Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules.
(3) The AI control should be turned off so that you have control of the car at all times, including pitting. Your player file should therefore read
Autopit="0"
Force Autopit Off="1" // Forces autopit always off
No AI Control="1" // AI never has control over car
If you still finding pitting problematic, experience tells us that its less to do with positioning and more to do with approach speed. A slow approach to pit crew chief has proved most reliable.

Special Notes: None

Sorry guys, I am going to give this a miss. I think it is well known that I don't like this version of Silverstone & I have been tempted by RaceRoom's 2hr Enduro event in their wonderful VW Scirocco on the same evening at Brands. Have fun.

OT - but today is a really sad day as the "Queen of the Nordschleife" and two times winner of the "24 Hours Nürburgring", Sabine Schmitz - also well known in the UK - passed
away at the age of 51:

https://www.independent.co.uk/sport/motor-racing/sabine-schmitz-death-age-cause-top-gear-b1818307.html (https://www.independent.co.uk/sport/motor-racing/sabine-schmitz-death-age-cause-top-gear-b1818307.html)

Watched her racing the Frikadelli Porsche countless times on the Nordschleife.

Totally shocked.

RIP

 :( :-[

I think I'm right in saying that she came to UK attention on the Top Gear motoring program when she did the Nords in a stripped out Ford Transit van

She seemed like quite a feisty lady who didn't take and carp from anyone.

RIP Sabine

Far less bad than expected, the more as I really like the track - unexpected new pb in quali and another one in race and most of my laptimes in between.

Got irritated by my XD as I misinterpreted my fuel consumption which in fact showed the number of laps I still could have driven  ::)
So I slowed down a little bit for some laps to save fuel what would not have been necessary and Tony came up big behind me.

But the bigger problem was/is that after one year in home office on an improvised workplace I'm affected by increasing muscular tension
which often lead to worsening headaches during racing.

So - after Tony passed, I made my first heavy mistakes and due to headaches couldn't concentrate any longer.  :P

Fun as long as it lasted.

This was another Me vs Daz episode.

I was a little bit slower than him on the qualy as i drove with race setup because the car was very bad with less fuel, i had a lot of oversteer.

So at the start i was able to overtake him and took the lead. And i drove with 70 liters, more than needed, but the car was flying.

Daz made a mistake and went down to P5, 10 seconds behind me. Sooner he started to drive amazing and was gaining on me in every lap.

At the end he was able to catch me and we started a fight for the victory just few laps before the end. I try everything to protect my lead and i knew i need to protect the inside but at the end he was just faster and on penultimate lap he took the victory and i never saw him again :D

Amazing performance from Daz and great recovery.

Grats to him for the victory and to Micha for his podium. It was a great race.

Incredibly hard and ultimately disappointing race.

First 4 cars were all aligned on the grid, so no particular benefit for the pole sitter.  Got a good start, grabbing the lead, but Dimitar made it past later on L1.  Dan was a pest for a couple of laps, but then let Micha through.  By driving to my absolute max lap after lap, I could just about maintain a gap of 2 secs.  Wondered what had happened to Daz, as he disappeared after the start. Doubted we had seen the last of him, and sure enough, a black shape appeared behind Micha's car in my mirror.  I hoped the two would slow each other down, but if anything, being chased by Daz seemed to make Micha go faster.

Daz got past Micha, caught me and moved on.  I couldn't shake Micha no matter how hard I tried, and once he got close enough for slipstream it was basically game over. We swapped places a few times, but of course he eventually got in front to stay there.  I spun the car on one of the final laps, putting a wheel outside the track, which was the final nail in the coffin for anyl podium aspirations.

Grats to Daz for the win and Dimitar + Micha for their podiums.

Dimitar: Notice in your video that your track textures gets very blurry just in front of the car.  If you go into your video card driver settings and set Anisotropic Filtering to 16x, and set it to overrule the game settings, they will be sharp all the way to the horizon.  Unless you're on a very ancient video card, it should not have much of a performance impact.

Thanks Erling. But i can't find where to add the card to overrule the game settings.

Have you checked to see if the setting you've made has made a difference ?

Not sure how it's done with Nvidia, so went searching. Found some Reddit posts claiming that if you set it in the control panel - like you've done, it will automatically override the game, so worth checking if you haven't already.

Hmm, do you mean the asphalt? If it is this, the problem is from YouTube. They process the videos of the smaller accounts with different video codec so every video lower than 1440p has that. You can see how better is in 1440p in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vuceRtfSZYs

Yes, I think you're right - that looks a lot better.  Funny coincidence; the Silverstone video looks in some places at least, just like the blurring you got in the old days, when Anisotropic Filtering was set low.

Nothing to fix then, so apologies for sending you on a wild goose chase  :whistling:  :)

Oh, no problem. You were great to try and help and i appreciate that. Let's hope my channel will become bigger soon so i can record at 1080p :D The video files after every race are around 40 GB with 1440p recording :D This is the reason i publish the videos on the next day after the race - it takes YT around 12 hours to proceed 1080p quality and around 2-3 days for the 1440p ones.

40 Gig...  :o   That's some process time from YT.  Do you have a fast upload connection - otherwise that must take a while too.

Yes, the upload is no more than 1-2 hours. The processing from YT is the problem.

That was really hard work on Wednesday, good job I do like an Escort.... :w00t: :tt1:

Took pole, but blew my best lap. Thought Dimitar might get close, he did but not quite enough.

However, I made a total pigs ear of the start, dropping to 5th  , which became 4th coming off Copse . I then had a run on Dan into Becketts, but he moved across just slightly in the braking area to defend, and I was determined to not hit him and ruin both of our races on lap 1, which ended up with me hitting the kerb on the inside and spinning the car immediately, no chance to save it. I did miss Dan though, so all was OK on that front  :thumbup1:.

On recovering to the track, I found myself in P9, 10 seconds off the lead. Honestly, I felt that was a tough ask, Dimitar makes few real errors, so I could count on him not gifting it. Plus, this track is not so easy to make big errors at, but little ones can be costly for laptime with lost momentum due to the high speed nature of the track. On the plus die, you can overtake..... :thumbup2:

Caught up with the guys in front one by one, and the width of the track meant I was able to find a way past. As always, Erling threw everything at it to hold me off, great effort , but the inside line was mine and off I went after Dimitar with 9 seconds or so between us with 22 laps or so left.

Kept chipping away, I was quicker than him nearly every lap, but not always by very much at all. The gap was gently decreasing, with 15 laps left it was 5.4 seconds. And eventually, with 4 laps left, it was less than a second, and I could start to try to move him offline for a pass. Not easy, he was fast, and defended well into some of the crucial corners for me, but after pestering  him for 3 laps I eventually had a run off Copse, and was alongside through Maggots into Becketts. Held him on the wide line there, making him turn tighter than me through Chapel and he was then slower than me onto Hangar Straight, which meant I could ease past before the braking zone for Stow. Then kept it tidy for the next half a lap, and saw in the mirrors Dimitar having the same spin as me, but on the final lap not the first. Unlucky DD, was a top drive, I pretty much expended all the speed I had to get that done, and by the end of the race was in need of a drink for many reasons... :sweatdrop:  :w00t: :jumpjoy: I'm not sure I've driven better than that for a long time.....
