Without the fix, if you cross the start line (where the green lights on the gantry are) on the extreme right of the pit lane during a race you'll see it doesn't tick over to a new lap. With the fix it will.

Not sure exactly what the HAT file stores but the installation instructions say delete it to be on the safe side; I did and it worked so I'm sticking with that advice. ;)

Update: the fix is definitely needed but if you don't install it you will still be able to race. However, you risk having one or more laps not counted if you have to pit during the race, and I may elect not to correct the results if I see evidence that you did not install the fix.

I´m having problems installing this laps fix.
Already deleted old HAT files, but when i extract the Barcelona folder to the Barcelona folder
already installed, it creates a sub-folder named GAMEDATA, wich contains another folder
with Barcelona and so on. :o
So, im in trouble :-\
I know that his should be easy for you, but i am a really noob with  this PC things  :-[
Dont know how i managed do so much things untill now ;D
Can somebody help me, please?
Thanks :)

Extract the Gamedata folder of the zip, into the main GTR2 dir.

Extract the Gamedata folder of the zip, into the main GTR2 dir.

Yep, or simply go into the new GameData which is inside the Barcelona folder, navigate down until you find the xfinish.gmt file, and move it back up into the original Barcelona folder (and similarly for the Zhuhai one).

Extract the Gamedata folder of the zip, into the main GTR2 dir.
This way, it gives me the same sub-folders, as i explained above :(

This way, after i check the USERDATA\LOG\HAT folder, isnt there any new HAT file :(

BTW how many HAT files are in USERDATA\LOG\HAT folder for each track?
Now that i put the original files again in their places, i see 2 barc. hat files and 1 zuhai hat file.
Did i screw the all game? Do i get my 50 kg hammer? Do i kill myself?  :-\
Thanks for your time

The game regenerates the file after you drive the track. The HAT file isn't supplied in the patch, GTR2 will recreate it the first time you drive the track.

There's one HAT file for each variation of each track that you've driven. Barcelona has two layouts (2003 and North) which is why it has two HAT files. Zhuhai only has one.

New track for us all in GTR2 so hard to get any real ideas about times just yet.
I'm hoping  36's and 37's are ok for us Academy boys?
My best so far is a 37.4.

1:36.2 is my best in the -50kg 350Z, but that was in "skip outlap" timetrial mode.

As current leader of the standings I really should keep what I have firmly locked away in my trousers  ;D

However did some preperation on the server last night and managed a mid 1:35 in qually trim. In race trim I was able to run for 30 mins doing regular 1:36s. Need to up the fuel a bit though as 50L in the 360 GTC would be close to running out I think. Tyres may not last the whole distance either but we will see on Tuesday I guess. Looking forward to this should be a good race. (If I get in of course!)

I dont know how some peeps get the times they do...my best so far is just under 1:37.2 with a race setup. Not sure what I will be able to get with less fuel and soft tyres, but to be honest I dont think I will try, I am well pleased with that time.

Don't worry about my times, I'm in the other server anyway  ;D. 1:36.2 isn't bad, I think, for the Academy server so keep you head up  ;D

Well I was pretty quick if nothing else. After a great qual and getting my first pole took it very easy into the first corner then went and broke too late for the second and back to ninth I went. Made my way back up the field and due to the battles and a bit of team help I was back up to first. Tyres beginning to go (poss rears overheating) and lost it again

Back to 6th again making way back up the field. My teamate chunky made a slight error at turn 2 and a I tried to outbrake him into 3 but heavily locked wheel and off again. What a numpty.......

5th overall in the end but it could have been so much better. Congrats to the podium and there was plentry of great racing in there!

Apologies to Luke and Chunky on my second off as held them up badly. sorry chaps

That was a blur! Outqualified by Picnic for (I think) the first time this season, then had absolutely no pace in the first half of the race and was really starting to worry about whether I was going to struggle in the Endurance event too as Pete disappeared up off the road. But then Pete had a massive moment and I got past, followed by a stupid mixup on my part where I was much too keen to let him by and caused him to run off again. :-[

Suddenly when the fuel hit about 25 litres the car just came to me all of a sudden and I started popping in consistent 1:37s and catching the cars of Chunky and Beholder, joined after a while by Paul Richards recovering from his first off. Time was running out but I was closing in; Paul had another big moment and that cost me a quite a lot of time when I couldn't quite capitalise and squeeze by, but now I was onto the back of what was now a four way scrap for the final podium spot with a few laps left. Paul went off yet again and that put me fifth, and now Chunky was getting away in 3rd and Beholder was looking very ragged in places.

Was gobsmacked to see Luke off (presumably from the lead) with a blown engine, which meant I had at most 2 laps left to find a way past Beholder and onto the podium; by now my front left had started to go off and I was struggling a bit braking for right handers, but with the clocking ticking down to 0 I managed to get a great run out of the final corner and into the tow, but to my dismay the chequered flag came out as we were a lot closer to the leading car than I expected, and I lost out on a bronze medal by just 0.152s. :-\

My first race down and what a race.

Qualified in 4th and then finishing the race in 3rd

1st half of the race was so close.4 of us pulled away to a point where we couldn't see 5th.

Paul had a few offs which cost him,and dynodaz had an off at turn 1 but made a great recovery to eventually win.
My problems started 10Min's from the end, i couldn't believe how quick my tyres faded away.
All i was looking at was Dave's blue 350z getting bigger, talk about pressure.
i had to wrestle the car round to stay in front of him and kept going wide.
Couldn't turn, wouldn't stop, i thought he had me for sure.
I dint remember the last couple of laps much,it was a case of look in the mirror, check the time, look in the mirror, check the time!
Cant wait for the next 1
NICE RACE LADS:)

What a race!! I think the lead changed about 5 times in the first half of the race.
Then it was the 3, 28cd boys in the lead pulling away from the rest with Paul and Luke in front on me, only to find a couple of laps later they had a coming together in turn 4 and were in the middle of the track, tried to avoid them and let the 2 guys behind me through, with some good racing and a nail biting finish I managed 2nd.
Just like to thank Beholder, Luke, Paul and Darren for some very close and clean racing, cheers boys ;)
congrats to Darren for the win.  :D

See ya at the endurance

Really cant believe my luck  :'(
Qualified in 2nd just behind Paul and after his off in the 1st lap I was able to grab 1st place and stayed there for a few laps till I made a couple of mistakes and Darren got past me.
Was fighting with Darren and when I got past him along the s/f start I got hit up the rear which sent me sliding off along the grass, back to 4th place.
So had to really push to gain positions, got back up behind Darren and he had an off at turn 1 which let me through.Paul was behind me so I let him go past as he is the Champ leader and has a better chance of winning the champ than me,but he also had an off and me and Chunky went into the side of him.Was able to rejoin in 1st with Darren right behind me.
Penultimate lap, after having to push the engine so much to regain positions and get back from being hit up the rear,etc...the Porka engine just gave in,didnt want to play no more  :-X  :'( fell really  :-X  >:(  ??? .

Sorry for the tap Luke, but in my defence while approaching T1 you were fractionally in front of me (1/2 a bonnet length gap).  Then under heavy braking you drifted across in front of me.  There was nothing I could do.  :surrender:  When did you slide along the grass?  The replay shows you stopped on the curb  :P

Anyway, if you feel strongly about it, please feel free to submit a report.  I'll happily accept their verdict...

Commiserations about the engine blow..  It was not the way I wanted to win..   But to be fair I was all over you at the time and I would have passed you anyway  :P  ;)

I never trust the game's own estimates, I always do a dozen or so laps in testing with a totally full tank to get a consumption and race pace baseline and calculate my race fuel from that.
