Quite like Zolder, but boy do those heavy braking zones and off camber turns play havoc with these old motors under braking  :o Makes them quite a handful.  :helpsmilie:

Disappointingly I'm going to miss the chance to run the Healey at Zolder, one of my favorite combinations, thanks to a work Grotmas do that was supposed to be just a few selected bodies and has turned into a department full of scumbags. :-\ At least somebody else is driving...

Too full of a cold to enjoy racing atm unfortunately. Shame, as Healys at Zolder would be a lot of fun.  :(

I would if I could ,I'm nights tonight so the race won't finish in time for me to make it into work in time, rats. If however the races were 30 minutes it would be no problem...*cough*any chance Dave?*cough*  :P

For a low turnout it was a great race.
I drove the 300SL for the first time and was very satisfied with how precise it felt. Was able to get pole position and was quickly away from the start into quite a lead.
Mid race I was starting to make small mistakes as I lost concentration - driving all alone is not exactly exciting after a long workday. Anyhow I was very slow oonto the lapping of Bill and all of a sudden I was in a proper race with Baracus. We changed positions a few times and in the end I couldnt do anything anymore as my tires and brakes were completly dead. I even managed to do a classic mistake of mine in crashing into Baracus on the braking with the brakes that were dead. Of course I waited for him to rejoin and than followed him in second position.
The 300SL was good for a few laps, but not for a longer run. Even so it was very rewarding to drive it deffensivly and to retake position against an Alpine. Real shame that I didnt wait for the straight to take Baracus - I must get more patient in the future.

Replay (http://ukgtl.simracing.org.uk/Zolder_061207_2053.zip) and provisional results (https://www.simracing.org.uk/index.php?ind=lm2&event=238) available.

I thought something had gone funny with Marc, when at the end I had his name selected but it was like his car had frozen. From the exports it looks like the server lost him at the race start. Unless you have an export with all your lap times in Marc, not sure anything I can do cause the server export has no laps for you, just your name with DNF. Maybe Gizmo has ideas?

Had another entertaining race tonight. 10 people, but the first 2/3 of the race was really good fun with battles first with Baracus as he got up to speed in his Alpine, then Mooman and Dan. Real shame more don't turn up cause the standard of driving tonight was excellent again with really close fair battles and thanks to everyone for the fun.

Well done on that win Baracus. Unlikely from your grid spot and in the squished French lemon.

Yeah was a good race , had some good battles with nearly everyone. Found it very hard to put consistent laps in the Austin and ende dropping way back after the first 10 laps or so.
Cheers

Fun race... really glad to be back on GTL again :)

Got back from a late meeting for work almost resigned to not race thinking I wouldnt have time, but I logged on anyway and to my surprise I still had 9 minutes of Q left so I thought I would give it a go :-)

Quick dash to the loo and got my race boots on - then had to make a (very) quick setup as didnt have one for A110 @ Zolder. Pinched a Doni one which I used last time I drove an Alpine - and after 2 laps had to reduced the gear ratio one notch. That left 1 Q lap so I just went for a safe lap and got P7.

Interesting race, in terms of my frame of mind - I was just gonna drive safe and let the race come to me... which it certainly did :D

Had some really good battles with the swarm of AH's infront of me! It was interesting to see the strengths and weaknesses. I could go through the chicanes a lot quicker so had to adjust my braking to not take anyone out! But the Healys would pull away a lot quicker, so I had to make a move stick really throigh the last chicane and hairpin and try to break away. Last half of the race was chasng down Pero and having a jolly good old battle. I noticed he had gone off previously (9 sec gap came down to 6ish) and thought he might be in trouble so tried to stay in his mirrors. I got passed and he re-passed a couple of times with some great moves lasting about 3 or 4 bends - before our coming together. Just managed to get rolling again infront of PR and keep it online till the finish. Now im just gonna have my Pimms and polish my classic ;-) WHATHOO CHAPS

Despite my love of GTL i had a frustrating evening  :(

Got in late so had no practise at all in any car. Tried both but had never driven the healey in anger and so opted for the Alpine. I know the track well but just didnt get enough time in qually to get used to throwing an alpine around it for the first time.

Had a good race long battle with Tom Collins in his healey once i'd got past Bill. The problem was i was faster in nearly every corner than Tom and every time i climbed all over the back of him i had to take serious avoiding action to avoid contact and kept dropping back through either lost momentum or holding on for dear life under heavy braking. The Healey was way quicker on the straights too....not sure if my gearing was wrong?
Had one last attack with 2 laps to go but again it nearly ended in tears at the first chicane and i had to settle for a light brush of the barriers under avoidance braking.
The results showed me behind Bill even though i lapped him   ???  Can the mods amend the result as necessary, Ta.

Not unless you can provide all your laps from a client export. The server has no laps for you at all. You're listed as DNF in the export. It looks like it lost you before it even began.

Over to Dave then :-\

Have a check on your PC Mark to see if you have an export of the race yourself cause we could probably take your export and merge it with the server one to get your laps in if it's there. They are located somewhere underneath the UserData folder, in Log, or Server, Results or something like that.

From memory, think the race export is only saved on the client if you have set something in the .plr file. I'll check on my machine when I get home.

Client exports often don't have even the player's own laps.

If somebody can tell me how many laps MJ did and the time in the replay he crossed the line compared to another car I can poke the correct results into the database.

If by 'Tom Collins' you mean me - I never saw you at all during the whole race. In fact after lap 2 the only person I saw at all was Bill as I lapped him on the last lap.I was never in a battle with anybody, so if you could see me and I got in your way I apologise. There must have been something iffy about your connection - if the game saw as much of you as I did it's no surprise that you were not shown in the results.
In a way I'm quite pleased - I can never beat you when I can see you!! LOL

Wow, thats scary Tom !....you mean you never saw my car once !? :o  Haha, jeez i was fighting like a maniac to avoid contact when all over your ass in loads of corners for the entire race distance !  The only time you pulled a gap on me was with a few laps to go when i made one last attempt to get past you in the chicane and i carried so much more speed through than your car that i had to slam the anchors on and brushed the barrier :o....no wonder i thought 'he's driving really coolly tonight without a hint of a wobble under pressure' !  ;D
Never had this happen to me before in any GTL/GTR race, my connection is usually rock solid bullet proof  ???

Wonder if its because i dropped out and in of qually once? Though have done that before with no problem :-\

Thanks for updating the results Dave  8)

Wow, thats scary Tom !....you mean you never saw my car once !?

I've never seen it happen quite like that before - in the server replay you never lead your grid slot, you just sit there for the entire race. I've seen cars stranded after a big lag but eventually the server always either picks them up again or disco's them.

Henceforth I shall mainly be driving blindfolded - that way I shall be perceived to be driving coolly under pressure. LOL
