For the 4th round we are going to Italy … andiamo in Italia a Monza ! We will use the "new" Monza 1967 track made by Ginetto INFO: This track replaces the original version using a more accurate layout and a better set of textures and objects.
Please restrict chat to emergency messages only including at the end of the race until ALL drivers still racing have crossed the line. Driver lists and division specific rules can be found on the Season 38 pages for details (https://www.simracing.org.uk/smf/index.php?action=LM2R&group=1262&theme=6) regarding the rules and the 1967 F1 Works pages (https://www.simracing.org.uk/smf/index.php?action=LM2R&group=1282&theme=6) in particular. Handicapping This serie is a joint championship with GPL Brazil so, please, read carefully these new and specific rules : Drivers will have a FREE CHOICE of chassis however, a bonus of 50 championship points will awarded to each driver that uses all 7 chassis. To qualify for bonus points, each chassis should be used at least once and no chassis can be used more than twice." A bonus point will be awarded for pole position. A bonus point will be awarded for the fastest lap. Any driver who uses the same chassis more than twice will not be awarded any bonus points. A driver must cross the start line in order to register the use of a chassis, participation in qualifying is not sufficient. It is not necessary to use 7 different chassis for the first 7 races. However at the end of the season, all 7 chassis must have been used to qualify for the bonus points. Points will be allocated from 1st to 12th as follows: 20, 15, 12, 10, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1. Drivers must complete 75% race distance to score. All rounds count towards the driver's championship. For each race, only the top two drivers from each team count towards team championship. All rounds count towards team championship. Drivers are reminded that Lap 1 incidents do carry an extra 1 place penalty. Only reported incidents will be moderated. Tried to come back, but it was obvious that something was wrong with the car on the pit straight. Engine smoke one corner later. Unbelievable. If I had been fast enough to catch you I would have been nervous about getting close. I hope the warp wasn't the reason for the accident...
I got up to 3rd when Raoni and the other guy crashed, with Doni keeping things interesting behind me. I was actually braking early for corners to ensure I didn't crash, so I don't understand what happened entering Lesmo 1, car just didn't stop and ripped off a wheel on the barriers... The marshall was having a beer and didn't show yellow... ::) Luckily I had the BRM and didn't waste a fast car. Not the best race for many of us.

If I had been fast enough to catch you I would have been nervous about getting close. I hope the warp wasn't the reason for the accident... I noticed I had a bit of unstable connection especially during qualy. As the race started to progress, the L and Q bars were very low and stable, so I believe warping wasn't the cause of the accident.I got up to 3rd when Raoni and the other guy crashed, with Doni keeping things interesting behind me. But anyway, apart from the season debut at Watkins Glen, I seem to have a big load of unluck running with me in this championship. I got 9th, but was only 0.08 away from the 6th.
At the start, the green flag drops, I stomp on the throttle and the next thing I think is why me? as an Eagle spins right into me before I think I even reached 2nd gear. Impact was so heavy that I though the race would be over, but I still had all my wheels, so I reversed back onto the track and set off, way last. In the first part of the race I only passed Johny's BRM. Everyone else was falling off. At one point I caught up to three cars, and just before there could be any fighting for position there was something, I'm not sure what, but all three wen into a spin. I managed to get through without collecting anyone, and by this time I think I was 8th, with Bastian around 8.5 seconds ahead. It mostly stayed at that for a while, then Bastian probably made a mistake, and the distance between us halved to about 4 seconds, and I could now see him ahead. A large chunk of the race went by, Bastian was holding 3-4 seconds, pretty quiet, except that we moved to positions 5-6. Then maybe 10 laps from the end I go into Parabolica, and I didn't even see the flags, suddenly on the other side are two slow moving cars. I managed to snake between them somehow, but didn't get a good exit of course. And one of those cars, an Eagle started to accelerate with me, we were side by side over the start finish line, but Eagles top speed was just too much, by T1 he was inching ahead, I braked slightly early to make sure I don't crash. Eagle went a bit wide (so a good thing I didn't try too hard to outbrake him), but he held it together. It was Bastian, and for the rest of the race, we spent 1-2 seconds apart, only now in 4-5 positions. I could never get close, Eagle advantage on the straights was just too much, and I finished 5th, after what looked like the worst possible start to the race. Congrats to the podium finishers. It is for me, a racing incident, don't worry, the chase with you was good, you had a high pace. Anyway, let's wait and see if I dare to run the next one. When the flag dropped I nailed the gas and engaged 1st gear. My Eagle moved forward for about 10-20 mtrs ( it felt like a good start ) and I was contemplating moving to my right to try a pass on Alain, in the car ahead, as he was a little slower off the line. Then the car just snapped to the left and headed for the armco at Mach II. I thought that I had avoided collecting anyone else as my car actually vaulted the barrier and stranded me in no man's land with no way out...race over without even crossing the S/F line. Later, in Lap 22 im not sure if you saw me enrique, i spun again when you tried to recover. I was not sure if Syd was just waiting to attack, but he really could not keep the speed on the straight, even in the tow? |
