carry extra weight in form of 10 gallons of race fuel (to remain in the tank after the race). No limit in quali! Drivers are expected to behave in a fair and gentlemanly fashion and declare how much fuel they have left after the race. In order to ensure there will be 10 gallons of fuel left after the race, the minimum race fuel load for Works is expected to be:
Two resets will be allowed (there is no need to carry out a Stop and Go in the pit lane if you make a Shift-R). Drivers are reminded that Lap 1 incidents carry an extra 1 place penalty. Only reported incidents will be moderated. Please restrict chat to emergency messages only including at the end of the race until ALL drivers still racing have crossed the line. WIP

Yes you are right to ask - BUT - imo it's too late to switch ::) The SC version is not in our database yet - is shorter - so would kill all previous track records! We race as announced riside66 Title: Re: UKGPL Season 38 (Spring 2021) Lols vs Ferrari Cup - Riverside 66 - Jan 15 Post by: Markus Friedrich on January 13, 2021, 02:01:39 PM +0000 In the rules it is stated that "Works drivers will need to fuel the car to ensure there is always an additional 10 gallons (~40 litres) in the tank at all the times." Am I right to assume that works drivers have to qualify with an additional 10 gallons as well?

You can qualifiy as light as you want I will clarify in race post. To make it easy: at race start all Works driver have to fill 110 liter = 29 Gal After the race we check if my calculation was ok ;) Worked well in last season ;D Title: Re: UKGPL Season 38 (Spring 2021) Lols vs Ferrari Cup - Riverside 66 - Jan 15 Post by: Rainier on January 13, 2021, 02:34:47 PM +0000 12 works and only 5 privat !

Please tell me your results how much liter/Galons does your car take for one lap ??? Title: Re: UKGPL Season 38 (Spring 2021) Lols vs Ferrari Cup - Riverside 66 - Jan 15 Post by: Rainier on January 14, 2021, 11:38:57 AM +0000 I made tests to find out the fuel consumption of both cars, Please tell me your results how much liter/Galons does your car take for one lap ??? With the Lola, for me it was 2,5 liters/lap. Best lap a slow 1.48.03 ...so you can add 10% more liters. Title: Re: UKGPL Season 38 (Spring 2021) Lols vs Ferrari Cup - Riverside 66 - Jan 15 Post by: Cookie on January 14, 2021, 01:41:45 PM +0000 yep, 2.5 liter was same here - a little faster ...
So my provisional calculation seems ok for now. I discovered that I was the recipient of a major Win10 update last night!! and experience has taught me that "modern hi-tech Windows 10 software" does not exactly enhance the GPL experience. Basically, I jump in the car and all is fine, but as soon as I move off all of the bodywork vanishes and I am left with a steering wheel and a rev counter needle...that's it. But weirdly, the bodywork reappears from time to time, but only for a second, then it vanishes again. The flashing is like a missing 60fps patch, but the patch is definitely selected in GEM.????? Suggestions please.......I hope it is not the Brakelight patch!! Do you have an Nvidia card? I had to roll back on the drivers a while ago, they stopped working. What version are you using?
I'm using Driver Version: 451.48 The latest version is 461.09 I won't download that unless I have to. I always keep a copy of my drivers (i.e. the downloaded .exe file) in case I need to go back. Are you sure you're not in the 1955 mod? 8) 8)

Did you use the SCX Mod Brake Lights Installer.exe or did you copy the folders? Have you read the SCX Mod Brake Lights Installer Notes - there is the possibility to uninstall! Can you see the file endings in your explorer? my complete carSC folder ! Rename yours and put this into your gpl/cars https://www.sendspace.com/file/g2j9ec Title: Re: UKGPL Season 38 (Spring 2021) Lols vs Ferrari Cup - Riverside 66 - Jan 15 Post by: EvilClive on January 15, 2021, 10:58:25 AM +0000 Thanks for the feedback guys
@Phil. I don't think it is the graphics driver as I tried the 55 Mod and that works fine. I have quite a decent graphics card etc and have not had problems like this before. @Axel. I could not get the "Installer" to work, so I very carefully copied the folders as per the notes. All the cars work in the same fashion. Sitting in the pitlane everything is 100%, but as soon as I move forward all cockpit and bodywork vanishes except for the steering wheel and the needle ( no dial visible ) of the rev counter. Every~ 5 secs I get a quick flash of full cockpit and bodywork, then it is gone again. F10 view works OK, it is only the "in-car" view that is acting strangely? I have just realised that I did not get as far as actually checking that the brake lights work!!! I will download your folder Axel and try that, thanks. But before I install I will check my current folder and maybe try uninstalling the new files from just one car to see if anything changes? Title: Re: UKGPL Season 38 (Spring 2021) Lols vs Ferrari Cup - Riverside 66 - Jan 15 Post by: Cookie on January 15, 2021, 11:52:59 AM +0000 Clive nothing changed if you rename your folder and try mine! easy reversible!
so this is the easier and shorter instead to delete something manually and not know what has caused the fault. Title: Re: UKGPL Season 38 (Spring 2021) Lols vs Ferrari Cup - Riverside 66 - Jan 15 Post by: EvilClive on January 15, 2021, 01:07:22 PM +0000 Swapped Axel's folder for mine and all works OK, thankyou Axel. ......also checked and the brake lights work ;).
So, it has to be something different in my SC Cars. I will compare contents later and try to find the key difference. ??? Title: Re: UKGPL Season 38 (Spring 2021) Lols vs Ferrari Cup - Riverside 66 - Jan 15 Post by: Pete Bennett on January 15, 2021, 10:29:42 PM +0000 I was happy just to finish my first SC race. How can you guys be SO quick along that back straight? It was as though you had rocket-fuel in your tanks. Never mind, I guess I need to work on set-ups and how to drive these cars. I concentrate on keeping them smooth and straight but I notice that Tris really throws his car about into a corner.
Well done, folks. See you at the back of the grid next time. Pete Title: Re: UKGPL Season 38 (Spring 2021) Lols vs Ferrari Cup - Riverside 66 - Jan 15 Post by: Cookie on January 16, 2021, 08:01:37 AM +0000 WD Pete,
The GT's brought me to GPL online - 10 years ago when Funliga did a GT season. my avatar shows the car why I choose GPL... Last season we had the junior GT class - this season we use the adult Sport Cars - next season maybe GT40 Texas Style ::) Great fights with Clive and his Fezza - thanks, I had that big smile in my face after the race.. Title: Re: UKGPL Season 38 (Spring 2021) Lols vs Ferrari Cup - Riverside 66 - Jan 15 Post by: Markus Friedrich on January 16, 2021, 08:34:57 AM +0000 This was my first race with the GT cars. I just tried the mod for the first time this week and it was very difficult for me to get heat in the tires. During a run I reached optimal tire pressures but only up to 105 degrees Celsus. Usually my temps were even a bit lower. I did not find out how to change the setup to improve this.
The race was fun until I made some mistakes. Unfortunately this already happened early on in the race. The first laps I fought with Farina, whom I was following closely, and Clive, who was following me like a shadow. After a few laps I got a good draft down the back-straight and I tried to take advantage by leaving the draft as late as possible. However, I did a small mistake and touched Farina when leaving the draft. Sorry for that. For luck nobody of us spun. I stopped the overtaking maneuver because I had the feeling that it would have been unfair otherwise. Next lap I spun on my own at turn 8. Had some battle with Phil and Rainer or policardi and was able to get back to 7th place. I was closing in on Farina a bit until I did more small mistakes. Thanks for the racing. Hope I find time for some more races with the GT cars this season. The race calender is great! And I hope I find out soon how to manage the tires.
