The car and track combo is nice, so i hope that we will have a big grid tonight. The length of the circuit is around 50 seconds, so very easy to learn it.

I'm giving up with these, great for hot lapping once up to temperature, but dangerous on the first lap.

Much fun and intense racing yesterday at Barbagallo.
I managed, perhaps with a bit of slipstream, to beat Stefan's SB with a 49.357 that felt great for pole.

Race 1 https://youtu.be/S6A4Au-f2zA (https://youtu.be/S6A4Au-f2zA) started with Geoff and Dimitar's challenges, first on the start/finish straight that I managed to contain as cold tyres were a bit challenging on T1, but the second (this time successful) attempt by Dimitar was on the Tait straight when I played naively and left him to take the inside.
I had gone high on wings to improve stability on the turns and this wasn't giving me much advantage on the straight. I was keeping quite close to Dimitar but it was difficult to create enough gap at the obvious place (again end of the Tait straight) to secure the pass as I didn't want to force too much and risk an accident... The alternative was to wait for a slight error from him and be ready to capitalise. My additional wings helped to regain P1 on the first section of the track, from the Cat corner to the Shell turn, after a parallel run with Dimitar. Great fight. At that point, Geoff joined the party and they both got embroiled in battles that allowed me to secure the win for the race.

Race 2 https://youtu.be/N248BYy5tMk (https://youtu.be/N248BYy5tMk), starting on P8, was looking far more complex. We had a very close pace and overtaking had proven very challenging in the first race... On top of that, the battles in front unravelled badly and I got involved in an accident that relegated me to the back of the grid and with some time lost on the grass.
With a bit of body damage but not enough to pit, I got back on track and charging. I caught up with Geoff and Kimi(?) a few laps later at the end of the Tait straight. Geoff's car oversteered out of control and I went ahead chasing the front pack. When I cut the gap with Dimitar on P3, I was bracing for another frantic battle as in R1 but was surprised with a relatively easy pass (possibly after Dimitar run wide on the initial turns losing the flow?). Jari and Stefan were fighting in front for P1. I joined the party just when Stefan overtook Jari and could follow through for P2 again at the end of the Tait straight. Stefan pace was fast and, although I had a few laps and was putting a lot of pressure on him, he wasn't breaking... I made a mistake on the Cat corner with four laps to go and he gained .8 of a second... Enough to keep me out of his way. I kept pushing, tyres were starting to wear (yellow on my app) and we got to the final lap with the same gap... Stefan was very cautious on the first turns and I managed to reduce the gap almost closing it by the Shell turn. That gave me another chance before the end of the race and luck was on my side... Stefan had a wobble at the Bassin and I managed to get my car just in front for the win... That must have been very frustrating for Stefan who, otherwise, run a winner race.
Congrats to the podium and see you at Mugello!

I think Barbagallo lived up to my usual pathetic F3 performances although race 1 wasn't too bad for the most part.

Just pipped Dimitar for 2nd on the grid & made a decent start to race 1 but ran a bit wide at T1 & dropped back to 3rd. Jos & Dimitar disputed the lead on the first lap & over the next couple of laps I closed the small gap to them. Made a mistake which lost me 3-4s early on & then spent many laps clawing the time back, just as I caught the lead duo Jos got the lead & started to pull away leaving me to dice with DD for 2nd. Got my nose in front once going into the final turn but could not make it stick on the outside line. A couple of laps later I again got my nose ahead, this time earlier on the downhill straight before disaster happened. My car suddenly turned sharp right, not sure exactly how but DD & I touched & it sent my car right, across the grass & the S/F straight into the barriers. Tried to reverse out but the car only moved a short distance before becoming stuck, would not move backwards or forwards, guess it got beached so race over.

Race 2 was worse although I did make the finish this time. Got caught up in the melee on the first lap but wasn't delayed too badly, but after that it was a case of do a few laps, spin, few more laps, spin etc. So all in all not a very successful evenings racing.

Congrats to Jos on two more excellent wins & to the other podium finishers.

Apologies to Geoff for what happen on Race 1. I watch the replay of my video and i saw that my front left is making a contact with his rear right because i didn't got him enough space.

BTW did someone knows how to save replays with the Content Manager? I have some auto saves but they are just few random minutes and sometimes not from the race.

As Jos said this races were exiting. At the start of Race 1 i was able to overtake Geoff who went wide and attack Jos for P1 at the end of the lap. I took P1 because my tires were working better at that point but unfortunately at the end of both races i was going to struggle with them.

It was clear that Jos is faster and with more power on the straights. I was going with a lot of wings for this events and had no chance to attack even if i got some slip stream here.

After our great fight Jos was now able to take P1 and slowly started to pull away from me and Geoff.

It was me and Geoffers now for P2. He was faster on the straights but i had the inside line every time and i was able to protect my position. And after that just few laps before the end we collided and Geoff had to retire.  :-\

Race 2 started great for me even though someone hit me slightly. There was a big crash ahead and i was now in P3. Unfortunately i went to the grass and lost one position. After that Matt made a mistake and i was now in P3 but without a chance for something more because of the wings. I totally forgot to lower them.

Jos was now behind and he overtake me soon so it was P4 until the end. But once again we had great battles and i had a first roll seat watching the first 3 battling for the win.

Congrats to Jos on the wins and to the drivers on the podiums :)

Just one of those racing incidents DD. Like you I don't have any replay to see what happened & didn't know if I had drifted towards you as I went past or you had moved towards me.

Great vid Dimitar. We had an intense first race with some very close battles. We touched a few times but very respectfully... Great racing with you.

All the best,
Jos

Thanks Jos, same here. Always nice to fight with you and Geoff.

There was a situation where i close the door though and you had to go on the kerb on the last corner where i should have left more space. Everything else was OK i think. :)

BTW it's a lot easier to make a contact with other driver in Assetto Corsa than games like rF1, GT Legends and GTR2 so it's still tricky for me as i am new to this game. But we had so much fun yesterday.  8)

I always enjoy this track. Although overtaking is rather difficult here. Good to see the pack was close on pace and it showed during the races as there where cars close to eachother all race.

I had another blue screen after qually and quickly restarted the pc so I could start from pit lane, only to discover my ff was fubared. So R1 was just a long warmup.
This failure only happens with AC after a 15 or 20 minutes mostly. I have no clue wat the problem is.
After the reboot it worked without problems

Well not exactly. :) I found myself on pole for race 2 which was nice of course. I only had sound on one ear and was fiddling with the headphone during the earlie laps. Couldn't get it to work so diceded to keep on racing with mono sound. Not that easy as you miss out on sound que's when applying throttle.
Dispite this minor hickup I had a good fight with Jari and Jos for much of the race and with 5 minutes to go I thought I might just bag this one. Did some carefull last laps just to have an oversteer moment exiting T6 on the last lap and Jos got by to take the win with a few tenths. Too bad, but thats racing too.

See you all next outing in Tuscany.
