Example Setups:

Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see
cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules (https://www.simracing.org.uk/index.php?pid=7) especially the
rules about in-game chat messages.
(3) You will need to install Race Room Racing Experience from Steam, and have the Euro and American Track Packs for this series (And maybe another
non pack track occasionally)
(4) Please exercise caution when pitting as some tracks have a speed limit.

(5) Please follow the SROUK guidelines for using kerbs etc. Please keep 2 wheels on the track surface (kerbs do not count as track surface)
Excessive cutting of corners will seen as cheating and the results may be altered to reflect this.

Nice Track.

First time here. What sort of Q and R lap times would you expect with the Scirocco?

Jos

Was released last year, nor sure exactly when.
I was doing 2:00.3 in testing with race fuel
Not an obvious choice of track layout, but I wanted to give these cars a chance
to get up some speed, and there may be some drafting  ::)

Sorry for the short race, I removed the reverse grid, but forgot to change to single event and 30 mins.
I could have made it a 2 race with points, but Toni left so would not have been fair.

I'm a bit confused with the two race format. I hadn't realised that was the case.
I'll process the video of the first race later tonight. The second race ended with my CrewChief's words "Try the other way round!"  :death: He is no more.

Sorry, if i was laggy  ??? Don't know why  ???

Because in practice i had no problems, fps dropped by moments during quali on

Fun first race, but ran out of fuel probably too much fighting for position. And i noticed it to late.

Congrats to Geoff and Glenn

I can make it 2x 20 mins for the rest of the events if people want it

Was good, I enjoyed the two races. A replay of our race 1 incidents might make a nice reel, I hung around on two wheels a long time.

Brilliant duel with Geoff in race 1, I lost count of how many times we switched places. We spent the entire race under each others boot lid but I think Geoff just had a little bit extra in terms of driving and setup. I ran as fast as I could all race but at points Geoff was able to really turn it on.

I benefitted from mistakes in race 2 so when I made one of my own on the second to last lap it didn't cost me due to the battles behind.

Well done Geoff and Dieter! Well done everyone else on some great racing.

Wow, both races hectic and super fun throughout. The last corner saw a lot of the best action for me, going in 3-wide several times, even 4-wide on one occasion..! Brilliant stuff, thanks to all. Congrats Geoff and Glenn for the wins.

Yes, sounds good to me. Reverse grid for second race maybe?

It's what we did for the WTC cars. Stephen has it for the MilkFloats.
Not so easy after the series has started, worst case I can just have 2 events on the same evening

Yes these were really good fun around Aragon, with two hectic & at times tactical races.

First was almost a start to finish battle with Glenn for the win. He got away a little in the early laps when I made a couple of small mistakes, but I was able to close the gap thanks to the slipstream on the long straight. It was the straight that was crucial in the end as I had upped the gearing a notch before the race to hopefully get a better top speed in the slipstream & it worked great as I was able to draft past Glenn on the final lap to take the win.

The second race was even more hectic. I made a couple of bigger errors early on in this one & Glenn got away & I got involved in a frenetic battle with Jos, Frex & Mark. For some reason I struggled in this race with the car not wanting to turn on the brakes & slightly overshot several corners until I learned to brake a little earlier. The four way battle eventually turned into a two way dice with Frex as Jos hit one of those humps & rolled his car & Mark dropped back. Final lap was a repeat of race one & I was able to draft past Frex on the straight to take 2nd.

Congrats to Glenn on the win & 2nd & to Frex with two 3rds.

If the plan is to do two races then say so in the race description? Seems these days it's random whether the race is 30 minutes, 30 laps, or 20+15 laps. I waited for the second race but then it was showing no one in the timing screen, so I left.  ???

There was no plan to do two races. It was just my incompetence  :hang:

The server was setup from the previous Sunday event with the Leon Electric cars which are
a 20min race followed by a 15 min reverse grid, and I missed the setting. Appologies to all.

We are just discussing whether we would like the two race format for the rest of the events
for this series.

Nice and competitive race(s) yesterday.
Race 1 https://youtu.be/-0u8Rn6ICH4 (https://youtu.be/-0u8Rn6ICH4)
My start was terrible and I binned completely my great P2 result (thanks to the slipstream) in qualy. I managed to recover though and, whilst Glenn and Geoff were by then out of reach, I felt I had solid options for P3. But then, in minute 10:50, the most awkward things happened with the engine and the car lost completely revs and power... I felt immediately to P6 and back on the charge.
What follows was a massive fight in a close group of 4 (especially the battle with Pete).
I managed to recover a position and ended in P5 10mins earlier than I had originally anticipated...
It was fun although I'm still puzzled about some aspects of the race. Perhaps I shouldn't rev the car so high and shift to P3 would have reduced the risk of that engine collapse?

Race 2 https://youtu.be/ACsQJkG38T0 (https://youtu.be/ACsQJkG38T0)
This was even more awkward. I wasn't expecting it. Didn't change the fuel so I had plenty for the race. Frenetic fights for P2 until the dreaded moment when the car hit a hump and off we went rolling around. That's when the CrewChief told me I should try the other way round...

Good fun and great racing by all. Congrats to winners and podiums.
Jos
