Hi there,
I see the server is still showing Barcelona GP. Do you have a time estimate for changing the track to Thruxton? Thanks.

I'll try your setup out here Jos with my barcelona setup for comparison.

Hi all, hoping to join the series for tonights races at Thruxton.

This will be my first race at SRou, although I do race on WSS (whenever they have a single seater series...)

I've been on the practice server a couple of times, first time I've driven at Thruxton. I'm looking forward to actually getting through the first corner without facing backwards!

Both races just touched the pit wall resulting in gearbox failure, a bug with track or with car?

I removed a bit of rear wing from my Barcelona setup as Thruxton seemed more forgiving with the Dallara and managed a good qualy and pole for the first race (1:05.130)  8).

I leave the first part of both races here (the second starting at 5:50) https://youtu.be/_psmGy_txXE (https://youtu.be/_psmGy_txXE)

I knew I had to deliver a real quick start to shake off you lot from my tail, as qualy times were in the mid 05's for many drivers... Initial turns went as planned and I managed to take a 1.7 secs advantage from Geoff that was keeping the pace but not quite catching up on my draft... After a mistake from Geoff on the final chicane, the race was about managing the distance with Kimi that did a fantastic fastest lap at 1:05.225  :o, keeping me honest for the rest of the race.

Race 2 with a reverse grid was looking far more interesting as the pace was quite similar. Geoff, in front, had a slow start and the concentration of cars on the right side of the track created a bit of mayhem. I managed to go ahead almost unscattered and without losing much time from the lead pack. Luck came back when a driver rejoining the track was squeezing Geoff and me which, considering where we were at the time, gave me the advantage and P4 before the main straight. The final chicane and more luck on my side cleared the field in front (other than Bob) and I had just him to overtake to lead the race. It took me a couple of laps and a good slipstream...  ;D

Whilst pace was much better overall in Thurxton, compared to Barcelona, I think I won both races on consistency (due to bad luck for some of you with the race incidents).
I'm sure things will continue to improve in Barbagallo. See you there.

Mixed emotions for me here.

I try everything to make the car faster but whatever i try the car always started to have a lot of oversteer.

Race 1 started bad, i lost focus and went on to the grass. But i got lucky as there was a big crash in turn 3, so i was now in P4.

Unfortunately Geoffers and Kimi made mistakes until the end of the race and that gave me the second place on Race 1 with grate consistency.

Race 2 started even worse. I hit someone that span on the start and lost a lot of time there. Unfortunately i was a little bit tired for some reason and the mistakes kept coming. Eventually i hit a wall and damage the engine and it was Game Over.

Grats to Jos and the podium drivers.

I scanned through the video (very nice BTW, its always interesting to see others view of races :-)),  and what I immediately notice is your tyre pressures are WAY too high...   Ideal pressures would be a bright green colour (matching the tread colour)  once the tyre is fully hot and up to temp after 2-3 laps.  You were way past that into the red  :o

Thanks Bob and Max. I'll think about the tires. I try everything else but forgot about the tires. The other thing i think i was lacking was speed on the straights as Kimi was so much faster there. At least I'll have a lot to think about for the next races. :)

Congrats on your podium in the first race Dimitar and great video.

I think what you are looking for in order to watch other drivers is the following combination of keys:

CTRL + NUM1 will change from you as a driver to the car behind you.
CTRL + NUM3 will change to the car in front of you
CTRL + NUM2 will change the view back to you.
You can use these commands when you are 'driving' in your car... Obviously stationary somewhere (otherwise you will crash).
They are very handy for replays. I use them for the views of my car from the car in front...

Then F1 is for cockpit-related view, F3 for TV cameras, etc...

If you are at the pits without hitting the driving mode to get in your car (top left wheel on the menu) and you want to get rid of the clutter in the screen, you can also hit the bottom left icon (I think it is the one where there is the icon with the head of the driver) once or twice and that should clear the screen.

Hope this helps.

All the best,
Jos

BTW guys i want to ask you something. Do you see how on the race session the background objects of the circuit are lagging just a little bit? I want to get rid of that. My PC is OK and i don't think is because of that. I have 16GB of RAM, iCore5 processor and GTX 1060 6GB.

Here are my video settings:
https://ibb.co/HhxpjPP
https://ibb.co/wyNLkh3
https://ibb.co/WFvLnD6
https://ibb.co/t4Y5sxn

It's only lagging when there are more cars on the server, it's fine when i drive alone. And it's not because if the frames - i have around 100 all the time.

I try switching from 4k skins of the mod to the 2k ones, no change in lag nor frames.

Interesting, I used your Barcelona setup Jos but felt with it full throttle for most of the lap that it was carrying too much wing and took a lot of it off!

From having done a lot of laps with everything optimal to then come to the start and have to drive it had from cold with a completely different handling car to hot was just ridiculous, so ending up spinning it in the complex in the first lap was the icing on the cake, and damaging both wings. Gave up in disgust.

Good fun, but once again too many mistakes, must learn to drive at a safe speed & not as fast as possible. ::)

First race, took it easy for the first half lap as the car was tricky on cold tyres, by then Jos was already nearly 2s ahead. Kept pace with him for a couple of laps before spinning at the chicane. Rest of the race consisted of some nice clean laps punctuated with several more spins. Lucky at the end to finish 5th.

Race 2 didn't start well, forgot to put the car in gear  :D, but may have been a blessing though as I avoided the start line shenanigans. Had another early spin, this time at Campbell dropping to nearly last, but pretty much managed the rest of the without any serious errors, just one or two small ones. Got up to 3rd with a few laps left & when Kimi spun on the final lap I was in 2nd, but only briefly as he drafted past up to the chicane & relegated me to 3rd again at the finish.

Congrats to Jos for two more well driven wins & to Kimi & DD on their podiums.
