Back to RRE this Sunday, I am toying with the idea of switching circuits for this round, I will confirm by the end of play today

I have changed the track to Anderstorp for this round! The Cupra E's are more suited to this track than the Norisring

Despite many successful pit stops in practice, I screwed up two attempts in race one and ran out of fuel!  ??? :o

Well done Mark on winning race 2 and well done to Mark and Geoff with the podiums.

I ran both races too conservatively and fell too far behind the leaders. I got a gift in race 1 due to mistakes but even without a trip across the gravel at T1 in race 2 I wouldn't have caught Mark and Geoff.

Why were you doing pitstops in a sprint race Bill? Damage?

I could match the laptimes of phspok but too many mistakes (leading to spins) meant i drifted back and lost touch. I had the TC turned down to try to get a bit more turn coming out of the corners but i ended up spinning a few times. I also found switching between engine maps had a big effect on braking distances at this track

Low on fuel - would not of run for 20 minutes race duration!

What engine map are you using Bill? You should be able to do race distance on map 3 with regen set at 15%.

Well two races I could possibly have won but made a silly mistake in both of them. First race I had a 2-3s lead over Glenn but got on the power too hard exiting T5 & understeered on to the grass, nearly spun but just saved it but not before Glenn had gone past.

Second race had a comfortable lead over Mark after he had made a mistake, but with one lap to go I braked too late & hard for the final turn & spun out. Again could not rejoin before Mark went past so finished 2nd once more.

Congrats to Glenn & Mark on the wins.

How are you using the maps Geoff/mark/Glen?

I find that map 2 is safe for the 20mins, with an occasional map 5 on straights
map 3 is safe for the 15 min race, again with some occasional boost

Yet i am wayyyy further back than I might be in a petrol powered race.
One thing I don't like, is that the regen goes up and down with the engine map
So, though I can drive safely with some pace at map 2 or 3, if i put it to map 4 or 5
the back end spins on any lift into a corner. I have to run brake bias far forward to avoid it
and then at low maps any braking understeers me off the track.

Thanks for that information, I tried 1,3 and 5 each for 20 minutes and went for 5 with refuelling stop which I screwed up twice! 3 appeared to be marginal - hence my choice.  ;D

I used map 3 for the 20min race & map 4 for the 15min race. At Anderstorp I could use those maps all race & reach the finish, in fact I was able to use one map higher for a lap or so in both races. It was much the same at Hockenheim, but at Brands I had to turn the map down near the end of the 20min race to be able to get to the end.

I know what you mean about using the higher maps Matt, I found it a problem at Hockenheim but not so much at Anderstorp. You do need to adjust your braking points obviously as you are carrying more speed on the straights.

By the way they changed a few suspension settings on the car in the recent update (below), I think it made the car a bit less understeery.

CUPRA e-racer - Rebalanced high speed damping, increased mechanical trail and reduced rear bump steer.

I made a mistake with the maps last night Martin. In race 1 I ran map 3 on the straight and map 2 everywhere else. Realised at the halfway point that I had battery to burn and started running map 4 on the straight and 2 everywhere else, still had some left so I ran the last two laps on map 5.

I'm not sure if map 4/5 on the straight and 2 everywhere else or map 3 everywhere would have been the best option but either way I didn't use the range effectively by saving so much to the end. The time gained running map 5 doesn't outweigh the loss in range and ability to run a higher map more consistently.

Spins on the brakes and corner entry seems to be a common complaint - I don't tend to have this issue but I do drive these very differently from how I like to drive. In a WTCR car I like the rear very lively so I can move the car about on the brakes, in these I find straight line braking, almost parking the car on the apex to turn and then being patient not getting on the throttle until I won't have to lift off even with the power understeer as the best way to go as the weight and drive in these cars is low down in the rear.

Made a mistake and got caught out behind Geoff trying to carry more speed into turn 2 than him, seems i was a bit quicker through those two RH turns than most. Couldnt catch Glenn and Geoff up even whe the gap closed suddenly. Made sure i was more careful in race 2 and followed Geoff while wondering why Glenn seems to be slower in race 2! Was gifted the win as Geoff fell off.

Regarding the maps I do find its difficult to drive in the higher power maps, qually is a nightmare! Mainly because of the increased regen braking screwing up my braking, I tend to go with max power but drop the regen a click.

I dont change maps while i'm driving; Map 3 is tight but you need to do more lift and coasting to offset it. For race 2 i switched to map 4 but crossed the line with 3% left.

These are very rear weight biased, i struggle with grip on the front and frequently lock the fronts, in fact i think in second race i fell off as i just locked up and went straight on in the first of the hairpins. IT also makes it understeer on exit as well so I was finding it better to try and not get on the power early.
